Mi Band 2 gone in under a second, I was repeatedly clicking Add coupon and it went from not yet active to limit reached.

  • I though I try my luck again and this time I dont use paypal. and again discount applied, check out and traaaaa same old price!

  • +1

Can anyone explain what happened when I went to purchase the mi band? I had applied the voucher code and used chrome to auto fill my details when I clicked proceed to checkout. I was given the message, the item does not ship to Australia? So now it seems that I missed it.

  • Starting to think I should've used a throw-away e-mail to sign up for these…

    Rookie mistake!

  • +2

miband's gone within seconds …this is the 10 minutes of my life that I will never get back lol

  • Managed to get one of the MiBands! Now to decide whether to gift it for Christmas or use it myself haha.

  • Got a Mi Band! :)

  • +1

This is so dodgy i got the discount… and then when i press checkout not through paypal but how they suggested it ends up being $36.

    Proof

    • -6

      Too slow

    • +3

      Same here…

  • WHO GOT THE ELEPHONE?

  • What is exactly the time they are using?

    Is this only a game?

    • You should not stay on same page. Close and open the link it shows time

  • +3

This "deal" is a total waste of time. Every time I tried to make a purchase the code is expired seconds after. Ridiculous, more like a lottery than a deal, and that's if anyone actually got to use a code?

    • ha! I've managed to get the code many times, but I think its the fastest who completes payment wins :P maybe ppl on the NBN are on a millisecond advantage

    • -5

      Too slow

  • +2

With 3918 Pieces left of Mi Band 2 do you think you could have more for sale?

    • Yea we would be happy even at slightly higher price

    • 8618 Pieces left as at 12.29am
      Alot of cancellations?

  • People who got Miband2, did you guys choose Unregistered - $0 or Registered - $2.?? extra?

    • Unregistered, was an extra click.

    • I got registered, why do you ask?

    • I changed it to Unregistered then wondering if it was risky choice.

    • I can't believe some people have the time to choose shipping method. How is that possible?

      • Mine just went through as registered by default, I didn't change anything during checkout.

      • Just realise you can choose shipping method before adding to cart.

        • There is shipping method option right before placing the order.

        • @reservin:
Yes but there is no time to choose.

    • Unregistered. I was expecting the extra click so I was still quick enough to change it for the free shipping and still get it.

Pretty sure this sale is rigged. If this sale is only for ozbarainers, none of the ozbargainers have commented that they have won any of the big ticket items.
GEARBEST is at its Worst again.
I seriously feel winners were pre-decided. If not can any of the winners of big ticket items put their comments here with proof.
    Fake sale, Fake pre-decided winners.

    • +2

Quite a few have won the phones, read the earlier pages.

    • It's not rigged, if you cannot get to the second checkout page and click the "Place your order" button in less than 4 seconds, you don't stand a chance.

    • -3

Why the screenshot for Elephone S7 is showing 19:00? Was it the time adding to cart?

      • +1

I am sorry,I dont know why he/she is so fast!

      • +1

The server is in a different time zone.

        • No, there is another column, showing 10:00pm.

        • +1

@Aulyna: Where? 应付金额 is amount payable.
Makes sense that it's 19:00, that's 22:00 here in Melb

        • @Aulyna: where?

        • +1

          @MrtheMoonbear:
          oh… I read 10.00 as 10:00pm ; -)

    • How many seconds do they people take to buy?

  • +1

I was buying the Xiaomi Mi Band 2. applied code and it works.
In the paypal screen it shows 13 AUD which is about 10 USD.
But charge me 49 AUD finally.
Close the order and refund please.

    • May I have your order number to arrange refund?

      • I had exactly the same issue pls cancel WW1611220501104099

Might as well cancell Order W1611220500154267
As i was browsing online i thought i would give it a try anyway.
It was in my shopping cart for something like $13 so I proceeded to go through the sale but by the time ( A few seconds later ) i got to pay my paypal was showing at the full price… wasted My Time..
Yes I did follow procedure above…
had item in car. waited for a few seconds before it clicke dover the 10pm and code worked…
But price changed in my paypal back to full..
Wasted a few seconds of my life.
    I havnt paid for it..

    • +1

Aww, so you negged it because other users were quicker than you?

      • +2

No.. I Negged it because there is 1 for sale on this deal…
        Its not a bargain……
        Its a Bloodfest…

And I actually negged it well before the deal evan began to be honest…
Check out my previous comment on page 4 - Before the deal……..

        • +2

Awww But you still thought it was good enough to have a go even after negging.

        • @millzy: I was online anyway and already had it in shopping cart so thought what the hell.. Ill have a Crack with expected Result…
I have purchased many items from gearbest in the past but As far as ozbargain is Concerned if there are not enough to make it a deal for at least 10 people then its not really a bargain .. Is it…

        • +2

          @millzy:

Yes, he had a crack. It's a competition at that point, which isn't a bargain. He's negging it as a bargain.

What's the deal with being a tool towards people who don't look favourably on this deal?

  • +9

    Dear Gear Best,

Item should be sold for the person who adds to the cart with discounted price and not to the one who pays first as the guy who add the product to cart with coupon is first. This is really disappointing, can you please correct this next time.

  • +16

Thanks very much Gearbest (especially Sunny). I never get anything during these types of sales (Click Frenzy/COTD). I thought I'd give this one a crack and have had a bit of success and some fun. No big ticket items, I mostly avoided them. I missed the RPi because I wasn't prepared. I managed to get the earphones (I love the previous version of the hybrids and have been wanting to get another pair, so I hope these are as good if not better), the microSD, the Mr Bean bear and the Mi Band.

It's unfortunate that people were overcharged (I nearly had that problem with the RPi, but saw the price and didn't go through with it) and I hope that all of the refunds are processed quickly. Thank you for adding the extra items, such as the extra laptops/smartwatches when the code for the previous ones worked earlier and people must have guessed them. I didn't go for them, but you've made up for that mistake I think. When I had the small issue of being charged for shipping when the post had said free shipping (not your fault it seems), you were very polite, helpful and apologetic even though you must have been very busy, so thank you very much.

Assuming all goes well with my orders (I have these 4 and 2 recent ones), I would be happy to buy from you in the future. I don't think I'll go for the items available tomorrow, I have a slow connection and am not fast enough for the smaller quantity ones. Thanks for the fun and the bargains :)

    • +6

This is what I like to see.

You win some, you lose some. Then there is support for when things go wrong.

I'd like to say thanks as well, got a couple items, for a great price.

    • +6

Here here. Only ever see and hear from the complainers. If retailers are copping this sort of criticism for other deals it's no wonder they aren't keen to go out on a limb to give a good deal.
Once you get the hang of the bizarre ordering system the deals were achievable.

    • Good to see someone with a bit of sense!

  • +5

hmm this birthday party isnt going too well

  • +4

This is the reason I stopped bothering with CoTD, and I would not like to see this kind of deal proliferate here. Extremely low prices with an extremely low quantity is not a genuine deal. I don't want to have to sift through trash to find deals.

I greatly appreciate Ozbargain running the 10 year event, but I am not sure why posting rules that would apply for other companies are no longer being applied to gearbest. I sincerely hope this is not due to affiliate payments.

    • No one forced you to participate. The beauty of Ozbargain is that you can hide all manner of deals with fine grained criteria so you can remain oblivious to CoTD type bargains etc

You can leave these types of bargain posts to those of us that like them. Less competition!

There have been no rules broken here as has been discussed Ad nauseam and your "affiliate payments" jibe is really just a slap in the face to the hard working staff of OzB.

      • +8

        I didn't participate.

That doesn't take away my right to an opinion. I don't have an interest in racing people for items and thousands of other bargains have been cancelled due to insufficient quantities. I don't see it being different on this occasion, even though the admin team disagrees.

The Ozbargain team aren't a bunch of casuals running a community in their spare time to help out the common man. This is their full time job, they get paid, and their decisions are not above criticism from the community who earn for them.

        • +2

Cubist and prxy—Technically you both are right. You both have a valid point and both opinions are correct. I am sure you both know that there could be two different opinions and both will be correct (as per individual perception). Not being critical in anyway, but lately we humans have developed a habit of imposing our thought to others or rejecting others opinion just because it doesnt match our angel of perception.

        • @AJAJAJ:
There sure are valid. Good thing we can discuss them instead of throwing downvotes at each other.

  • +5

Really appreciate the efforts put by GB and the rep Sunny here despite the numerous negative comments and votes. In fact GB went a step further and added more items which are not part of the original post. I am sure GB spent a significant amount of money on this deal to gain back the community's trust. Hope they will put the same effort in making sure the items are shipped quickly.

Those who are whinging about the low quantities on big ticket items should think about the number of other items on discount most of which are actually useful. Those people will appreciate a deal on those useless 1C items rather than something useful at a decent price.

    • Well said my dude!

  • I know i wouldn't be able to be fast enough to get it so used their black friday coupons and the price of the tv box went from au$70.31 to over au $80+… in fact it went up even if you used an invalid coupon…. what the. Shipping is suppose to be free yes?

    • FFS! the deal starts at 10am!

      • He said he used a black friday coupon

        • +1

shit yeah, I didn't notice that, my apologies mate!

    • Because the item is already on sale! It is part of the GB flash sale, so adding your own coupon negates that sale and at times can give you a worse price. This is very common on most Chinese sale sites.

    • You'll find that most of their products are 'discounted' in a way, but I think when a coupon is applied the preexisting 'discount' is removed. Could be why some users have commented about from prices rising after applying a coupon.

    • Correction "panic buying" gb coupon i get 13% of consuner electronics. What strange is the non discounted strikethrough price is over $100+ but when i apply a non working code… the price changes still to $80+ and I use a working gb coupon it uses the $80+ one to discount.

  • Are both the tv boxes the same?

    • Yes, they point to the same link.

      • Thought so. So do you think there's 5 in total or 10 in total? Because the code is the same too.
Edit.. nevermind, has been updated to remove the duplicate :)

        • I suspect it's a mistake in the table. In any case, 5 or 10 won't make a difference it will be just as hard to grab one :)

  • +4

I refreshed the coupon and it came up as $13 but accidentally pressed it Apply again and it said all had been used.

Oh well saved myself some money I guess :)

    • +1

Yea that has happened to me a few times.

  • +13

    did i get the phone?

    • +2

Sure looks like it, congrats :)

    • +1

      Congrats!

    • +1

      Wow. You nailed it gladiator…

    • +3

So YOU are the chosen one.

    • +2

ill pay you a dollar per deal next click frenzy deal to win me stuff…

    • +1

Had this opened up on my phone
      https://www.timeanddate.com/time/zones/aedt
Last time i had it opened on another tab which slowed me down changing tabs lol.

  • Bought the TV box, said $13 all the way throug again… but charged me $50… Here's my order number can I please have a refund ASAP:
    W1611221700073493

    • +1

Did you follow the instructions on the deal?

Clicking "Pay now with paypal" apparently screws it up.

      • I paid via credit card

    • +1

      Hi ryanjsoo,

I just found your order status is waiting for payment, could you pm me so I can reply you with details?

  • +3

Holy heck, I managed to snag one of the TV boxes.

    • +1

Time to find an adapter! :P Congrats

  • +1

Damn!! There was a screen after "Place your order" that asked me to re-enter my State. I wasn't ready for that and took a few seconds to work it out. It took me back to the purchase page but the price had gone back to $70. Poor me :(

I'm really bad at these super quick clicky sales. I didn't win anything this time around. Thanks to Gearbest though for offering a chance at some cool stuff.

  • +9

Thank you GB it was fun! You made it clear what was available and were transparent with all the purchases. I'm not sure what more you could have done to manage people's expectations. I guess people find it offensive when they don't get their way.

You didn't have to do this promotion, but you did. I grabbed a couple of DEALS so I'm happy. Thanks again.

    • +2

and for everyone who missed out, there are more deals

      OTG adapters for $0.13
500pcs water balloons for $1.34 (limit of 100 orders only)
Those smartwatch / watch phones are on sale for just over $30

      etc :)

Thanks to Gear Best for the fun and the deals I managed to get :)

      (Got an SQ8 camera on $4 off :) and a watch phone at $13.50 :D )

PS has anyone tried the Pofan cables?

      • +2

Haven't tried the cables but did order one to test.

I'm waiting for a sale on 24AWG micro usb cables

      • Where do we get the otg and water balloons?

    • +3

yep, and if you followed instructions re: logging in and paying later i don't think you could be overcharged either. and when you discount popular items by 90%+, whether there is 1 available or 20, you're gonna have a hard time actually getting one when you're competing against 100s of people. as long as your expectation is managed and you followed instructions, i don't see how you can rightfully whinge about this deal. GG GB.

  • +1

Coupon was applied —showed $13 —->clicked place the order —> Went to Paypal —->Full price ——> Time wasted again

  • +1

Not happy with that, got an alfawise box on the website, applied the code and it worked at 10am on the dot, checked out with PayPal, came through as the correct $10usd on PayPal, directed back to Gearbest to confirm shipping address and its price was $80 again. What a load of bullshit.
