Yeh for that reason, I think its too expensive. Check out a metabox in that price range with GTX1070 and pretty good reviews. Mine came with 512gb ssd as well.
do these models still have that mobo issue?
My last alienware laptop, motherboard died and had to sell it for parts after a year
Mine (m18x) made it to just over 3 years until i had the same issue, had the extended warranty until 3 years.
But it was hardly used over that time.
Keep in mind that 1050TI is actually faster then the 970. This means that you will probably get light gaming ready laptops for a much better price then this soon.
Still unsure as to why computer makers put 4K screens in 15" laptops.
Oh lord, it's "7.08 lbs (3.21 kg)", that's gonna just sit on a table forever.
Windows 10 Home? What a waste. I want to at least be able to remote desktop to the thing. Another $100+ to upgrade Home to Pro. Pass.
Are there any other more cost effective ways to go from Home to Pro?
If it was a 1070 it would be a deal, who would pay 2500 for a 970m now?
