  • OP what is your thoughts on the watch a year on?

    • I love the diver style and this is a perfect watch in my opinion, it's the only watch I would never sell.
Just beware that it's automatic so if you don't wear it often it will stop running after a day.

    • +3

I've had mine 12 years. They work well, although the automatic movement is less accurate, so mine loses a few minutes a week. The glass is not a strong as I'd like and it has gotten scratched over the years, I'll replace it with a sapphire dome one day. Great for scuba diving. Lots of parts available and customisation options if you are in to that sort of thing.

      • have you had a service and if so, how much was it?

        • No, never have. A service may resolve the time keeping but as I dive with the watch I'd worry more about the water resistance.

        • i had my skx007 serviced in melb for $80. It was running slow and i had mine for 10 years, first service.

    • +3

SKX007 is a great classic Seiko divers. Tried and proven reliable mechanical movement. They say the real divers will leave their Rolex and Omegas at home and take the Seiko diving!

  • Is this the cheapest price at the moment for this Seiko Diving Watch?

    • If you mean an SKX007, no you can get them for $261.70 on rubber from Singapore but they don't qualify for a $100 eBay voucher.

        • +1

It's out of stock plus you need to add another US$50.63 (AU$66.00) for delivery, so the total would be
AU$306.00 delivered with no $100 voucher.

        • @28Degrees: True that. Did you get the silver or rubber? If silver, have you changed it?

        • +1

@Ozjoey: The price difference is minimal, so I ordered it with the jubilee bracelet.
I haven't changed it yet, but do like the look on rubber.

        • @28Degrees: Does it come with the rubber strap as well? Reviews have said it loses time throughout the day, is that true? Have you taken it diving/snorkelling/swimming?

        • @Ozjoey: No it doesn't come with both, but the point is you are financially better off buying it with the jubilee bracelet to start with. Mine runs a bit fast, automatic watches aren't as accurate as quartz, that's not the point of buying one, it's more about buying a timepiece. I haven't taken it in the water at all.

There is a lot of information on this watch on forums like Watchuseek, so just do a search.
I also linked to some reviews in the description.

          @28Degrees: Thanks

        • @28Degrees: Is yours the Malaysian one or Japanese one which has 21 Jewels on it??? There are two types of this watch. Is the Japanese version available as well?

        • @Ozjoey: Mine is the one in this deal post, the other one is SKX007J and costs a lot more.
Differences Between SKX007K and SKX007J Explained
          Watchuseek SKX007J2-Jub Watch vs. SKX007K2

        • @28Degrees:
Thanks why didn't you buy the SKX009K2 then??

        • @Ozjoey: Didn't want to.

  • $264 delivered - no box from Skywatches.

    No Voucher

    http://www.skywatches.com.sg/reviews/seiko-automatic-200m-sc…

    • So where would you buy it from if you were going to buy one?

      • Depends if had something else to buy from ebay during the voucher period or not. If not then I would save $46

        • +1

Sometimes you have to think outside the box, there are lots of other things you can do with the $100 voucher besides buying something for yourself, especially coming up to Christmas.

        • Or I could spend it on a Casio Edifice EF305-1AV from amazon for $46 :)

        • +1

@newxr: I wouldn't buy Casio EF305-1AV as you can't change the band on it to anything else. Once it breaks you are locked into buying the exact same thing.
The fact that you are even looking at this posts tells me you should only be considering the Casio MDV106-1AV, nothing comes close to it in that price range.

Casio Diver MDV106-1AV USD $48.07 Delivered (Approx AUD $63.50) @ Amazon

        • I have had a EF305-1Av for 4 years now. Bought it when the aussie $ was better placed and paid a princely $39. It has been one of the most reliable timepieces. Shower, swimmimg, beach etc never missed a beat. The battery is easy to replace as well. As for the strap - not sure if you would want to at that price but google is your friend.

  • ugh - just bought the Orient Ray II yesterday! This is a great deal for the SKX.

    K1 $234 delivered http://www.eglobaldigitalcameras.com.au/seiko-conceptual-reg…

Non hacking and no manual winding, so I never bought one.

    • +3

Amazon is a US website, so it comes to approx AU$277.00 delivered with no $100 voucher.

  • A very nice watch indeed, if and only if it can be manually winded and hackable it will be perfect.

Got mine for around 240 early this year, K version as well but Pepsi bezel

  • +2

Bought a SKX in the last eBay sale and it hasn't left my wrist. It kind of felt small as first for 42mm, but it's super comfy and I'm a big fan of crown at 4. There's plenty of space in between the case and the fat spring bars to swap out a nato strap in seconds. Over the last week it has lost 2.6 seconds which is fantastic for this movement. Whilst it doesn't hack or wind, with a quick shake it cranks into life. Considering it will easily go 10 years without a service, cheap spare parts and ruggedness, this amazing watch is definitely a keeper.

    • +1

Yeah and you got it for a steal to top it off.

      • +1

If I didn't have a Tisell sub on the way, I would be tempted on another one to mod.

  • How do you get a $100 voucher?

  • +1

The Jubilee bracelet included is pretty cheap and rattly. Can always be replaced with a Super Oyster or similar

  • What's the clock drift like?

    • +4

To be honest if I look at it too long I get a little bit of cock drift.

  • I'm interested in getting one to replace my 10+ year old T-Touch, especially one that hopefully would be tougher. Does anyone have any experience with the Casio Triple-Sensor watches with/without solar/atomic timekeeping? Casio seems like a tougher brand than Tissot…
