I know this is not a deal for everyone but the ones that have used this flashlight know how good it is and how cheap this price is.

  • nice offer. not for me and mine as we kill larger flashlights by dead batteries leaks. the sock gremlins also collects the small flashlight ones to hide the odd sock matez

as a side comment _ the new best light i purchased was a 2,200 lumnes portable worklight from masters around $40 net price. micro phone recharable usb and blue tooth. sadly i have not seen anymore in Stafford store or in Toowoomba or Springfield.
this lightI is stored with our home emergency storm kit and top up charge every 3 months.

Nice one on posting the flashlight on ozbargain

  • Does it come with a rechargeable battery and charger? Excellent price BTW. It is too big for me. Can use as a weapon.

  • +1

    how much are they usually?

    • +1

around $450 - $650, by the way this one is a monster

  • Technically it is a bargain since this light usually retails for way more, but there are MUCH better lights out there for far less money.

If you are specifically looking for a big searchlight that can double as a club, you could buy a Convoy L6 which has a much more pleasing neutral white emitter and a much more useful low mode of about 50lm (plus a turbo mode of somewhere north of 3800lm), two protected 26650 cells and a decent charger to charge them (as well as all of your eneloops) and still come in at less than half the price.

    • I own a Convoy L6 and I am pretty underwhelmed. They are pretty cheap, but I dont like the light or the weight balance.

Torches are personal things - one man's trash is another man's treasure - a bit like girlfriends.

Try a Nitecore TM16GT - that is my preferred carry.

      • I guess it depends on what your expectations are, but I was pretty impressed by it. I bought the Neutral version, and compared to my Thorfire S70 (which is cool) it is much nicer. The build quality is spot-on for the price, but I agree that it doesn't feel as nice as my M2X-UT or my Predator Pro (or likely your TM16).

I know people who have bought the L6 expecting a spotlight and then been dissapointed, and comparing it to your TM16 isn't really fair since the TM16 throws close to 1km vs the L6 at about 500m.

As I said further down, for this kind of money people are much better off with a brand like Armytek where they can get something of comparable quality (I would say better but that is subjective) for less money which will allow them to get a range of lights to suit different scenarios. Personally I would grab the Barracuda Pro and get a free Tiara A1 Pro (I have a thing for right-angled lights at the moment), but you could also get a free Prime C2 XP-L and end up with a great EDC light as well.

    • Have you ever seen the LL21 or used it? It craps all over the Convoy by all means. I have the LL21 and LL21R. They are simply amazing.

      • I dont think I have seen an LL21 - link?

I own maybe a dozen high end lights but I keep coming back to the TM16GT - have not found anything I prefer to it

      • Yup, have used one that a friend brought camping recently. I suppose like anything it depends on what you are looking for out of a light, but the X21 uses nasty cool white emitters, has a fairly unimpressive output range, has some PWM, and uses D-Cell alkaline batteries (ew).

Dollar for dollar you would be much better off with an Armytek Barracuda, getting a free EDC light as a bonus and still having money left over for cells and a charger.

On the flipside, have you ever used an L6? "Crapping all over" depends on the context but apart from the weight of the X21 and the novelty of the zoom I can't really see how that is the case.

EDIT: Sorry OP, I realise this might have come across a bit negatively and that certainly isn't my intention. Just trying to have a bit of healthy flashlight conversation since r/flashlight has been a bit quiet lately…

I will never get a torch with pwm again, and agree cool white isn't great. Combined with underpowered batteries, too big size, and low lumen output much much better deals out there!

        • Didn't take it in a negative way. I just love the zoom on the X21. To me that is one of the main arguments.

Hate to say it but this isn't a very good buy. The positives are that it's local stock with local warranty, uses standard D cells for those that don't want to get involeved with Li-Ion and it's got that Led-Lenser zoomie feature that some people like.

It's not all that bright compared to most cheap single 18650 XM-L2 lights these days and the throw is OK but nothing a ~$100 ArmyTek Barracuda can't beat at a similar brightness https://www.armytek.com/products/flashlights/search-and-resc…

Personally for about $40 more i'd much rather buy the Thrunite TN40, works out about the same as this includes a rechargable battery pack while being triple the brightness and double the throw http://www.hkequipment.net/product-p/tn40.htm

Nothing again't the OP, if you're looking for this particular light then it's a good deal, much cheaper than normal RRP.

Standard D cells means the power throughput is limited, so is the capacity.

I agree nothing against OP, but seriously if you are spending that coin you should consider 18650 or 26650 cells - they put out my power and hold more power - means a brighter, longer lasting light.

I prefer lights that dont come with chargers built in - my experience is lights with inbuilt chargers have a tendency to fail sooner and there are more things that can go wrong.

At $300, this one is a flash light.
