Bought one of these (well sort of same model - different colour face and strap) a couple of weeks ago. Just arrived so we will see how accurately it performs over the next few weeks.

For a $30 watch it looks quite good although something a little thinner would be nice. I'll wear it around the yard and at the beach where I don't want to damage my expensive watch.

I'm a bit mystified by the "water resistant to 30 metres but don't wear it swimming" description on Amazon, suggesting it will withstand splashes but not much else. I would have thought 30 metres was pretty good for swimming!

The documentation that comes with it suggests it is good for swimming, just don't try to adjust it underwater because that could let water in!

    • Some people say they are noisy, how is yours?

(Had a weekender for a year or so)

There's a definite tick. It seems to suddenly go from silent to obvious when my office is quiet, or at night.

I've had watches with ticks I couldn't ignore. This one is quiet enough to fade off once you stop paying attention.

      • I've got one too and I can hear it from the next room when I'm trying to snooze. I kind of like it though so YMMV

Up close it sounds like a wall clock but there is enough ambient noise around me and I don't keep the watch by the bed at night so no issue for me.

BTW: So far it looks very accurate - lost about a second maybe.

    • https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Water_Resistant_mark << Unfortunately the water resistance is measured in pressure, not distance underwater.

Water Resistant 10 atm or 100 m Suitable for recreational surfing, swimming, snorkeling, sailing and water sports. Not suitable for diving.
Water Resistant 20 atm or 200 m Suitable for professional marine activity, serious surface water sports and skin diving. Suitable for skin diving.

I love these timex watches. Lasted several years already and the night light feature is great. Bought one for my grandma as well and she loves it

    • Say hi to your Grandma for me.

  • How many watches do you have 28Degrees? (Serious question lol)

    • Not many, about 10 & a few of those are just Skmei cheapos which are great.

      • Whats ur favourite one? You seem to have a thing for watches with SS band (Seiko /Orient). But then you also post deals on many Casios. My current EDC watch is the Citizen BV1085-14e (bought on the deal you posted lol). I changed the band to NATO so its comfy and also put a tempered glass screen on cos I'm afraid of scratching the face. Recently just bought a Timex cos of the INDIGLO night light.

  • I have one of these, per comments above great watch but a little loud. My tip: buy the cheapest version you can from Amazon (i.e. regardless of whether you like the strap colour) and then order a variety of bands in colours you like from AliExpress (as low as ~$21 for 10). The NATO straps are super easy to switch.
