Has anybody purchased from bbqmaster.com.au before?

I'm on the hunt for a bbq and came across this site which is listing the Weber Family Q3200 for an almost too-good-to-be-true price of $538 delivered. Here is the direct link: https://www.bbqmaster.com.au/weber/29-weber-family-q-black-q…

All other stores I've come across have this unit listed for at least $750+ so I'm a little skeptical. Here's why:

  1. They don't offer PayPal as a payment option. Only direct deposit or credit card.
  2. I tried to call their 1300 number which simply did not work
  3. Can't find any additional information or a physical location for their offices/stores

I've submitted an order but have not made any payment. Sent in an email enquiry and now awaiting a reply.
Praying this is for real but ain't holding my breath.

Has anybody had experience with this site before?

  • Haven't heard of them before, and if they're nigh on uncontactable I think i'd walk away. Also notice their "only one at this price" on the item you're after.

If you can claim it back on your credit card if it's a scam, might be worth a run though

Their bank details are listed as:

    • Pay to: M.Fischer Service pty.ltd
    • Payment information: BSB: 062-200
      Account: 104-34-229

No such company as M Fischer Service Pty Ltd and that company name is completely different info from their whois:

    http://whois.domaintools.com/bbqmaster.com.au

    Registrant: PHIANTHAM, PAKWIPHA
    Registrant ID: ABN 17368055283
    ABR Info

Also very odd to offer a 5% discount for bank deposit payment but also charge a fee for credit card payment, seems they really want to make you pay by bank deposit which is the easiest to run away with.

Google search shows this forum thread as the only thing of interest :p Looks like a complete unknown, either a scam site or very new/poorly run.

    Run forest run!

  • According to Facebook Pakwipha Phiantham is the CEO of GoGo on the Go holding Pty Ltd, which also doesn't exist.

after seeing peoples comments in https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/252652 I'd steer way clear of anything similar

  • Scammers. They aren't authorised Weber resellers.

I stupidly went ahead and ordered a Weber Q bbq from this site a week ago after searching for negative reviews about bbqmaster.com.au online and finding nothing to indicate it was a scam website. Paid $239 via direct bank deposit. The page listing my order history states they are still "awaiting payment" despite the fact I contacted my bank and they assured me the money has been transferred to the sellers account. Tried to ring the customer service line, not connecting. I have so far had no reply to my polite email requesting clarification of my order status, and I'm getting increasingly worried. I will update on this thread re whether or not I receive the bbq I ordered, but not holding my breath.

    • Well this idiot bought a BBQ for $419! Minial correspondence with someone via email, it is supposed to be delivered today, it's 2pm and still nothing!!! Let me know how you go :( We suck! lol

    • pretty sure you have lost the money.
Report it to your bank and police, dont wait any longer as the bbq is not arriving.
      read this, same people https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/252652

        Yes, saw that.

Ah well, I've since contacted the bank awaiting a reply. They're always good to deal with so hopefully we can have this resolved.

BBQ never came as expected. Have contacted the bank, fair trade, scam watch and will contact police today.

        • Hope something works out for you.

99.9% sure it's a scam. All last week I searched google high and low to get the best price on a black Q3200, in the end I talked to the nice people at "The Energy Shop" Camperdown who sold it to me for $699. Tonight I was online searching for the old style cover for 3000 series Q,s which has been discontinued when I stumbled across this google top ad from BBQMASTER "Up to 50% off Weber" I was curios and to my shock I could see I could basically get one for under $500 with free delivery. I became skeptical and here's why.

    1. Obviously price was too low to start off with.
    2. They had a ridiculous return policy, 30 day satisfaction guarantee no fees.
    3. They just handed me a coupon discounting the whole order by a further 10%.
    4. Free delivery, these items would cost at least $50 to deliver, the box is huge.
    5. A further 5% off if I confirm the bank deposit on the same day. and no other payment method, why not keep the 5% and accept PayPal?
    6. They aren't listed as a dealer/stockist on the WeberAU site. (Busted!!)
    7. I searched the number and its a disposable 1300 number that can be purchased easily from www.veloxtelco.com.au.
    8. The site says been operating since 2005, I searched web archives and it hasn't existed before until very recently. Between 2013-2015 is was a site dedicated to recipes.
    9. Did a domain Whois search, ABN search too and his not registered for GST even though the order included GST.
    10. Lastly I actually had spoken to Weber customer service earlier in the day to track down the old cover, I was told they can't get it anymore, I told her i'll would try track down old stock online and she told me to be careful as there were apparent scammers selling Weber products online, I guess this was one of them!!!
    • Nicko82. These are good tips on what to watch out for that I'll definitely need to keep in mind. My biggest motto, too good to be true failed me, even though it was too good to be true. Sigh. I think this gives a cool headed checklist to stop the rush for a bargain. Thanks.

  • I too have been suckered in to the tune of $219.00 for a babyQ ordered on 21/11/16. Shame This wasn't posted a few days earlier. He told me on 28/11 the BBQ was being delivered on 29/11. Guess what, it is now 5/12 and all of a sudden he is not returning my emails
I did do some research before parting with my money, but obviously the odds are stacked against you when he is still advertising and no one seems to do anything about it.
What I did find out for what it's worth, like hamza23 said
    Bank details
    Pay M.Fischer service pty ltd
But bank details have changed to
    BSB 032035
    Account 335632
He is supposedly registered according to Australian-Companies.tsetso.info
    As as Australian Company
    Number 615597218
    Status. Regd
    Type. APTY
    Class. LMSH
I hold little hope of this ending amicably, but I do wish these scammers were not allowed to still operate when they have been exposed

    • Any luck recovery your money back ?

  • I got scammed too - informed my bank yesterday and also made a report on the ACORN website (Australian Cybercrime Online Reporting Network). I urge you guys to do the same. The more reports, the quicker this website can be shut down.

  • Must be a scam, also on another web site https://www.electronicsdeals.com.au/ same story and bank details, I ordered but then their About Us page could not be read and the phone number bogus!

  • Hi, my mum got scammed on this site… has anyone paid by direct deposit and been able to get a refund from their bank?

  • Wow, i only remember this mob from the deal that was posted above. Can't believe it's still up and running

  • You I urge everyone to ring Westpac Bank in Botany rd.Mascot Central, phone 0283353422 and tell them you were scammed by
    M.Fischer Service pty ltd
    Bsb032035
    Account 335632
His account is still open. I rang, and although I can't say this will do any good, it will certainly let bank staff know who they are dealing with.
I tried reporting this guy to local police, they didn't even do a report
I also reported him. To Scamwatch and ACORN.
I wasn't all that convinced that they were going to take it any further either.
I have put a public post on facebook with a screenshot of his advert warning people that this guy is a scammer.
I have also sent the same post to all people I know via email.
The more people that know about this scumbag, the less people he will be able to scam.

    • I was scammed to did you have any luck recovery your money back ?

  • This is a SCAM. I was scammed on 28/11/2016. Pretty much the same details as reported by others. Out of pocket $239. Professional looking website. Hindsight hurts. Company name M.Fischer Services Pty Ltd (he went fishing and caught me). BSB 062200, Acct 104 34 229. Today was when the shoe dropped. 1300 didn't work when I called to check my delivery and then I started doing internet search and came across this thread.I called my bank simply to report. Told me it is a CBA acct. Looks like they have several accounts given what others have reported. Bank will put in a request for recovery but we both agree it was a long shot. I have reported to scamwatch and also given Weber BBQ a call today and they are aware of them and reported them to relevant authorities to try and get the website shut down. I usually do a general internet search about bona fides of online retailers but the 'too good to be true, limited time offer' sucked me in and I didn't want to lose a bargain. So sadly, a lesson learnt.

  • ON LINE RETAILERS. Should be concerned about these scams, because I for one will NEVER buy anything on line again unless the seller accepts PayPal
    Once bitten twice shy

  • I also stupidly purchased from this site. Submitted a complaint through scamwatch and ACORN and at least I noticed today that the site has finally been suspended. Hopefully no one else can be scammed.

  • Im also a victim of this scam

    Electronicdeals.com.au

Seen a good offer paid $1518 for it

    M.Fischer Service pty.ltd
    Bsb 032035
    Account 335632

    Reported to Scamwatch and Acorn

Hopefully the bank can recover the money.
