        • @kev98: crap! Loss $500!

  • how much for installation?

    • Should be around $600-700 each. Ouch!

      • crazy!

        • that includes $200-$300 for the thieving electrocution to get his cut

  • Yeah I think installation is gonna kill you and having 7 units hanging around your house isn't exactly eye pleasing you should've just got ducted?

    • I have evaporative but it will not good on a hot and humid day like last week. Also, to run ducted and connect to the existing pipes to 2 floors is much more expensive and big job and a mess while you are living in the house.

You are correct, won't be eye pleasing but it's a only option for us now.

      • Your 2.5kW units will be more energy efficient than ducted too.

    • I have 6 units installed for each room, but I brought all outdoor units to one location. so it is not much bad. each install cost me 750$.

  • I'm keen on the 5kw unit, what's cheapest method to get it?

  • 7 outdoor units. 7 x the servicing cost. 7 x the filters.

    • Panasonic recommends cleaning the filters weekly. I know ours collects a bit of dust so we're cleaning it quite often but not weekly.

      • +1

Weekly? That's crazy. 1 a year I think good enough.

        • It also recommends cleaning the ion emitter with a q-tip every six months.

      • Is that the filter on the inside unit?
Whst do you do? Just vacuum it?

        • Yes, the filters are on the inside unit. I think they can be washed in the sink but I gently use a vacuum cleaner.

        • @twocsies:anything on the outside unit?

        • +1

          @albanyson:
Nah just make sure the outside unit isn't covered in crap (dirt, spiderweb etc)

      • Clean my filters 3 to 4 times a year

  • Cool, will try to do that. Never do it before so hope it does not take too much time. Do you know how to do that? Cheers

  • Dammit, i just bought 3 units from the Harvey normans deal yesterday

    • What deal? I picked 2 3.5Kw yesterday with $100 eftpost and $60 harvey norman gift card each.

  • scraped in with 3 mins to spare after buying gift vouchers + having 1 card declined

    • I had an problem at checkout too. Paypal transaction went through at 12.00.16am.. checking eligibility for store credit with them now.

Isn't that HN is better deal with Eftpos card than TGG store credit and $5 cheaper or am I missing something?

    Re: Installation
Can any electrical licence do it or have to be air conditioning installer?

    • +1

      $769 (Was $857) + $100 Store Credit + $100 Payback (The Good Guys) = $569

    • +1

The air conditioning installer must be ARC licensed to handle the refrigerants. http://www.build.com.au/how-check-air-conditioner-installers…

The rules may vary by state. Also see http://www.licensedtrades.com.au/licensed/air-conditioning

The other question is whether your electrical system can handle the air conditioner. If no wiring changes are needed then the air conditioner installer may be able to do it all (depends on the state and how many trade certifications they hold).

Some air conditioning installers can do both the AC and electrical.

  • Sorry, i cannot work it out,
$769 (Was $857) meaning price match with HN?

  • I think this deal has expired

  • Can anyone do me a solid and let me know the size of the boxes ?

Trying to work out which car to take to pickup.

    Thanks!

  • Anyone know how to claim the $100 store credit?

    • +1
