Whats the colour accuracy of the screen please?

    • Will check for you on Monday :)
      Kris

      • Here they are :)

        • Hi Kris,

Very tempted to jump on one of these before they run out tonight, but I'm hoping you can help further with the screen - looks like it's the same panel as some msi and asus laptops, and in their marketing they boast about 100% (or very close to) sRGB coverage - that notebookcheck review puts the panel as only having 83% srgb?

I do need something in the 95-100% srgb range at least for what I do

Are there different versions of the same panel?

        • @muppetman:
Thanks for the message, Unfortunately there aren't any other screens available. We did have the IGZO panels but they are no longer available.

          Cheers

      Are you frail or something?

    • do you even lift bro?

    • +1

It's a gaming machine so that weight is expected and in fact not too bad for the specs.

You wouldn't carry it to uni everyday for example but for LAN parties it's great or as a desktop replacement at home.

  • I have Samsung SSD 950 m.2 512gb from another laptop, can I save on this deal by exluding the ssd? It will save me $$$$

    • +3

Did you even try go to the link? The answer is yes - save $150.

  • 5%… not tempting enough

    • How much is enough to tempt? :)

  • Does the screen use PWM?
Is there are version with a full-size zero key in the numpad for fast numerical data entry?
Does the battery last a reasonable amount of time?

At $2,000+ it's got to be no compromises, especially no lazy compromises that would cost little to fix.

    • From my understanding, you can either have Nvidia G-Sync or Optimus. As a result, the computer would be unable to use switchable graphics. One cannot expect battery life to be great.

    • +1

      Hi There,
      The screen doesn't use PWM.
There aren't any different keyboards, sorry. All the Metabox range appear to have the smaller "0" key.
With battery life, users are getting 3-4 hours with much less when gaming.

This laptop does have a very powerful GTX1070 graphic card, and the best selling point (in my opinion), is that it is best value GTX1070 laptop on the market.
So if you are a gamer it is great value.
If you aren't gaming or casual gamer then maybe look at the cheaper P650RP-G or even the N150RD1.

      • I'd rather get this for $2300

        OS: Windows 10 64BIT

Screen: 17.3” IPS FHD(1920x1080) LED Screen

        Connectivity: D-Sub HDMI 2.0USB3.0 DVD WriterMiniDisplay Port 802.11acBluetoothCard ReaderUSB3.1 Type-C Dolby Theater2.9kg

Save money on Windows, plus its 17.3 screen, rather have that then a ssd that i can add myself for under $100.

If you can price match something like that, then I'd get my new gaming beast from you guys:)

        • Hi drazenm,
The deal is also available on the 17.3" version.
          See here.

          Cheers
          Kris

        • @Kong Computers:

Yeah i know, till i add os, 8gb more ram its $2600, not competitive.

        • @drazenm:
          Hi drazenm,
I've just also added on a free upgrade to 16GB RAM.
In my opinion, this is the best value 17.3" GTX1070 gaming laptop on the market. Please let me know where you have found a more competitive price or product and I'll see what I can do.

          Cheers
          Kris

  • More expensive than last time, sneaky.

    ($2329 + $49 for 16GB RAM = $2378, compared to $2349).

Edit: and no SSD upgrade, but I would argue both are just as mediocre as each other. Something like a 950 pro would be an upgrade…

      Hi Dyl,
Hmmmm, yes good point. I missed this. I was in a rush on Friday evening to upload the deal. I didn't notice this.
The last deal had the 512GB Sandisk SSD and this one has the newer 525GB SSD plus the opportunity to upgrade or downgrade.
Let me sort out on Monday and will rectify the deal.
I'll refund the difference for any orders placed already :)

      Cheers
      Kris

Now that's awesome customer service! :D

Didn't realize you can downgrade the SSD, quite a decent deal then for those who don't need 525GB.

        • +1

I have made the adjustments in price. I have offered the +$49 RAM upgrade for free but raised the price by $20 overall. So this now matches the deal that we did last month.
Every customer thus far has opted for 16GB RAM, so overall the saving is $149 now (even though the base price has gone up $20) where it was $120 overall before.
          Cheers
          Kris

  • Hi Kris,

Any chance of an upgrade to the 6820HK? If so what price?

    Cheers
