Woolworths E-Gift Card 5.25% off via Cashrewards (48 Hours Only)

520

5.25% discount is back again @ Cashrewards! Although the deal doesn't appear to be as good as Groupon's that's currently running, at least we all know the reliability of gift card dispatch using cashrewards is unquestionable. Enjoy!

Just for those interested, I received my gift cards today from Groupon. Ordered on Thursday.

Lol if you ordered through CR/Everyday you'd have it inside 24hrs

You're right that Groupon is cheaper but I don't think in the grand scheme of things that this makes this worthy of a neg for a few reasons:

      • Groupon is a third party seller of the eGift cards whereas when buying through Cashrewards you get redirected through to the official channel
      • As a result, there are frequently reports from our friends on Ozbargain that it takes at least 24 hours (usually a couple of days) before they tend to receive the eGift Cards from Groupon (as opposed to within 6 hours through the Cashrewards change)
      • The payment is recorded as a supermarket purchase via Cashrewards, which is particularly attractive for those who hold credit cards which give them bonus spend at supermarkets (in particular the popular AMEX Platinum Edge) as opposed to going through Groupon

Advantages of the Groupon way? Not many, but here are a few I can think of:

      • Ability to use Groupon credit to pay
      • Option of paying via PayPal

In my opinion, whether this was 5% off or 5.25% off, going via Cashrewards is still preferable to purchasing from Groupon

hate groupon, customer service poor, bought ebay voucher $85, repeatly sent me unuseable codes, after waited for 3+ weeks and wasting heaps of my phone credits to them, also my valuable time in which i can make more income… finally they sent me a working one. in summary, it is not cheap, groupon refuse my request on full refund, give me too much stupid reasons… hence, i dont shop with groupon anymore… i am sure few of people experiencing the same… this can be seen from their facebook page

        • Personally I don't mind Groupon. I've had plenty of good experiences with Groupon (mostly restaurants) and I also think it's partly to do with your expectation.

I know by using Groupon I've probably got a "good" deal on something. I know that, and the restaurant knows that. I don't expect great service, but I also don't expect to be treated like crap.

If I get neutral service and neutral food, then I'll probably feel like I've got what I've paid for.

If I either aspect is slightly positive, then I'll feel like I've gotten value for money. I usually find that I feel this way.

I just did an order after seeing this post, then immediately afterwards received an email from RAA saying 6% off eGift cards - grr!!!

    • Yeah just got that too. Probably worthy of a deal.

    • Do you know if egift card purchases via RAA are categorised as supermarket expenditure?

Is there some way I can link this purchase through Woolworths so I can get the WW points for buying a giftcard AND the Cash Rewards?

    • No.

  • why can't it be 5.5% ;P

  • Sorry if this has been answered previously in another post, but can you use the e-gift cards to purchase other gift cards like the ones in this post? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/277192

    • Absolutely
