You're right, it's a net loss for me. And think about the fact that I'm annoyed, that's an economic cost too.

  • +8

Am I the only one here enjoying everyone raging?

  • So hybrid headphone rage to come?

    • No … people are supposed to then see these are discounted from $42 from $93 and consider buying them at the $42 sale price :P

  • +2

Got the coupon through on the asus phone, but not fast enough at the finish line :S

    • same here … then missed out on the earphones

  • +1

this is hilarious at exactly 4:00 when i clicked on the apply coupon for the phone it said it has reached its maximum number limit. how stupid they think we are?

    • +1

It applied for me, though got to paypal and it went up to $250

    • There is only 1 available. Do you really think you were guaranteed one?

  • +3

Boo yeah! Got the Xiaomi In-ear Hybrid Earphones Pro for $11.60 US shipped. :D

    • +3

Me too - I'm now 3 for 3 (pi, flashlight, earphones)

      • +2

good luck waiting for them to arrive for Christmas

        • Thanks, didn't get them for Christmas but if they arrive before then my brother in law will probably get the headphones, and i'll keep the flashlight and pi for myself.

      • +1

sween64, drduck - are you guys with Telstra? Lol

        • Lol I'm at work and we're only on ADSL

    • +1

Yeah same! :D $2 for shipping fees but completely negligible for such a bargain. Mates gonna be really happy with his birthday gift. Thanks GB!

    • $15.73 AU according to my pending 28 degrees transaction.

  • Missed the earphones at checkout.

    • +1

I got a pair the other month from GearBest for like US$18. Now got tempted with $10, got through Paypal, then final checkout was for $33. Hahahaha.

  • +3

    Most hated deal ever?

    • +3

There was a Dick Smith sale a few years back where the staff hoarded alot of the stock which had like 400 negs 350 pos I believe

  • I was able to have the Asus Zenfone2 Deluxe with the coupon applied then after I clicked on check out with PayPal it showed me the old price :( ????

    • Only 1 available, someone must've beat you to it.

      • Then what does this mean?:

Mod: For anyone purchasing any of the below items, you do not have to complete checkout to get the item at the coupon price. If you add the item to your cart, apply the coupon code, and then follow the rest of the checkout process, you can pause at the point of payment.

if it was in my cart already how can anyone beat me to it? this is just a scam.

        • I don't think the mod is correct about this. Multiple comments say that the price can change during checkout.

        • +1

@sween64: But the mod is inside the main post! which is why I took it over the comments :(

    • I was in the same situation no joke. I event got 13+ AUD on Paypal but at the end when it took me back to the Gearbest page and about to click Place Order. It asked for the NORMAL PRICE. This too good to be true deal is rubbish man.

      • +1

Exactly, and now things disappearing from the list lol. I think it was a great way to wholesale some cheap $10 discounted rubbish, nothing more…

  • +1

Entered the coupon code for the phone and got 13.37aud then hit proceed to checkout.. Grand Total AU$237.86.
    Seems like I missed it

  • +2

This is (profanity) bullshit. I was clicking the Apply coupon button from 3.55pm until 4.00pm and the moment the clock hit 4.00pm i received the following error: This coupon has reached its usage number limit

This sale is dodgy as (profanity).

    • pretty bullshit. sold out in < 1 minute

  • Dammit, almost grabbed the Asus Zenfone2 Deluxe.

    • +3

      You and 400 other people.

      • *4000

      • Dammit, we all almost got the Asus Zenfone2 Deluxe.

  • +4

    • +5

      No, wait. Screwed over.

      • +2

        lol

      • +1

        what do you mean?

      • +1

lol, you didn't check the final i'm guessing.

    • wanna sell it for $20.))…100% profit…:)

  • +1

at least they dont act like scamfrenzy to waste a day out of us thank god

  • +1

Happy to say everyone in my fam got a pair of earphones each.

  • +1

My experience is this is completely the opposite; you need to apply coupon and have checked out before the the quantity has been exhausted, mine applied as some other users have pointed out but the delay in checkout via paypal had exhausted the quantity available, so successful application of the code doesn't hold the 1 of 20($i) for you..

"Mod: For anyone purchasing any of the below items, you do not have to complete checkout to get the item at the coupon price. If you add the item to your cart, apply the coupon code, and then follow the rest of the checkout process, you can pause at the point of payment (Paypal?). Confirm the Paypal amount or check your email or GearBest account after this to confirm whether you received the item at the $10 price. Times are also AEDT just to clarify that."

The problem is in the fact that it shows it at US10 which means you should be good, but once processed, it jumps to original.

At the very least provide some kind of fail safe for those that miss house. I don't mind low quantity, but jumping the price and charging you is beyond the line.

  • Waited to get the Xiaomi Earphones.

    • Coupon Entered
    • Paypal Straight away
    • Waits to receive SMS for paypal
    • all out…

    -_-

    • +1

SMS for PayPal? I don't have that set up…

      • That's Two Factor authentication, and it really sucks, SMS can take a while to arrive in some cases.

  • +6

Is this is a SCAM. Charged me full price even after paypal and gearbest quoted the total at 11aud

    • We only have 1-2s to valid and to pay…1s late is too late. Even Paypal doesn't warn us about the price change…

      • +3

        that's exactly why it's a scam

      • +4

It has to be illegal to quote the total price as $11 up until after you click pay and it loads an invoice at the full price.

        • Yeah, even Paypal didn't warn me about the price change…

    • Same

  • +7

Yeah, going to give first ever neg for this. Got right to the final point of sale and price magically jumped up, glad I was being super vigilant after reading all the other comments here.

  • +2

Ordered the Xiaomi hybrids. Total at checkout was $15 including shipping. After confirmation, price changed to $38.22 and proceeded with payment.

Be careful with this deal as there was no possible way for me to know the price would change.

Edit: Would give NEG if i hadn't already given it +

    • +1

      Same

    • +1

      Same again

    • I'd suggest opening a live chat with your order number and requesting a refund to original source of payment ASAP

  • Sorry ignorant question. Where can i find the codes? Codes I tried Ozb10, ozbargain10 but gearbest site says its not valid.

    • Each item has a different coupon. Last column of the table.

    • +1

In the post at the top of the page, last column in the table.

Edit: Beaten. Seems to be the thing in this deal :P

    • Different codes for different deals. Codes are to the right of the product description.

  • +1

Price changed at Paypal :( not happy.

    • Did you pay?? I paid…

      • No, I did not pay after seeing the final price.

  • +4

This deal with the Zenfone2 Deluxe is rubbish and I think to any other phones in this deal too. So here is why I said that, I successfully applied the code and the price got down to 13+ something AUD. After I proceeded to paypal check out, confirming the amount (still 13.+ AUD) and filling the address, contact number stuff, scrolled down and about to click PLACE ORDER, BOOOOM it showed as the NORMAL PRICE asking for 237.86 AUD even after confirming the price with Paypal. Pffffff…. Don't get your hopes up for those so-called "good deals" lads. Rubbish.

    • You are right. Too many people are complaining for the same type of error .

      • don't know why this kindda scam post is allowed on the site…. zzzzzz literally scam. lol if i didn't check for one last time, would have paid for the full price.

  • +4

soooo waiting for the neg to hit more than the up votes!! lol…

  • +5

I think they need to shutter this deal due to the number of people getting charged full price, thinking they were paying the $10. GB doesn't appear to have a proper system in place to notify you or warn you that the $10 code has exhausted.

Pretty much bait and switch scam

  • +5

This is a scam, as per the instructions in this thread checked the paypal amount and it was listed at $13 athorized this amount via paypal. Completed the transaction however $38 was deducted. Have raised request with @Gearbest I have screenshot to prove paypal amount should have been ($10USD/$13AUD)

    • +4

Exactly what happened to me. Once the pay pal screen loads with the payment amount and you click "pay" it should be that amount. Its illegal to charge more

  • +3

I got through PayPal with $13 headphones but the shipping page said $44… Wasn't going to try that out :/

    • +2

yeah i saw it for $13, processed payment, said i paid $44, waiting on order cancellation now

    • +2

and yet you upvote the 'deal'? Are you happy that they're trying to scam you?

      • +1

Calm yourself mate, I upvoted this when it was posted. All gone now!

        • +1

          I was just kidding :)

On a serious note - It's ridiculous how these scammers get away with this. Clearly there's more here than meets the eye

        • @steff: All good :)

I'll give them the benefit of the doubt till some malicious intent is proven. They've posted plenty of good deals before, and limited quantity stuff is going to be hard to implement.

  • I have removed remaining items with quantity less than 10 (Although only 1 remaining has less than 30) pending explanation from GearBest as to why users are being charged full price even after the discount was showing in PayPal. It does seem to be a result of inadequate checkout/payment systems, rather than anything malicious, but I will wait to hear what they have to say about it before considering further action.

    • That just limits the competition to those that know/bother to check the post revisions. No longer a game of chance, now also a game of skill.

      • Not much I can do about that though, hopefully they provide a solution between now and the next deals being live, but I'm not holding my breath.

      • +1

They can't add coupons to revision tomorrow

    • Twice I have missed out after getting the codes to work. It takes me to Paypal. but both times the amount to be charged, changed and i spotted it. I think the excitement of getting what you think is a good deal, means you miss the actual amount paypal is saying it will charge, I know in one case I almost missed the higher price.

So I think those claiming that the amount in Paypal is lower, are just not looking carefully, which is easy to do. Then later they see they have authorised the higher amount.

Now of course I would be pissed as well and be a little stressed if this happened to me, as it almost did, but paypal authorisation only charges what you authorise by pressing the pay button.

Unless it is different depending on which paypal route you take. as i noticed theer are two ways you can access Paypal from the site.

I have been lucky twice, although the second deal wasnt too much of a saving (Dvr in car camera). In the later case the Paypal payment wasnt processed. however I could still buy, as it was in my orders waiting for paypal authorisation (it gave me 24 hrs to fix this by going back into paypal)

  • -1

everyone give up on the low quantity items… let me have them…

  • +2

Store Rep has gone Silent with the increasing complaints of over charging. WHERE ARE YOU STORE REP????????

    • I would say they are busy handling the situation this has caused … Issuing all the refunds.

      • Could be

  • Has anyone been able to cancel the order after being charged the full amount?
Live chat seems to tell me im incorrect and it has always been the original price, even though i have screenshots of my order total.
