  • The waterpik always reminds me of Frank Constanza shouting "Serenity Now!"

  • By a better model for a cheaper price from amazon uk.

    • Amazon UK doesn't ship many of the Waterpik models to Australia.

  • Wonder how good it is compared the the Philips Air Floss? hmmm..

    • +1

Many of the reviews I've read state water much more powerful than air flossers.

Thanks! Been wanting to upgrade from my Panasonic one for years!

Same deal is on its eBay store
    http://m.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Waterpik-WP450-Cordless-Dental-…

In tandem with 10% off Australian stores
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/281934

Makes it an easy $89.10 decision!

FYI, since using my Panasonic water floss I've only had 2 fillings in 4years, prior to then I was plagued.. Money saving alone in dental cost..

    • Bugger I missed that!

I've added the 'ebay local stores promo 10% off' to the deal details with credit to you.

      Cheers.

  • Can you add mouthwash in these products? Or just warm water?

    • +1

Yes can be used with mouthwash.

How does this compare to other items out there?

  • Does anyone know how many tips are included in the pack?

No deal. Been same price at Chemist warehouse for a long time. http://www.chemistwarehouse.com.au/Buy/69479/Waterpik-Waterf…

  • This is also great for cleaning the grout between the tiles(*)

    (*) this is a lie

  • I've had the Panasonic one also and it is great. My dentist recommend mixing Savacol alcohol free with water - this has been fantastic for my poor mouth - highly recommended.

  • I have bought one, thanks OP, I never used before and never floss but dentist told me that I need to floss,
so, fingercorss, hope this one will help, cheers.

  • Don't buy this model, the recharge system was poorly designed.
    1. To charge this you have to plug it in. Imagine plugging something that's wet. To not get electrocuted you have to remember to dry it off first.
    2. There is zero indication when it is charging or fully charged.

    • What do you recommend then?

      • Get the Panasonic EW1211A. Cheaper and much better.

    • When charged it lasts absolutely ages, I've had mine for a year and never had a problem with electrocution. When using this for the uninitiated it can feel overly powerful so keep it on the lower setting until you have become comfortable, on an upside this also works wonders as a mini pressure washer and I use it to clean down the little holes on my oral b toothbrush heads ( you'll be surprised what sneaks into them).

So someone says the Panasonic one other says this one listed which is better?
Any reviews of one listed on here?

  • -1

    ?

  • I've not used the Panasonic but either would be a huge improvement on normal flossing and we all know how much teeth are to fix.

    • Some say this waterpik is not as good,im not sure if the panasonic one im asking about is same model or not as amazon but look same and have similar number.
I never really floss just started doing it but find it a pain in the arse.
Been years since i had been to dentist and luckly i only needed a clean but if i have left it longer could have been worse. Wife had been years before me and needed about 9 fillings a major clean and required root canal but went for extraction instead.
Yes your right not cheap but luckly insurance paid about half or over.
Im wondering if a device like this will be better that manual flossing as i find it akward as hell and not the best.

      • I find it quicker and easier than flossing compared to tape especially around the wisdom teeth, either of the 2 mentioned are messier than tape because you're blasting water around your mouth and some runs out and down the device (its not a sexy look) but all you need to do is rinse it afterwards.

I've just had a look at the Panasonic one and I agree the charging base looks better but the actual device looks very similar to the waterpick I have, which ever you do buy when you first use it don't use the high power mode right next to your gum line as it may put you off.

Edit: if mine waterpick packs in (its over a year old now) I would probably buy the Panasonic, just to see if it is actually better.
