Bought this for my son as an MP3 player, works great for the price.

  • I bought pixi 4 inch version with 1g ram, for $19 12 months ago, deadly slow even for basic usage like dialer and sms. Not sure if this 3.5 inch version is better though.

    • the one I bought as a backup is going strong though

  • It looks good! I might buy one and download a 'prayer-clock' app and hook it up to some basic speakers with a 3.5mm jack.

  • 1GHz Dual-core processor allows you to play music and watch videos when you’re on the go,

Oooh play music and watch video wowoh must be that powerful 1Ghz dual-core processor.

Optus 3G - well at least that won't be congested.

    • Some people just want to make calls and nothing else, @supabrudda :)

      • Of course, but then they're better off with a candybar phone,
like the Telstera Cruise for $9 @ Woolies this week. you don't need to recharge it every day.

        • have you tried SMSing (typing) on one of them lately?

        • @turbodude: yes, just last week when I was in rural NSW..need something that would last longer then a day…well it was an Nokia candybar…didn't have to charge it for 4 days - awesome

Alcatel phones are crap. I have a Pop 4G, totally replaced under warrranty by Optus after a few weeks use while in Europe (no phone for the rest of a six week trip), replacement freezes, gets the jitters, reboots etc etc. Useless crap at any price.. 😩 .. !!

    • Alcatel is a brand of mobile handsets used under license by Chinese electronics company TCL - Wikipedia

    • My daughter has a 5" Pop 4G. Its the best of the Zip/Alcatel/Huawei sub $100 cheapies.

  • The one I was dissing is a Pop S3 4.5" 4G. Actually for anyone reading this looking for a dirt cheap 4G phone AND prepared to take a punt on Alcatel, there's a seller on eBay knocking out Pop S2 4.5" 4G, locked to Boost and will therefore run on Telstra, for an unbelievable $40 for a new, sealed box phone. For 4G that's a show stopper!!!!
