not sure if it will be cheaper in the system like the bigger one,but still good price,I was gonna buy the stanley 133pc tool kit for $224.1 using ebay 10% off deal plus 51% off for supercheap catalog sale: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/222241774229
But didn't need the tools, went over to Bunnings and saw these, the 5 drawer one @79 is similar size to the Stanley one linked above minus the tools

  • Good deal! Just wish it wasn't 22 hour drive away.

    • Local Buunings may have them?

  • +1

They had a huge number of the larger red ones at Bunning North Parramatta (in Sydney) a few days ago. A entire end display, plus more on a pallet near the more expensive products.

I took a close look at them and rejected them due to the nasty quality. The castors were especially horrid. Plus lack of drawer liners, stiff drawer movement, the manual finger-chopping top lid stays, and overall shittiness of construction.

However, for under $100 it might be worth a second look - I am never one to let quality get in the way of price LOL

    • You are correct, quality is not the same compare to the more expensive ones, but the next more expensive one is Trojan@ $399 on clearence(originally $499),similar build quality, only after a sub $300 drawer at this stage, does the job for me.and why didn't they include drawer liner!
kincromes are built much better, but a lot more expensive, out of my budget atm

  • These are total crap but if you're after some cheap shit
I looked at these and ended up with a masters special

    • And how much is the master one?any link?

      • 200-60%
Gearwrench stuff is good value there now too,but much more than this
No link, you have to go into a store, and probably more than one to find any stock

        • Going to masters tomorrow, will see whats still there

  • The big blue one behind it looks good…..wasn't tempted to splurge on that one?

    • +1

That one is close to a grand, don't have the matching tools to go in there:D $99 one does the job for me.

this one has better build quality than the 133pc Stanley tool kit drawer if anyone want to know.a bit thicker, slide out drawers feels more intact

  • I bought the larger trojan one behind. Great toolbox for the price.

    • How much is that?I think it's just under $600 for both drawer and cabinet if I recall right, anyway, way out of my budget.
there is another Trojan one about similar size to the craftright kit for $399(originally $499),has build in BT speakers if anyone is interested, and yes, comes with drawer liner:D

  • Sidchrome ones are good too… but quite expensive. Splurged on one and didn't regret it, now my tools are all well placed and i use them heaps more.

    • Thanks for sharing your feedback on Sidchrome,I'm just sharing a value for money drawer, not trying to argue this drawer is the best quality.I'm totally aware there are superior products out tgere for more $

  • This is the 5 drawer one:
    https://www.bunnings.com.au/craftright-5-drawer-tool-chest-a…

    Can't find the8 drawer one.

    • As I said,it's on clearence, hence why not on their website anymore,I suspect they are getting rid of craftright range,5 drawer one is the only craftright drawer on their website now.

      • Just tool boxes or all the tool range?

        • Hi,there are some random tools on clearence, but I think different stores has different clearence items

  • I have the identical red ones from Repco (just a different name badge). This is a good price. Not pro quality but great for a home shed. I put mine in my car often so I put rare earth magnets in the back to the drawers to stop them opening when I accelerate. I also replaced the wheels as I roll them into people homes, schools and businesses. I used a hand trolley on its side underneath and added some nice quality casters with locks for the other end. Hard to explain but it works great. They are light enough for my requirements which those fancier, bigger, more expensive ones simply would not suit for me and my unique situation. Mine have been knocked over a couple of times and in / out of my car hundreds of times. 4+ years old and they are going well.

So to a pro mechanic - they might be too cheap, for me they are perfectly light and were easily modified for my needs. I also have one as standard (no modifications) in my shed for my tools. It sits in the corner 99% of the time and on the occasions I roll it, the basic little wheels are fine. A pro tool? No. A Pro tool price? Hell no! I love my 4 units.

    • Curious how much were they?it was on clearence at bunnings without any indication of original price.I guess they would be around $250 rrp.

  • Box Hill in Melb Metro have the red 8 drawer (bout 6 left $98.90), 6 drawer (bout 5 left/still scans at $139) and black 5 draw (as advertised $79.95).
The Craftright Red ones were a promotional item for fathers day.
Only Box Hill has stock in all of melb metro.
For $100, 8 draw is great.

    • yea,8 drawer one feels more sturdy than the 5 drawer one
