Freixenet Vintage Cava 2013 12 Bottles for $84 Delivered @ WineMarket

210

EDIT: Now with 20% off instantly via ebay 20% CORK20 coupon, $84 total before cashrewards
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/280275

Price drop and free delivery on by far my favorite budget sparkling. $105 with $8.40 cashrewards credit available if ordered from winemarket. $105 delivered on ebay if you have some coupons available.

I buy this case every time its under $120 delivered, and every time I order a case of something different I regret it and just wish I ordered more of this. I'm no wine snob but I like sparkling, and have had my fair share of krug and dom and the like, and this is my favorite thing under $70 (however I am a big fan of dry sparkling and this is very dry; and I like it's fruity / citrus flavors. Most prosecco's are a bit too sweet for me).

Don't forget about Cashrewards 21% cashback

  • I've been using this site for ages, but can't remember if you're meant to include the cashrewards discount in the price in the title or list that separately. Which is the best practice?

    • I'd do $105($96.60 with CR)

But thanks for the tip we were just discussing which cheap xmas bubbles!

    Hi Eneloopy,

Not sure if you have purchased your Freixenet from Winemarket yet however we ran a Cyber Monday 21% Cashback promotion with Cashrewards (no minimums and no exclusions) that was to be extended to end of day today. I've just checked their website and the cashback amount has dropped for some reason so I've reached out to let them know, in any case any sales from Monday till end of day today will be honoured with 21% cashback i.e the Freixenet in the end will only cost you $82.98!

    Thanks

    • sold! CR has the 21% back up

    • No it wont. Its ~$89

    • I bought a couple of cases based on the increased cash back but it's only tracked at the lower amount.
Any way you can fix this up Rep?

      • Hey smalldeadchris, we'll definitely work with the Cashrewards team to ensure all purchases from 28/11 through 30/11 cashbacked at the appropriate amount.

        • Thanks. This wine is a great deal even with the normal cash back rate. Just made better by the increased rate.

        • I bought 2x cases and CR tracked at $32.07 Does not seem to work out. I contacted CR and they said it was accurate as it is GST exclusive. I am still totally confused by how the amount is calculated as it was $190 ex GST.

EDIT: CR rep just got back to me. Turns out it was an error. Advise everyone to review cashback amount

  • Thanks OP - great deal :)

Its not 21% cashback on the total.
It appears they calculate 21% cashback off the exGST price. So its actually only ~15%

My $177 order came thru as cashback on $160

Still a god deal, but Very cheeky

    • Good point though to be fair most places I've shopped at do calculate the cashback on the exGST price - BUT the rep for Winemarket (@Winemarket-Langtons) should be aware of this and shouldn't be quoting an incorrect and thus misleading price.

PS. My first buy (as I did one for the inlaws and neighbours as well!) tracked - CR's email advised SALE VALUE: $286.36 CASHBACK: $48.11 - so looks like 16.8% to me - odd calculation and really not kosher to be stating 21% but paying anything but 21% - that said 16.8% is still VERY good so why not just say that?

      • Apologies for the confusion there, it's our first time with an increased cashback so we'll ensure to display correctly going forward!

      • This is the first one I've seen ex-gst.
Dan, Cellarmasters, Coles, Ebay, have all been % off the full price.

But back to the calc, yeah it's weird.
        Order was $177
CR email says order $160.90 & cashback $27.03 (which is ~$17%)

I'll have to chase this one up

        • Yup, my 2nd buy for the morning was sale of AUD371.81, casbback AUD 62.46. Again around 16.8%.

Is a bit of a PITA as I told these folks there'd be 21% CB and sold them on the prices with that in mind - so extra hassle BUT the prices are still excellent and they did track SUPER fast, so IMHO those balance it out.

@Winemarket-Langtons, I get what you're saying but you guys have had chasbacks for a long period and therefore calculating what you're paying as a cashback and on what it's calculated should be a lot more straight forward for all parties i.e can't say 21% back then somehow pay 16.8% on the exGST amount - what was a very generous offer then takes on a slight taint.

Still much credit for extending your Cyber Monday offer - here's hoping confusion is corrected in the future. :-)

          @Nikko:

Hey Guys, I've just had a chat with the Cashrewards crew and there was an error in the way we submitted to them so all purchases prior to just now should be reflected in the system as a true 21% by tomorrow and any purchases for the reminder of today should now be registering at 21% (Promo ends midnight tonight)

        • @Winemarket-Langtons: FWIW both purchases I made are still incorrect at original ~16.8% cb in CR's system - I have asked them to look into linking them to this thread and the comments by winemarket-langtons.

        • @Nikko:

Good to hear Nikko, I've just followed up with them as well and it looks like the issue is close to being resolved.

  • Thanks, picked up a case. Great value, even without the CR!

Is 2013 getting a bit old for a NV - Just wondering?

    • GOOD POINT - something I paused on for a sec before buying.A quick search says 3-4yrs for NV - so likely this would be fine and best consumed within the next 6-12mths, which would prolly have been the pattern with 95% of buyers.

But still a very good point. :-)

Actually, this is a vintage sparkling wine. The vintage is 2013 and it's their most recent release, so it's the youngest wine available in this label. There's absolutely no need to worry about it being too old (assuming it has been stored well.)

It's not a brilliant wine, but it's actually cheaper in this deal than it is in Europe, so in that context it is a bargain.

  • Picked up, Cheers. Cashrewards shows Sale Value $95.45, expected Cashback $20.04. I paid $105.

    • it looks like the 21% was calculated on exGST. Rep above seems to indicate that it was a mistake & has asked CR to fix it. But I won't hold my breath.
Still even with the lower cashback you got it for ~6.30/bt. Which is excellent.

  • On my last bottle of sparkling rose from these guys so perfect timing - thanks OP

  • How long does this normally take to ship?

  • Noticed Ebay sale includes this store. 20% off the $105 plus cash rewards brings it down to approx $83 per case delivered. OP may wish to add to post https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/280275
