  • Where do you get AU $40 for the Samsung Evo from? Shows $42.07 if you choose Amazon conversion. I used a Citibank card so should, in theory, be better than that. We shall see.

    • yeah it should, amazon conversion rate is horrible

Cool might jump on the 1060 for htpc (for 4k@60hz and light gaming). Missed out on a zotac 1050 the other day for $145 AUD delivered :(

    • Wow where was this 1050 145 deal? Man I missed out too :(

      • Heh it was a Zotac 1050 mini for $99 USD with Amazon Prime (got a trial).
I was gonna come back to it after checking other stuff but was too late and it was gone :(

Hoping for the 6gb version to go on sale. Going to be a long night.

  • Wow great deal on the 1060! Nice op.

  • Yeah, I'm so hoping Amazon drop the EVGA 6gb SC version from $259US… fingers x

hard to resist - hoping for a better deal for a 1070…
I may end up with a new PC build tonight from all the deals

  • Why did these Select models suddenly pop up? Does it sit in between the vanilla Evo and the Evo+? They all have 80MB/s read performance but what about the more important write performance?

  • So which is better? This, RX460, or RX480?

    • 1060 3GB beats 480 4GB by about 10% or so in DX11 games but 480 pulls ahead in DX12 and Vulkan games. 480 will be the better card into the future but otherwise the 1060 is the better card today.

    I'm guessing you mean 1060 vs rx480.

Depends on the game but generally the gtx1060 is faster.

I want to cry. I bought the very same EVGA GTX 1060 3GB SC for AUD 283 delivered from Amazon last month.

  • Thanks OP. I needed something cheapish that supports 4k.

  • Which (assuming both are the same price) is a better card, the EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 3GB SC or a factory overclocked GTX 970?

I got a feeling that the GTX 970 is still the better buy, what do you guys think?

    Thanks :)

  • On the 1060 I'm seeing $232USD and no shipping to Australia. Has the listing changed?

    • Out of stock. I had it in my cart and was about to checkout when it gave an error :(

  • Op, any news on when the 1060's will be back in stock?

  • SSD Price has gone back to US$137.
SD card still seems to be available though.

The 1060 currently shows a couple in stock that will ship to AU, but not at a worthwhile price

  • FYI

The 80MB/s is only the read speed on the microSD.
As a Class U1 card, the write speed will be a minimum of 10MBs, but won't be much faster than that (probably nowhere near the 20MB/s the description advertises).

If you wat faster write speeds for 4K recording, look for a U3 card, which will be minimum write speed of 30MB/s.
