well at ozbargain we are all good at guessing codes to get that extra discount

    • +3

I put in that code and it made it more expensive haha

  • are the cube codes going up at 12?

    • it'd be too late at 12….

      • +1

the cubes are going down at 12, to $10 USD…

        • LOL: theyre sold out, and apparently at 10

    • some smarty pants inputted the code "OZBcube" BEFORE 12pm and got it im sure haha

probably when it was added to the list as the coupon limit had been reached well before 12pm, props to whoever put it in.

  • +2

quadcopter sold out. Went to paypal and it was going to charge me $100. damn.

    • Same =/ I was super fast this time too. I guess not fast enough.

    • Yeah wtf, it accepted it in my cart and I hit Paypal and it says $102. How is it possible for someone to complete checkout in less than 3 seconds?

      • +2

The website is potentially processing thousands of requests in seconds. Is it really that hard to believe?

      • +2

you are competing against thousands of people lol you have to faster next time mate

      • +1

Step 7) If the discount is not still applied YOU have missed out DO NOT PROCEED further with the transaction!

    • I think I managed to snag one. No bots or anything just a regular guy on regular connection clicking. I tried the proceed to payment approach (not paypal) and now the order is in my 'my orders' section for $20 (quad + $7 postage)

  • Never even got to see the code for the cube….kept refreshing and it turned straight to sold out :( …..hmmm

    • was there an error ? I still cant apply it

      • Read the list: sold out! Sorry mate…

      • +1

It moved from 12pm to 10am then said SOLD OUT

        • this

        • yep as I was saying never even got to see the code….

    • same here…….
I can't even see the code….then sold out in next second/refresh

    • +1

Displayed Sold Out @ 11:58 (Code was never displayed)
      EDIT: Now displays 22/11 10am Cube iwork1x 2 in 1 Tablet PC(gearbest.com) 2 US$10.00 sold out
This product was suppose to be sold at 12 pm and not 10 am. SCAM!

  • I got the Quadcopter and when i went to payment it jumped to $133…wtf…..i need answers

  • +3

I don't know about you guys but it's pretty exciting to see if I got the deal or not. All in good fun I say.

  • OZBOukitel still not active?

  • +1

Oukitel code doesn't work. What a fail. Can someone change my + to a - ?

    • Yes I think there is an error.

  • +1

I don't understand, isn't it AEDT 12pm now? the phone coupon code never changed its message

    • +2

it's not working, the time for the phone was inputted wrong on the gearbest website I'm guessing

  • +1

what a joke. refresh the page before the coupon code is published 11:50 and …sold out.

    • before 12PM I checked and it's sold out

  • Got the sim card adapter but really wanted that quadcopter :(

  • Same issue

  • +2

Got the quad, $20 including shipping (which I thought was supposed to be free…)

  • +1

Scam - this whole thing was done for personal information. Cheaper to make up BS sales like that that dont exist than spend money in buying customer lists

    • +1

      I cant agree more!!

  • Caught the code but at payment page, normal price showed. What a waste of time

  • +5

What's up with the 12PM deals? Apparently the cubes sold out before 12 and before releasing the code which definitely should be OZBCube and Okitel's code is not activated yet.

Screenshots took before the supposed start time showing the coupon has been used while the coupon's not even there on the page yet. Also shows the supposed start time:

    http://imgur.com/a/HTQPG

    http://imgur.com/a/aRHR9

Sorry but I feel this is a scam now and GB just got my first ozbargin neg.

    • The sneaky buggers changed the start time on the tablet to 10am now as well. That + the phone code not going live its like they have an intern heading the sale.

      • I suspect the code will be activated at 1. Common issue when there's daylight saving. But still won't explain the change of deal starting time. Shame on them

  • If Gearbest continues sale like this for next a few days (luckily it ends tomorrow), I guess negative votes will outnumber positive ones LOL :D
anyway, congrats to those who got the $10 sale item

  • +3

The phone code never worked and still isn't working, that's all I was after. Thanks for the waste of time Gear best! Don't expect me to buy from you in the future.

    • +3

Until there is a really good deal.

  • +3

So gearbest states that the cube flash sale doesn't sell till 12pm aedt. And when you check this page repeatedly from 1130 to 12pm - no code, nothing. And then at 12pm it's sold out. I'm sorry I don't understand where all of this is coming from. I thought that we were fine… we had everything. And now nothing. What the fk is this fake timings

    • +2

Someone probably made the code OZBCube without a correct timer on it so some smart cookie came and guessed it

    • The code was published here as a 10am deal, and later changed to a 12pm deal (then changed back)

  • +3

Got the quad for $20 :D

    • grats :)

    • +3

      Suggest you upvote!

      • Indeed :).

    • Me too! Well it's in the my orders part for that price

    • +1

Guys, I'm on fire, I'll also grab the Elephone S7 at 10PM

You can all go out tonight, no need to try :D

  • well I wouldve gone for the quad if I knew the phone wouldnt even work lol

  • Will the phone code ever work I wonder? This sale is farcical.

  • +1

A lot of BS deals actually. Everything is sold out before the start time!

  • +2

OZBOukitel code doesn't appear to be active even though it's after 12pm. Been trying to use it for the last 10 mins. Maybe they got the time on it wrong.

Oh well.. I still got a teddy bear so I'm still happy.

  • +2

this is the worst click frenzy type sale I've ever seen, even worse than COTD!!

  • +2

Oukitel code not working well past 12pm… If you're going to post such a baity deal, at least make sure the codes are active when you say they're going to be… come on GB, you should be better that that.

  • +1

Supposedly a deal to make up for past issues and 1/4 midday codes work,,, what a joke

  • +1

20 mins later, the code is not working…. what a shame!!! ;-(

  • Oukitel U15 Pro 4G Phablet coupon hasn't activated!

    • Go read the post again.
      That isnt up till 4pm…

      • Yes, I saw that change near 1pm… Thanks! :-D

  • Anyway im not sure how much your time is worth. Quite while your ahead.

  • +2

Was really happy with you service before. This is just bad. Will never shop with you guys.I rarely Neg.This "Deal" is neg worthy.

    • -8

So you're going to never shop somewhere again based purely on the fact that you coudnt get one of the items?
      Thats pretty childish man..

  • +4

All these neggers yet still trying to score a deal.. sad

    • +8

      +1.

Complains, but still trying to grab something.

If you are not ready to fail, don't try ….

    • Just cause it's one of the most poorly run deals in the history of Ozbargain doesn't mean I'm not still going to give it a shot

      • +3

Let the green folks have the items, move on to other deals please…

      • +3

Don't you hear the irony in your own statement?

        • -2

I can recognise how poor it has been for the whole community but at the same time still take advantage it myself

        • +3

          @Legsweeping:

Do you often take advantage of "poor" "neg-worthy" deals ;-)

      • +7

It's either deal or no deal my friend. You can't say it's not a deal and try to grab it and keep complaining when you don't get it.

All the payments issues could have been avoided by people if they confirmed the price before clicking the final place order button. I agree that their system should have handled it better but that's the system they got. Any changes to the system costs them thousands of dollars (trust me I work in IT).

        • -1

When you submit a deal to gain trust back with the community for past (profanity) and especially one on the community's birthday you'd expect them to actually learn from their mistakes and do a half decent deal.

Instead the system (profanity) are exactly the same, they have to give out countless refunds (that cart explanation wasn't there initially so it's not an excuse), have people in Ukraine/Russia purchasing a large amount of the stock, and now they advertise 4 products to be listed at midday and only one actually works.

I'm giving it a negative for how poorly it has been handled for the community, but at the same time I know that I will be screwed around and am still giving it a shot anyway.

        • +1

          @Legsweeping:
Negging because you don't think other people should try, but you think you should? Sounds like you negged so there'd be less competition.

        • -1

@Miss B: You know what they say about assuming

        • +4

          @Legsweeping:

I think Gearbest have done a really good job to be honest.

Remember they are not only giving away thousands of dollars worth of goods for a pittance but I'd hate to calculate all the hours of work contributed by their reps and staff. Work that could have been devoted to making the company a profit rather than a loss.

Think of all the man(person?)-hours required to process orders and refunds and costs incurred from Paypal etc reversing those charges made in error.

I think a company shines not only when things go smoothly and work out well but also in how they handle when things go wrong.

They are processing all orders made in error at no cost to their customers but solely on their own dime. What more can you ask?

As many have said before an ordering system should not continue processing orders without warning if a coupon fails.

Having said that the initial cart instructions provided by the mods had all the information you required. Thats what I used when making my purchase attempts and all I did was elaborate on those step by step to help out other users in the OzBargain community.

The Internet is a global phenomenon do you really think Gearbest should devote finances and resources to changing their ordering system for an event they lose money on? What cost effective or practical method could they have implemented to not process orders made outside of Australia if that was even the intention? Also how would they deal with countermeasures like VPN's etc

No one is perfect! Errors such as codes not being applied correctly can happen at the best of times imagine how their resources must be stretched dealing with all the order corrections etc. I think its quite understandable.

I for one think this is not only a GREAT deal but also a highly entertaining one and can't but hide a wry smile at its entitled detractors who still partake ;-)

        • +1

          @prxy:

We'll just agree to disagree then. It's clearly not just a giveaway as they are expecting some kind of return from it which I understand, but I'd just think we can hold them to a higher standard, especially when the reps are themselves posting, and given the current circumstances. Regardless of possible solutions, for them to admit that they lost trust with the last event, then do the exact same thing this time is poor form.

        • +3

@Legsweeping: I frankly think negging the deal and then trying to score one is being a hypocrite regardless of your reasoning. While a lot of people whine about the lack of stock, there are many a deals that are available. I think Scotty put it correctly, consider the low stock items extras and gun for the ones with better stock. And remember what jayjay said, If you are not ready to fail, don't try! Peace!

        • +1

@enzioFirenze: It's nothing to do with the lack of stock and I havent mentioned that once. Click Frenzy was limited aswell and I had no issues with that. I completely understand theres an incredibly low probability with these and enjoy doing it anyway, it's about how poorly it was handled.

        • +3

@Legsweeping: I think they are doing what they can mate, do I think their checkout system is crap, hell yeah. But if one is sensible enough, it's easy enough to navigate and not get stung. Besides, they're issuing refunds to everybody that was affected (many seem to have got the refunds within 2hrs) and I think that shows they are on the right track. As for the coupon misplacement, mistakes happen and that's part of being human. However, I didn't see rep explaining the issue with Cube code and the Oukitel code which would have been better if it was explained and changed rather than sneakily changed. Other than that, I think they've handled it really well. Frankly mate, if I were the rep, I wouldn't be happy when I'm being attacked for posting a deal that I'd lose money on and in light of that, I think Sunny is handling the pressure very well.

        • @prxy:

What did you end up getting :)?

        • +1

          @Christop86:

As I mentioned in an earlier post only a tv box so far.

          :-)

Either me or my Internet connection isn't fast enough it seems to snag one of the really limited items.

          :-(

    • -1

And even after the rep has politely agreed to provide refunds, they still whine. It's their fault for not reading the final price on the checkout page. GB should send the product out and keep the money for those who negged this deal or better yet, prevent people who've negged this deal from participating. They'll know which people to ban by cross referencing shipping addresses with those who were overcharged and are requesting a refund. Perhaps it'll be easier for the rest of us to secure a deal. If people don't appreciate the good deals/opportunities given to them, they shouldn't be permitted to participate.

  • GearBest, you know wot's gone wrong?

  • I guess the Oukitel will move to 4pm slot? Btw Sunny, you might want to provide an explanation about the Cube one, I think the conjecture of guessing the code of a listing that wasn't time bound sounds reasonable but would be better if you provide the explanation instead of the conjecture. Cheers!

    • They've done a sneaky edit to the page and now the Cube deal is listed at 10am, not 12pm as it was originally. Shady as (profanity).

      • yeah that definitely isn't a good move. Better to provide the explanation than the sneaky edits.

      • -6

The oukitel was always on the 4pm slot…

        • +1

I reckon Voltzy is associated and not declaring.

        • -1

          @blehgg:
Not really. I'm just pretty sure I saw it in the 4pm slot for today when I read the deals yesterday.
Could be wrong. Keep neg repping me for just saying what I thought was correct

        • @Voltzy:

nah would never neg out of saltiness.

I have nothing against GB, just reading the comments for the laughs and noticed your constant posts defending this thread which I thought was a bit suss.

The comment above was obviously wrong - cause you can check the history of the page changes.

          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/276841/revisions

Would have never thought someone would go out of their way to defend a deal, over and over and over and over again…

          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/user/196821

        • -1

          @blehgg:
I've never "defended them", I just helped people where possible and pointed out the silly anger some people have had towards the deals.

          But think what you will.
If I was associated with them I'd show it because I really want to have a little tag next to my name hahaha

  • Yep Oukitel has just now been moved to 4pm time slot.

  • +2

Shipping is too much for electronics! .. I got the teddy bear and it was free unregistered shipping.. When I tried to get the Alfawise A6 Smart Robotic Vacuum Cleaner it came as AUD $13.10 or something but the shipping was like $89.00?!?

  • was there a Vernee Apollo Lite 4G+ Phablet listed for 10am today?

It was removed this morning, was it?

  • Still waiting for that 'refund', messaged Store rep minutes after 4pm yesterday, provided order ID but no movement in paypal.

    • +1

I will check for you now!
