Does it actually do all of it well..?

    • Yes it performs very well according to AV Forums for the price. The issues reported have been fixed in a recent firmware update like the 3D MVC playback.

ZIDOO are definitely above the more generic brands as they have regular OTA updates, more capable SoCs and features not found in other devices. They also sent review units out early to weed out all the bugs for release. ;)

  • If the ZIDOO had an internal HDD bay I'd jump on it.

  • This may show my ignorance but so be it…….how does this the Zidoo compare to the Nvidia Shield?

    • I have Zidoo X6pro. Zidoo made great product. They have firmware update all the time to fix issue. But if you are comparing well brand product like Nvidia. Of course Nvidia has better support and resell value.

      • Thanks test123123, I was more looking at how they performed compared to each other as the cost (and I'm waiting for another Nvidia bargain offer) was very roughly similar. I'd seen the Nvidia getting pretty positive feedback.

    • Somewhat different products really, this is a do it all box where as the shield really is just a beast of a media player

  • HD Netflix though…..?

Don't waste your time. I bought the previous zidoo X9 flagship and it hasn't had any updates since February this year. I find it quite unreliable, and the support forum is like a ghost town.

    • Agree. Makes no difference with other sub $70 android tv box. The only plus side I bought it is because I want the 5Ghz wifi.

  • will it connect/play something from a samba share?

    • Yes.

  • Zapals have this for $128.79 (shipping included).

    • And GeekBuying have it for $124.99 with shipping included. When I checked yesterday TNT and SF were free, so my deal is even better.

  • Very bad service, ordered 10 days still processing. According the website, processing time is 2-7 days. Never buy it again!

I just received the reply from customer servise after 4 days. I have been told the item is too hot and they are out of stock, so they need e travel time. But they never mentioned how long does it take, maybe forever! mover buy it again!

This deal let alone the coupon hasn't been active for 4 days…. is there any truth in what you're saying?

      @Moemoe…

New user, 5x identical comments re bad service in 5x different GeekBuying posts. Hmmm, very suspicious…

      • Not to mention those 5 comments are his only comments and only joined a few days ago.

        mover buy it again!

More like, never listen to Meomoe's rants again…

Yup. PM'd me to complain that their order with DHL took 9 days including processing. That's really fast…..

        • @Clear: Jeez then again some people are impossible to please. There's that old saying that you only ever hear from people who love or hate it (have associations too) and the majority who are satisfied never say anything.

  • Just a headsup…to be able to choose the shipping method - from the page where you enter the discount code do NOT go straight to Paypal, choose the Go to Checkout option, the next page will allow you to choose TNT, for example, and if you scroll down, you will see the discounted price is retained, now go to PayPal.

Thanks OP for the post, I really am still unsure if this is overpriced for what it does (or what I want) but it has certain features that look to be of interest soooo in I went.

The seemingly infinite variations of these Android boxes are simply beyond this poor soul LOL…all refers to the Zidoo X9S by the way.
