About CableGeek

CableGeek stocks the largest range of Anker cable products in Australia (and we are rapidly expanding our product catalogue to also include multiple models of Anker power banks and chargers by the end of this year). All products are immediately available and shipped from Melbourne. (Unlike AliExpress you definitely don't need to wait 20-41 days for your cables.) Our prices are great and we can match any price on Anker products quoted by local sellers.

Why Anker?

CableGeek has sold over 800 Anker cables (yes, 200 more since last week) so far and we have only heard good things from our customers. Put it simply Anker's cable products are among the best in the industry, in terms of build quality, design, durability and spec compliance. Charging speeds depend on multiple factors but a high-quality cable is a must-have. CableGeek also offers 18-month Australian warranty on all Anker products.

  • Unmatched low defect rate: <0.5% across all product lines over 18 months (vs 3% industry average), based on the stats provided by Anker
  • Premium design and engineering: I prefer Anker cables over the original ones because of they are better looking. They are incredibly durable too, watch this tough test video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2crISE-TLxE
  • Fast charging speeds. Anker's Micro USB and USB-C cables are absolutely the best performers in the industry. Combined with Anker's PowerIQ technology used in Anker PowerPort USB charger or Anker PowerCore+ power banks, the charging speed is as fast as the phone can safely handle.

The Simplistic Anker Cable Guide

Standard: Entry-level product. The cable itself is quite thick (more durable than other entry-level cables) and provides basic spec features.
PowerLine: Kevlar fibre core. Faster charging speed.
Nylon-braided: Nylon-braided design. Gold-plated connector.
PowerLine+: Most high-end product line. Kevlar + double nylon-braiding. Comes with a stylish pouch.

  • Are these quick charge 3.0 compatible cables ?

    • +1

All Anker's Micro USB cables are QC 3.0 compatible (allowing sufficient current to pass through). USB-C and QC 3.0 are not compatible in theory, because QC 3.0 is proprietary, but if you happen to have a USB-C with QC 3.0 charging device, it should work.

    • Side topic: Now we also sell QC 3.0 car chargers.

    $11 each for a USB2 C cable in a 3 pack isn't a bargain…

    • +1

We are happy to match any local reseller's pricing on Anker cable products (even when not on sale). Anker USB-C cables have never been cheap in this market and this is the lowest price we are selling them at. That's why we call it a deal — a price point much lower than the market price at which we transacted with 50+ different willing buyers.

Edit: If the 3-Pack is an issue, we also sell it individually at $13.95. https://www.cablegeek.com.au/shop/cables/usb-type-c/anker-po…

Unfair neg by MynyMouge. Need to compare prices like-for-like.

Unless you can show cheaper local price on THIS product, you need to retract that neg.

      • -1

Come off it, like for like, they're USB cables - as long as you're comparing amongst better branded ones.

        • +1

Here's a checklist for a fair comparison with this product on CableGeek:

[ ] Spec compliance (generally easy for USB 2.0 charging cables)
          [ ] 3A charging support
          [ ] 5000+ bend lifetime
          [ ] Kevlar core
          [ ] 18-Month Australian warranty
[ ] Local shipping and local support (important if you need a cable rather urgently)
[ ] Reputable brand like Anker

They're reinforced charging cables. I've previously travelled around the world with cheap USB cables in my bag and pocket and countless numbers of them have broken and frayed at the joints due to repeated stress. No one's telling you to use these to charge your phone on your table every day.

MynyMouqe, please provide a link to a local seller of GENUINE Anker cables, exact same part number/model, and selling at a lower price than CableGeek including the free shipping.

Considering Amazon US is the largest seller of genuine Anker cables and they don't even ship them to Australia, if they did ship them to Oz, you'd be paying in excess of $10 shipping.

  • Are these the cables that had problems not too long ago?

    https://plus.google.com/+BensonLeung/posts/TkAnhK84TT7

    • +3

No. That's their USB-C to USB-C 3.1 Gen 2 cable, with model number A8185. We have never sold this product.

  • Hi OP, do all Anker cables come with 18-month free replacement in case of damage or is it just te Cable Geek Express ones? Cheers

    • We have an arrangement with an Anker authorised distributor to provide 18-month warranty for all Anker cables products sold in Australia by CableGeek. This is consistent with AnkerDirect's warranty program.

      • And just one further question. Are the powerline plus cables good for Samsung Quick Charge? Thanks

        • Yes. The cables are thick enough to support various cable-independent quick charge technologies.

    OP

    "rapidly expanding our product catalogue"

will you be stocking Anker multi outlet USB chargers and hubs (not those into car type plugs) anytime soon? The Amazon/Anker no ship on these is a crying shame!

    • +2

Yes! We have a USB-C PD charger coming soon in December. One thing is very important — we commit to only sell RCM approved products. It's in fact against to law to supply non-certified products in Australia. That's why we are not selling any chargers at the moment. The Anker charger we will be selling next month is a locally certified product.

      • Yay. A USB-C Anker PD charger! I assume this is similar to the Powerport+ 5 with USB-PD?

        • It is the Australian version of the PowerPort+

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B015XPQ5KK/ref=ox_sc_act_t…

This is about $25 delivered for 5 of the powerline cables (usb2). And you get a range of lengths.

    • +2

This is for PowerLine Micro USB. We do sell it at 3 x 0.9m for $21.84 (in this deal) with free Australian shipping (so you get it 7-14 days faster). I agree that the 5-Pack can be a great deal if you are happy to wait for the delivery.

      • +3

Yeah i've held out on getting the Amazon one as i'd rather support an Aussie business.

  • Will you be stocking the Nylon 6ft and 10ft in the future? I would happily pay ~$39.99 for 1x 3ft, 1x 6ft, 1x 10ft if that was ever a possibility.

Using the AmazonUS prices for comparison, this is around the same profit percentile (slightly less - ~$40.50 would be the same) as the 3x 3ft package, so I assume this price may actually be a possibility.

Edit: Note I'm referring to the MicroUSB nylon cables.

    • +1

We will have some 1.8m (6ft) Nylon Micro USB cable tomorrow. Price will be $17.99. We will also have some PowerLine+ Micro USB 3.0m in the coming weeks.

      • Is any kind of package consisting of the different lengths a possibility? Also any plans to stock the 10ft nylon series?

        • The way we do cable packs is different from AnkerDirect on Amazon. We don't have access to Anker's official cable packs through our supplier, so we essentially do our own kitting and pass on the savings on shipping. There's not much savings to be achieved for mixed-length packs, at least not in small quantities. (Unless you want to buy 10+ cables in this case please PM me and I can come up with a special deal.)

We aim to stock the fullest range of Anker cables possible, so we are definitely trying to get some 3.0m Nylon cables. The PowerLine+ series will come in sooner though.
