  • every good vacuum .. good price .. wont get much cheaper than this.

  • Damn, my bragging rights of scoring a deal on these will be taken away!

  • Does Harvey Norman price match these Good Guys deal?

    • its on eBay.. don't think you will get the price match.. but try…

    • Does HN have this model?

  • very, very good price

  • +1

are they better than dyson big ball.. I am thinking to buy Dyson with 3 amex card…

    • +10

I would recommend the Miele's over Dyson. The suction on the Miele's are great, I have mine on the 2nd lowest setting and I get amazing suction. I have yet to change a bag in my Miele, and this is over 6 months of vacuuming every fortnight in a three bedroom house (indicator says it is only quarter full too). Overall the thing that made me go with a Miele are the reviews, Miele overall get very positive reviews, Dyson it is a mixed bag.

    • I've done a lot of research and the Miele's seem to have more going for it than Dyson, both have ups and downs though.

    • +1

The suction is much better than Dyson, and it's cleaner to empty it.

The only argument going for the dyson is bagless, but having come from dyson, I'd rather have bags now. I learned the hard way.

  • +3
    • Yeah I saw them promoting that at the Harvey Norman store. Must be nationwide offer for Miele Vacuum.

    • Yes, I recently purchased the C3 cat and dog from HN using my Amex statement credits for $409 with 6 years warranty and 4 boxes of bags redeemed in store.

    • They claim it's worth $115 but $75 on ebay, cheaper with regular ebay codes…

      http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/MIELE-GN-HYCLEAN-3D-EFFICIENCY-VA…

  • Do we get the 4 boxes of bags with this as well?It comes free if you buy it off the good guys directly.

    https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/miele-complete-c3-allergy-102…

    • It's worked for previous deals. (Just ask the staff nicely)

    • I bought the C3 Cat & Dog from Good Guys eBay with pickup option. When the lady rang to advise me that my order is ready to pick up, I asked about the bonus 4 boxes of bags and she said she can put it on the docket. :)

      • How much did that end up costing you?

I have the same model. It's an amazing piece of engineering. I love it. And I never thought I'd say that about a house cleaning product because I certainly don't enjoy doing that kind of stuff.

The carpets just feel clean afterwards, enough that I enjoy doing it now. This is a brand I'll stick to for life probably.

        • $420 - not the cheapest it's been but the bonus boxes of bags and filters was about $100 worth added in for free.

We had a 12 yr old Nilfisk 1600W Sprint Plus and it has been good, but really happy with Miele.

        • @Stix: That's a good price. I think that's the best price that includes the bags. Any lower and the bag promo was not running.

  • +1

We can't use 50$ voucher.. can use one voucher at one time…

  • I paid $359 July this year.

    so good price.

    • I paid $329 last year. This is a great price!

  • +3

    But it doesn't say Dyson.

  • Miele owners - is the turbo brush a necessity for carpets?

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Miele-Turbo-Brush-Tool-Attach…

    • thats what u get if u buy the cat and dog version … good for carpets apparently .. i have the miele hardwood version so i cant really say if thats much better on carpet … i imagine it would be because it brushes the carpet. for carpets i have a dyson v6 absolute which is similar sort of thing.

cat and dog bundle is here:
      http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Miele-09983530-Complete-C3-Ca…

      • Does the Cat and Dog version come with a standard hard floor/carpet attachment?

        • yeah i beleive u get the normal attachment and also the turbo brush. the hardwood model has the hardwood attachment and the normal attachment.

        • @hippyhippy: Yes it does (I have one).

        • @hippyhippy:
I have a lot of carpeted areas. Is it worth paying $100 more to buy the cat and dog model that comes with a turbobrush? Couldn't find any other difference between this model and the Cat & Dog.

        • +1

@titan0r: yeah i would say yes … turbobrush will ruffle the carpet getting all the extra dust off. the only difference is the extra turbobrush attachment. else the vacuum is pretty much the same , just different colour.

        • @titan0r:

yes it is. i purchased in last deal and its a great vacuum so far, the suction is amazing !

        • @titan0r: It sucks up dust better than standard attachment. It will occasionally tangle though. It's not good for string.

        • @titan0r: Is it cheaper to just buy this model and then buy the turbo brush separate? Can the turbo brush easily be attached to this vacuum and still provide the same power as the cat dog model?

        • @kimba88: absolutely it can. I think it's worth having, makes a huge difference compared to the normal head

        • @buckster: So what's the difference between this vacuum and the cat/dog one.. other than the turbo head? Is there any difference in suction, etc?

        • @kimba88: Just the attachment, and possibly the filter (cat & dog comes with Active airclean filter which is supposed to absorb smells, allergy one possibly comes with the Hepa Airclean filter for better allergen capturing?

Suction and everything is identical between the two (except colour).

        • @buckster: Thanks for your reply. I'm wondering which one is more worth it then. The Cat Dog was under $400 last month.. not sure if another sale will pop up

        • @kimba88: The turbobrush is about $120 standalone on the goodguys ebay store - If the difference was less than that you could just get them separate, but if more then you'd save getting the Cat&Dog

        • @buckster: Its about the same.. that's what makes me think it might be worth waiting fora good special on the cat dog vacuum. We have both an indoor cat and indoor dog..

    • +2

I would say it is well worth having, gives a better clean, but not "necessary".

      • Thanks :-) probably gonna get this and save $100.

        • Having got it with my unit, I don't think I'd want to be without it.

But if you only have the standard one and never tried the Turbo, you probably will be happy with yours.

    • It's very useful. I'd try and get Cat & Dog if possible, which comes with it.

    • I have the C3 Complete without the turbo brush. I use it on low to medium suction setting and that seems to be more than enough for the carpets. I think if you have pet hairs etc then maybe the turbo brush could be necessary.

  • +7

I've had one of these for a few years now and swear by it. I was going to buy Dyson but after speaking with some salespeople friends there, they all recommended the Miele. Apparently Dyson build quality just ain't what it used to be.

    • The build quality is ok. The engineering is questionable. I don't feel like going into it again. I had a stick and barrel. Refunded the stick and gave away the barrel. Got a Miele and never looked back.

It is so satisfying to hear the clinking of all that dust inside the hose. I used to hate vacuuming. But this thing is powerful.

  • Does anyone know if these are made in Germany?

  • +1

Best vacuum you can get for the price.

  • +1

    Sucker…

  • +5

Just came here to let you know, I purchased this 1 year ago and it really good vacuum!

    • +2

Excited to try this one… only for the first round, then the mrs can have it :P

      • You gotta teach her how to use it - ' I'm only showing you once!'

  • +1

    Thanks OP!
Finally treated myself to a new Hoover (Vacuum) ;)

  • Does Harvey Norman have this model? Thinking of using the Amex offer

    • +1

I have a feeling this one is a TGG exclusive model. HN have their own exclusive without the HEPA filter but with a turbo brush.

    • Also, the Amex offer excludes any Miele products

  • +1

Note that this vacuum only takes the expensive HEPA or carbon filters. The manual says you can add the filter grille accessory so you can use the free standard filters which come with bags… But this accessory does not seem to exist!

I bought a filter grille advertised on eBay for 30 bucks, and it does clip into place. However, it's clearly for a different vacuum model because the little tab you use to open it prevents the lid of the C3 from closing. I'm going to cut this tab off, so that it will work. Not ideal!

You're better off getting the standard C3 if you don't want to buy replacement HEPA filters. A waste of money if you don't have allergies.

    • +1

I think they're still relatively cheap on eBay, but thanks for the heads up!

      • I couldn't see the standard version listed so went with this one.
Thanks for the heads up about the filters…. I'll pre-order some in advance.

        • One question. If you turn the vacuum to the highest power using the standard floor head, and lift the head off the carpet, what does the orange bag indicator read?

Even with a fresh bag mine reads nearly full.

      • Yeah you can get 16 bags, 4 HEPA filters and 4 motor filters for $70 on ebay..

        • +1

Would you mind to post the link to the ebay item pls? Searched for HEPA filters for C3 Allergy and could not find anything.

  • +6

I'll never understand why anyone buys Dyson over Miele.

    • +1

Its for the name and looks.

  • I've rarely seen a product praised a much as you guys are doing here! I have very little experience buying vacuum cleaners as have mostly lived in non-carpeted places. Just moved into a two-storey place with mostly carpet including on stairs.

Anyone know if this would be easy to manage up and down stairs? I'd been thinking of getting a backpack-style one to walk around with…

    • Get the v8 dyson absolute with motor head … i have v6 and that should be enough. But pricey though

    • I dont have this exact model, I have a C5000 series miele vac. Its not the easiest thing to do stairs, but it's well worth the effort. In saying that, I dont do the stairs every time I vacuum, probably only every 2nd or 3rd time I pull the vacuum out.

    • Get a stick vacuum for the stairs.

They regularly go on special for $200-300.

  • +1

Lot of votes for a vacuum cleaner, odd..

  • Thanks! Bought one of these with the hardfloor attachment. Have a Dyson V6 Animal for the rugs but this will be awesome for the tiles and car. Got a Weber baby as well! wew!

  • I bought a steam mop and this code worked, saved me $45.60. Thanks OP

  • Can someone please confirm if this is the exact model

    http://www.miele.hk/domestic/vacuum-cleaners-1784.htm?mat=10…

  • How to purchase extended warranty?

    • +1

I hope you're being sarcastic, because extended warranties don't belong on ozbargain. For what it's worth, this vacuum cleaner is made in Germany.

  • anyone know the return policy?

  • Good timing. Was in the market for a new vacuum cleaner. Not any longer.

  • +1

How often would you need to replace the bag and how much would it cost?

    • +3

Depends how big and messy your house is, whether you have pets or kids.

6 months is a good estimate. 3 months if you have pets and kids.

I changed my first bag only last week. Had it for 11 months. However, it's recommended you change it before the bag fills completely. I waited till the bag filled completely, to get more value for money from the bags. But if you wait that long the airflow and suction will be impaired. It will not be as strong.

4 packs of bags is about $75 on ebay. That is 16 bags total. Which will last you about 8 years for an average home, or 4 years for a messy home. That is pretty cheap. About $4.70 a bag. So much cleaner than emptying a bagless dyson.

    • +1

The first bag lasted 4 months for us with huge carpeted living area and 4 bedroom, lounge, dining wooden floor home. But I have a feeling the 2nd bag now will last longer. I think the first got filled up with the initial dusts from the carpets as the suction is way too strong.

  • +1

I am pretty sure that until now my house has never truly been cleaned. Spent $300 on vacuums in the past and they don't compare in the slightest. This thing is super quiet (even my idiot cat isn't losing his mind), light weight (can hold in one hand and use clean walls/ceilings) and very very powerful (so much so that I can hardly budge the thing on the carpet if its on max power). 11/10 will never change brand again!

  • Guys how does this compare to Miele Compact C1 SCAB0? Choice magazine rated the C1 as better dirt removal from carpet (81% for C1 vs 70% for this model). My house has quite a lot of carpeted area so would lean towards something that cleans carpet well.

  • What attachments does it come with? Is there any for hardwood? Thanms
