    In case anyone missed this important mention at the top of the post…
    This is the LE edition of CyberLink PowerDirector 14.
    For those that don’t know, LE edition = ‘Cripple Ware’
    As mentioned by ‘Mark R’: “The software also does not let you output video in a resolution higher than 640×480 unless you make an additional purchase”.
    Also, the free version only allows you to produce a final video as an .mp4 file.

    Limited output resolution really kills this deal and makes it useless.

    I am going to check it out. Some one else later commented:
    One can totally produce 1920×1080 mp4(mkv, mt2) file with this software. You just have to choose from the dropdown presets. Yes, it’s basic functionality, but for some it could be quite enough.

    I have downloaded and installed the app and it is fine. Only 4K video requires additional purchase.

      Well then, so I had done some muck around editing after installing then went to export and ran into the upgrade popup. Found the above quote and took it as gospel :/

      Can confirm that I'm able to export as 1920x1080 wmv's, haven't got mp4 working but I'm probably doing something wrong. (4am)
