  • Compensate the people who miss the tech glitch couple weeks ago?

    • +1

or people like me who booked it but their third party back yard website didn't process the sale :'(. (I'll never get over it).

      • Which site did you use? How did you find out it stuffed the booking up?

        • budgetair.com.au - they sent an email like 12 hours after the sale saying that the price is no longer available, my guess is they don't book at the time you book but do it later on in the day / night.

You want compensation because you missed a deal?

I may have found a potential listing error?

SYD to TSV is advertised @ $94, selected dates from 1.02.17 to 28.02.17.
In skimming through all the dates (with 2 guests selected) all fares are full tilt.

I do not believe there are any VA reps on OZB?

    • You got me excited when you said 'listing error'… they've probably just run out of bargain fares.

      • +2

That was my initial thought, however there is no fares shown as "Sold Out", every date is available, albeit at full tilt.
I would put my money on a mapping error, linking the fares with the offer.

I have reached out to VA, see what comes of it.

  • Am I missing all the deals? Seems like normal price.

Thanks for posting this OP :D Just added the 10% off code and found flights Melbourne to Brisbane for only $89! Price matched with Jetstar and used up some voucher we had lying around! Great deal.

      thanks.

were you traveling in a group of 2 or more people?

good thing about Virgin is that 23 kg of check-in luggage is included in your flight ticket, and you get a snack too :-)

      • +1

Yes, I booked with my SO :) I wondered about the baggage too (although we are only going overnight), but Jetstar added 20kg to our ticket to match Virgin. I guess Virgin is a bit nicer and it's good to have a snack, but honestly last time all they gave us was a packet of pretzels, and the time before that, a 1/3 sized museli bar.

And Virgin lost my SO's luggage the last time we went on holiday, from Melbourne-Hobart. It happens- not a huge deal- we weren't expecting a grovelling apology or anything, but the person we spoke to at the airport was so rude. She just said "oh it's been sent the the Gold Coast- don't worry, it usually comes back the next day". It did come back late the next day, and they refused to cover any part of what we had to buy, like toiletries, underwear etc. They have also cancelled flights and rebooked employees at my work onto flights hours later (like- leaving ADL-MEL at 2pm to leaving at 8pm). Though a call usually fixed this and they get put onto the 1pm or 3pm flight. I just don't get WHY put them on an 8pm flight to begin with. Actually I guess there are only a certain amount of seats on each plane.

Jetstar cancelled our flight in Queenstown earlier this year and reimbursed us for a hotel for two nights, meals and gave us $75 each in vouchers. I guess we didn't mind too much because it was an extended holiday, they were very apologetic, and the process to get reimbursed was simple, and they responded the next day saying the money was on its way.

I know everyone's experience is different, but I don't mind Jetstar. In hindsight I could have booked one way Jetstar and one way Virgin. Hopefully they don't cancel our flight again this time and make me eat my words :P

  • Worth checking qantas as well. Looks like they are offering similar prices, not sure if they are intentionally trying to match this sale or not, but some dates I need to book are actually cheaper with qantas.
