  • Damn, almost paid this much for the 29" a while ago.

    • +1

yep I did that. but its was au stock, and the model was UM68 which hopefully has some better specs

  • is this any good for photo editing/processing?

    • -1

you'd be better off getting 3440x1440 34" monitor for that purpose, but theyre quite expensive, $800

this monitor is for gaming mostly, but this deal is really cheap, if i was looking for a monitor i'd purchase this for any purpose

      • Gaming ? and not even factory 100hz? only 60

        • He meant to say for consoles.

        • @stevarja:

Still crap for consoles because they dont support ultrawide

        • @XeKToReX: Some games on console do support ultra wide, for example ratchet and clank 2016 on ps4.

        • +1

It's an ultrawide gaming monitor which overclocks to 75hz and has freesync.. That means it's good for gaming.

With an IPS panel and close to full sRGB coverage, once calibrated it should be great for photos too.

        • @Ryballs: if you own a radeon. Which most people don't.

        • 60 is enough for none-fps game.
(i am heavy fps player + mmo)

        • @RI4V4N: UW and 75hz is still decent without freesync. My brother is using his with a GTX 950 while he waits for AMDs Vega to be released.

  • 910 sold in 24 hours

    • Listing shows 4500 sold including mine :D

  • Any warranty issues with the US stock?

    Heh, huffpost

This is my current monitor & its beautiful. IPS so the viewing angle and colors are great. Sure the 4k resolution would be nicer but if your gaming the frame rates will be low unless you have a 1080 and even then still not perfect yet. This Monitor can be overclocked to 75hz as well making it a little smoother. Good price. Picked mine up a year ago at msy for $530 and that was a bargain then. Warranty might be something to look at though.

If your looking for a gaming monitor and happy to take a risk (buying off international ebay) there's an amazing unit on ebay for around $300-$350 AUD Delivered. QNIX QX2710 LED Evolution ll [Matte] 27" 2560x1440. The monitors panel can be clocked to 92-102hz and uses a Samsung PLS (similar to IPS) panel.
there's a local review on youtube - "Best Kept Gaming Monitor Secret? QNIX QX2710 Review!" I've seen the monitor in action at a mates and it looks pretty sweet.
Like i said a bit of a gamble though.

    • Link?

I have been eagerly looking at black fridays hoping to get a good IPS - 144hz 1440 monitor. With G sync if I can but its proving difficult :(

      Does OC reduce its lifespan?

      • Exactly, BF deals in Australia were particularly underwhelming

    • i tried to look up this monitor u mentioned in order to buy it, and was amazed when i found out i had bought one of these already way back in 2014 and had had no idea it was capable of 1440p/100hz (or had forgotten it was capable since didn't have the GPU back then),

suddenly feel like I am much richer bcuz of this finding. thx!

      • +1

turns out my one isn't willing to overclock above 60hz without skipping frames.

        orz

    • BUT, it is 16:9

  • Wish I have gone for Curved screen with uhd. I got the 29" model. This is a good buy if you need those features.

    • Is curved necessary on a 29" Ultrawide?

I'm looking at getting the non-curved LG 29" (UWHD) version when it's about $350-ish, or just continue saving and wait for a curved 1440p 34" monitor to go on special. Cheapest I can find right now is the 34UC88-B for $970.

  • What about the plug? As in is it a proprietary cable? As that would be a big problem.

    • Do you mean power or video? Video is standard (HDMI or DP). Power is usually modular - a standard power brick with a removable lead. Shouldn't be an issue if it comes with a US lead (between wall and brick), just replace it with an standard AU one.

    • +1

LG usually have the standard 2 pin to the power brick, shouldn't be an issue

      • Great stuff, trying to purchase now!

        • +3

I have this monitor - it has a 3-pin to the power brick.

        • -1

@johnno07: same dif. They still cost $6 at any electronics store

        • @ONEMariachi: I feel like the shape of the actual plug is a fairly important distinction to make when talking about power cables. But yes, cheap and readily available. Less cheap if you buy the wrong one first.

        • @johnno07: I guess my original point was, that it'd be easily fixed once the product arrived.

  • That makes 2 purchases towards my new pc build. Ssd…. Check
    Monitor…… Check
Just need a good deal for gfx card

  • +1

If you played a game in 1920x1080, does it pretty comfortably sit in the centre of the screen?

    • its fine if you can deal with black borders

  • Nice Find!

I was hoping that the 29inch model from buydig was still on sale (so I could use the voucher code), but that had expired already. Then this monitor pops up! 1010 sold in the last 24 hours!

  • I'm getting "This Redemption Code cannot be used to pay for items in this auction category."… Strange :(

    • +1

make sure you are using the code via ebay.com.AU website

  • I saw Linus did a review on the '67 model, and was wondering about the difference between the '57 model. Apparently the '67 has speakers and DVI, which the '57 lacks:

Here is a review of the '67 model by Linus Tech Tips: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o1QKx7IDw6Y . Just ignore the DVI and speakers and you can use it for your buying decision.

  • -1

very low resolution for such a big screen, I wont buy it for editing work.

  • How does this work with such a long screen?
If I played a movie would it be stretched at fullscreen?

    • +1

Movies are filmed in 21:9,so you will not have the black bars, and it will be "perfect". Youtube videos will have the opposite effect, where there are black bars on the side, because there is no support for that resolution yet.

      • +3

This but depends on the movie, there are at least two major standards.

Can anyone recommended this monitor for a share trading platform. Or recommend something else.

    • +1

      Try a 28"+ 4K monitor

  • Bought one. No doubt

  • +1

Been waiting so long for a good deal on a 34" 1440p. So I bought this..

Could always sell it when I find a better deal.

    • +1

Not after this deal.. :) everyone after a 34" now have bought through this one..

      • +1

        True that.

I could become a hackerman and have dual ultrawides.

  • +1

Not letting me apply the C10YAY code. Anyone else having problems?

    • Is that code for Australia only?

    • Worked for me, you have to use paypal…
Hope they deliver as paid for.

  • +1

Bought one of these a bit over a year ago for $550 - and I love it. If I had my time again, I would go for a higher res model, but they are a lot more expensive. Brilliant screen.

    • +1

Do you know if you can overclock to 75hz with a nvidia gpu?

      • I did not know that. Now I do. Now I'm running it at 75Hz. Thank you!

        • +2

um. You missed the 'if' in the question. I was asking, not telling you!

But I guess that's a yes which is awesome

  • +1

Bought one for my bros Xmas present. Thanks OP!

  • wa, so cheap, thanks.

  • Bought two, one for upgrading my 29um67 and other one for my mate whos gonna built his one nuc.. nothing better for a starter i guess

  • Not worth it for me due to warranty. LG gives 1 year warranty vs 3 years of other brands and this store in the US does NOT cover return shipping.

    • +1

If you're buying through PayPal they'll cover return fees!

  • Can anyone recommend a wall mount for this monitor?

  • Looks like a awesome buy, pity I have an NVIDIA card. I'm in the market for a 4k monitor for my new 1070.

  • +1

Finally ordered. Tried to hold out but couldn't resist any longer. Thanks OP!

  • 2560x1080 😐

    • +4

Get what you pay for. 1440p is gonna be double the price

Will this work on Australian powerpoints/our power output? Or will we need to get adapters and other additional things to make it work? Cheers

  • +1

So I was buying the monitor, jump on the app, check out, everything went smooth until it said I don't have enough funds on my card, try again for a few times, no succeed either, then I uickly check my account, "PayPal *Globalshipping" appears 6 times on my account, then I went back and see that the fund are being refund, but PayPal still holding on to my money. Guessing it will be out of stock soon :(

  • I really want a curved but this price seems like a great deal. are there any curved ones on sale?

  • +1

May be a stupid question, but surely with this screen size and its resolution for a computer monitor text/webpages ect would be pixelated??

    • this is what i'm worried about, was about to impulse that buy button until I saw the resolution. Would love to know how it looks about 50cm from face anyone?

      • 500 mm from screen with horizontal width of 819?
Time to go to showroom and look at same res/sized discontinued screens?

        • Yes I believe so. But I just realised my GPU doesn't have displayport and the HDMI only outputs to 1920. Otherwise I would most probably be buying

    • Its essentially a really wide 27 inch monitor at 1080p. If you can deal with that, then this is fine for you.

      • Coming from a 30" 16:10 the slight drop in PPI with the increased real estate is a decent trade off. Hopefully they can actually supply what they offer…

  • Has the price increase?

    I got
    US$249.99 + US $58.21 (shipping) = US$308.20
    less 10% = US$277.38
    estimate about AUD$399 ?

    How do you get AUD$381

    • You do realize that the Aussie dollar fluctuates daily? When OP posted this, could be when the Aussie dollar was going strong and if you see that the price has increased, then the dollar has fallen.

    • +2

      Mine ended up costing $395.59.

      • Will come down to the rate paypal charges on the forex. My receipt showed 381.17, but that will change as the cash is debited from the bank.

        • Does the currency exchange happen at PayPal or from Bank/CC?

        • @alterego: paypal I think

395.25 in total purchased on 28th

  • Would pixelation on normal office applications be noticeable coming from a 24" FHD Dell monitor?

  • Tracking updates quite regularly and appears on the Purchase history item.
Last update for me was: Customs Documentation and Labeling

    Dec-01-16, 02:43 AM, Erlanger, Kentucky 41025-2501
Just hope the packaging survives the trip hahaha

  • +2

Just got mine and set it up. Absolutely loving it right now.

    • +1

Good on ya. Mine keeps showing (4 Dec 13:47) "In Transit with Destination carrier, Chicago, IL" with 3 day 10 hours ago as of now. No further update so far. Don't know when it will reach Australia.

How many days does it take yours for this step "In Transit with Destination carrier, Chicago, IL"?

  • 4 days. Beware to everyone that they just leave the package outside your door if you're not home. Can't believe they call that 'safe drop'.

    • WHAT? Surely that would be the local delivery partner?…
Do you remember what date you ordered epicttiimm?

Also, on the 27th (US time) "Exchange rate: 1 Australian dollars = 0.7165 US dollars"

      • 26th. Yeah, Auspost just left the monitor on my doorstep. For me there was no extra packaging other than the actual box the monitor comes in.

        • Wow, just wow.
I ordered on the 27th, and am not expecting arrival until January now…
Did the package arrive in fair condition?

        • Out of interest epictiimm, did you track the item in Australia?
Mine is showing as DAI Melbourne handed over to 30 hours ago, so if Auspost do Saturday Delivery I might be in business…

        • +1

          @GDavid:
          Just got mine today.
If you got a MyPost account, the item will be automatically added to it where you can see further tracking info.
