    I just called Vietnam Airlines Sydney office, they said Australia isn't included in Southeast Asia

Their aircraft are long in need of an upgrade. Sadly it is only a matter of time before one comes down.

  Vietnam Airlines mainly uses Boeing and Airbus aircraft (80 out of 90) - the remainder are smaller turboprop planes similar to QANTASLink planes.
  Most of their plane fleet is relatively new.

Been watching fares Saigon to Phu quoc for next Feb.
Jetstar have cut the fares I was looking at quite significantly. It included the day I wanted but not all days. (VND 367,100 inc fees, carry on only)
May pay those venturing To Vietnam to check Jetstar now BUT pay in VND as the conversion with paying in AUD is woeful (approx. $20 more)
