I've been waiting around for you to post because I "neeed" a new watch! 45mm seems very big tho

    • It wears small because it's not too thick, my wrist is 6.75" and it looks fine.

    • +1

Depends on how big your wrists are. 45mm watch is perfect on my large manly wrists.

Good bang for your buck watch. Just quite large

Some good auto seikos around 100-180 USD that run closer to 40mm including but not limited to the venerable skx007

Much better than jewellery shop stuff here

This watch is a great beater, quartz dive watch with decent water resistance. The casio wears small than its size. The lug to lug width (which is probably more important on smaller wrists) is 48.5mm, which is not too big, so it shouldn't hang over your wrists. For those interested in throwing one on a NATO, the lug width is 22mm.

It's been at this price for a while, but it's certainly cheaper than eBay etc. Been close to dropping on one, but I can't justify one at the moment.

This article has good review for those interested. http://divewatchesblog.com/reviews/casio-mdv106-1a-review/

It's been at this price for a while.

That's true but today is the first time I have noticed that it will ship to Australia, I have been looking at it on Amazon for over 1 year.

I think it's been about a week approx (a while is a long time around here!). Now is definitely the time to jump on one then.

  • Good deal

  • Nice watch. Wish it was on Amazon UK so I could use the 10 pound voucher from Prime/Audible deal

  • Nice watch.

Find me a super deal on a non-quartz Grand Seiko :-)

  • Anyone have good deals on SKX007's?

"best" dive watch ? What is this, 1985? It does not even have a depth gauge.

    • +1

I never said it was the best dive watch.

The word "diver" is generally a genre these days. More about the aesthetics really. Plenty are only 100m rated too. The Casio is a pretty respectable "diver" though for its intended purpose - a beatem up, cheap dive watch with decent water resistance.

      • +1

The term 'diver' or 'tool' watch pretty much sums up a style or genre of watches. Realistically, no-one in their right mind would be Diving wearing a 50 Fathoms or a 'Planet Ocean' or an AP Royal oak or a JLC Master Compressor or even a Rolex Submariner. Those watches are fashion/wealth statements, much too expensive to wear for anything remotely damaging.

Dive/Tool watches are a particular style that many find appealing. The watch in this deal is a cheap quartz watch probably useful for wearing when you are playing Polo or having the Butler chip some ice off of the iceberg you've had choppered in from the Nth Sea to your cool room for use in your Single Malt Scotch and you don't want to risk scratching the crystal on your Girard-Perregaux Sea Hawk!

my omega seamaster gets used at 30 metre under water regularly, also looks good as a fashion watch but also a great workhorse

      • @ilikeit :

For a watch to be a "diver" it has to meet ISO 6425. This watch doesn't and Casio don't call it a diver.

    Thank OP

I just want to buy one by how you speak so passionately about it…

FML why i have no money

Looks like a nice copy of (Roger Moore as) James Bond's Rolex Submariner Ref. 5513:

(around a third of the way down)

Might get it just for that reason! LOL

    • I think that's why people buy this bracelet to go with it but it won't post to Aus - Ritche 22mm SS Bracelet USD$10.99.
Looks good with a straight end bracelet also, see here.

      • Maybe this one will fit but it doesn't actually say - $6.49 delivered.
The curved ends silver 22mm looks just like the Ritchie

  • Was just about to buy one. I measured my wrist and reckon that 45mm is a fraction too big for me. OP should you know of any good watch please post & let us OzBargainers know. Especially if there is a bonus $5 discount for "referee" such as this watch.

    • What size is your wrist? Mine is 6.75" which I consider small and it looks fine.
Let me know your budget and style you like if you want something else.

      • My wrist is 55mm wide. I am confused. Do you mean your wrist is 67.5mm wide because 6.75inch is 165mm!!!

        • That is the diameter, you need a cloth tape to measure it. I'm 172mm in metric.
I have an aviator watch that is 48mm and I think it still looks ok on me.

        • @28Degrees: Thanks for clarifying. Just found a cloth tape. Diameter of my left wrist is 155mm or 15.5 inch.

        • @Apsley:

You're going to be disappointed just like the ladies you have been misleading with your measurements.

          1" = 2.54CM

@Maverick-au: Oops! This is a comedy of errors. Not surprising since I failed Maths at Kindergarten. Was only allowed to proceed to Year 1 school on the condition that I never ever again study Maths lest I drive the Maths teachers insane. Just realised another error too. It should be "Circumference" not "Diameter." :)

  • got one for $55aud shipped!

    • Wow that's cheap, how did you manage that?

      • +1

Used a $5 referral code from downloading the Amazon Shopping app, and also had some credit ($0.97) from doing Mechanical Turk stuff.

Looks like a nice watch, I have a a black leather band that should hopefully fit it too.

  • +1

Mine got delivered today. Really nice watch, especially for ~$60AUD. I am happy to not have to wear my more expensive watch everywhere now.

    • +2

Thanks for the update, do you like the resin strap or are you going to change it?

      • I'll probably leave it for the moment - turns out the only 22mm band I have lying around is a banged up stainless steel one.
The resin feels good and looks fine to me.
        Thanks for the post!

        • +2

No probs, yeah I don't mind the resin strap. I haven't changed mine.
The black on silver is what a traditional diver should look like to me.

Watch got delivered today. It's awesome and fits perfectly on my wrist. Had trouble getting the crown open but eventually it worked. This will perhaps be my daily driver after my g-shock.
