First timer here :-)

I was looking for an AV Receiver some time and eyeed for the Denon-AVRX2300WBKE2. It has never been so cheap so I don't know how long it lasts. It's currently EUR 444.00 which brings it down EUR 373.11 ex Tax, plus EUR 84,97 delivery. Anyway, I believe it's still around 50% cheaper than in Oz..

Oh curses! I ordered the X1300W when it was on sale at Amazon.de last week.

The X2300W adds a few niceties, like 15kW more power, 2 more HDMI in, a second HDMI out, video processing and component video switching.

No local warranty either (but the fact it's half the local price means you can ship another one out and still be no worse off).

      15kW!!!!!!! We could only hope…

Oops. A very Spinal Tap error there! I'm sure the amp will still go to 11 though.

        FIFTEEN KILLAWASPS!

Good price, but please be aware you will not receive Australian support for this product if purchased overseas.

      Do you work for Qualifi?

  • Maybe that's it's 7.2 in title..

  • WOW - I am in the market for sub-$500 amp, but this is very tempting, well rated and well reviewed all around…

  • Great price

I wish they'd stop making these things so big and ugly.

    • Then you'll either have to go to a digital amp or sacrifice power to each speaker. Neither of which bother me personally, but I'm just saying.

  • I wish I can get decent AV Receiver in a slim form factor.

    • Your wish…. http://au.yamaha.com/en/products/audio-visual/av-receivers-a… plus it even accepts a Turntable input but I assume you'll balk at the $1400 price tag, right? Can't have it all unfortunately.

      • Yep… Forgot to add "reasonable price" :)

        • I don't understand the figures fully, but:
          2 channels x 60w at respectable distortion
          1 channel x 100w at pathetic distortion
          Dunno about the ohm effect.
So much for being a 7.1 system.. It's not fit for purpose.

Having said that I have the rx-s601 but I run it with two speakers

    • Agreed, my problem is the width and depth are always too big

    • Yamaha RX-S601 if you are price conscious.

      • Well… The pricewise local Yamaha RX-S601 is the same price as German Denon AVR-X2300W.
Denon looks better from the specs / features point of view.
        Can't make a decision. :)

I have big old Yamaha - not enough HDMI, no 4K no Bluetooth, no AirPlay, no Network Services.

        • Yeah, fair enough. The main reason for the rx-s601 is the form factor.

  • It's even cheaper if you pay in Euros at 458,08€ which is about $652 AUD. The $675 total in the OP is using Amazon's currency conversion fees.

  • I so want to pull the trigger, but no local support puts me off at the moment…

  • Is everything in English with these AV receivers coming from Amazon.de or are some of the buttons in German?
