It's because you live in Sydney. Move cities and you won't be in struggle town.

    In before people ask..

    Yes gift vouchers work.
Yes wait 5 to 90days for credits to appear.
Yes supplementary cards with different numbers work, not on CBA or Westpac.

    • Can you buy a gift card online and let us know if that works too :)

        • What are you trying to imply :)

        • +1

That dead horse is already a gluey pulp, stop flogging it please.

Downloading game of throats is also illegal, yet only way to get it is foxtel. Wtf?

        • -2

@Turd: Yeah and Gerry harvey is a douche.. 10% GST Online Backdown.. fark.. me dead…

        • @Turd: Game of Throats. Sounds kinky.

    • Just checking so do you mean if I save an offer to my card via the app my partner can make the purchase on her supplementary card and still get the credits?

      • Each card unique number must be registered.

        • Does that mean you can double up or not?

        • @frostee: Yes if both cards have unique card numbers and both cards are enrolled and registered to the offer.

        • +7

          @frostee:

No you can't double dip, that's unethical

Thanks OP - good to see this Freedom one is valid to 29/Dec so hopefully some sales come up after Christmas!

    • +2

Freedom markup even higher than IKEA. Don't expect much from whatever sale they have.

      • +6

Freedom furniture is rubbush. They don't do refunds for change of mind even when you haven't taken delivery.

        • -4

They are under no obligation to do change of mind refunds. I'm not familiar with any furniture stores that do.

Edit; I can see fantastic furniture and Super smart allow change of mind, but fewer if the better quality stores do.

        • +1
        • +4

Freedom forward your order to 3rd world overseas companies. Those companies generally don't offer change of mind unlike Australia. Freedom never hold any stocks, otherwise they need to pay your furniture by holding. IKEA get stocks in store so they can accept change of mind.

        • IKEA is the best! Bought a Billy book case a few weeks earlier. I cracked a small bit of wood off when assembling, asked if I can swap for a new one, not even one questions asked! I can either return the whole thing assemblied or in pieces, or swap the whole thing or the part. Where on earth you get this? I stick with ikea till death.

        • Give you a wait of several weeks to several months then won't refund - it is a pretty shonky business

    • +2

Just had a look on their page… prices seem very high and it looks similar to ikea.

      • +1

        Yeah prices are high..

      • +1

IMO it's better quality than IKEA. After having owned similar items from both stores I can say that Freedom is much better built, better finishes, more sturdy.

        • -2

They are all made in China, they just to same.

        • +2

Have to disagree… From my experience IKEA quality is superior

        • +1

          @LoveBargain15:

So what if they are made in China? After all, God made earth and heaven - everything else was made in China.

        • +2

          @LoveBargain15:

Apple products are made in china, so is the crap stuff you buy from hot dollar.

        • @illuSion:

Hotdollar stuff is made in Vietnam Thailand and Bangladesh.

        • @junkie13:

my family used to run a hot dollar store one year ago. 90% of the stuff are made in china, maybe they are a bit less now.

  • +1

Sooooooo what can 200 buy you at freedom? 1/5s of a chair?

    • +1

They have plenty of homewares that are not too highly priced. They also stock ecoya candles, and this offer would make them quite cheap - could be useful for gifts.

    • +2

I just bought a dresser from the Clearance section in the Penrith NSW store - $1300 reduced to $200 due to a couple dings and a problem with a drawer runner. Then it was during their 30% off sale. Then I used a gift voucher I had bought online for 10% off. Even cheaper again if you are a member of their discount program

Or you can go to the Bankstown (or is it Blacktown…?) NSW outlet store. Things are actually stupid cheap there. Some is cheaper than IKEA

I feel like i've failed ozbargain by not having an amex card

    • Yeah and cannot use thr Amex offers to better support the child.

    • thats what my gf told me too

  • +1

Freedom have a surcharge on amex cards according to the signs at the counter the last time I went.

    • Last time i shopped there 3 years ago no such surcharge on Amex card. Well maybe things have changed.

    • Pretty sure my local store had a surcharge too. 1 or 3%, I can't recall.

      • Mine had a surcharge of 2%

  • +4

        • +3

          @SmiTTy:

Last time they didn't verify my birthdate, so I was able to make it earlier than it actually was (on encouragement of the staff to do so!).

    • If u r a automotive member e.g. Racv u get those discounts too

  • Nothing even worth buying and re selling like the harvey norman deal. Oh well, wait until the next.

  • -3

Why so many plus votes for crap stores?

    • +1

      Define "crap"?

      • Worthless trinklet with a 1000% markup on cost.

  • I tried to enroll with my CBA Amex card and got email confirmation "You have successfully registered your Card……"

So that means my CBA Amex card is eligible?

    • The previous comment is actually trying to say "The supplementary cards issued from CBA and Westpac have the same card number as the primary cards". Bank issued card is eligible but you can't registered for same card number twice.

  • There's also the First Choice Liquor Spend $150 and get $30 back..

    Perfect for Christmas day/holidays :)

  • +1

    Has anyone tried split payment?

    • +2

Split payment should work.. shouldn't be any issue…

  • +2

Freedom gave me an error saying card limit reached. Kikki still works

    • Yeh, limit exceeded already. First time I've seen this so far but I guess 10,000 is a small limit

      • It's a 40% discount. It would have to be.

  • Kikki no longer works - limit reached :(

    • That was quick, not even 24 hours…

      • Yeah I thought I'd still be able to get it this evening! Is there an Amex app for bank issued Amex cards?

        • amex connect website

        • @Turd:

Yeah, but is there an app available for Amex Connect? I believe there's an Amex app, but can you use it for bank issued Amex's?

  • Any suggestions for good deals ?

  • They used to have a discount for RACQ members as well. If you're a member, ask for it.

  • Does anyone know whether the Freedom cashback works at the Bankstown Excess Outlet? T&Cs say no but often these things still come through.

    • I'd buy gift cards from another freedom store to qualify for credits. Then use them at outlet?

  • Unfortunately they have signs up everywhere saying they don't accept gift cards.
