  • Nice find

  • I thought I read it as Tommee Tippee Sangria…sheesh

  • Good price.

FYI you can buy a biodegradable product for near this price at any time. It's a little more expensive than Big W's special.
$85 per pack of 10 refills here

The Big W equivalent using the price in this post is only $73.75

Currently I bought a sangenic bin with 3.5 refills off gumtree for $15. Works well enough. But debating whether I really want to pay for refills compared to using plastic bags and walking outside. She was only just born and started smelly poo a few days ago.

Honestly use the plastic bags and walk outside to chuck it in the bin. That's what I did for my 3 kids. Kids/babies are expensive enough, spending money on nappy disposal is insane to me. Don't forget you can actually buy little plastic "nappy bags" too, they are quite cheap (from memory like 200 bags for $3) and they have nice smelling fragrance in them. I like the aldi ones.

      • Same here, we just dump it in the same bin as our general rubbish. We shop at coles/woolies often so we re-use the grey plastic.

    • I tried the poo tube ones, but don't find they mask the smell. The ones in the OP, though, do mask the smell.

      • Same, i purchased one at ebay.. Does not mask the smell

  • Each cartridge hold 10m of plastic.

600m worth of refills is what I bought for the long run.

Does this mask the smell of poo??

I converted from sangenic to one of these (http://www.toysrus.com.au/ubbi-diaper-pail-sand/) and never looked back. Higher upfront cost but pays itself off as it just takes regular plastic bags. Keeps the smell in too.

    • How does this go when u re-open the lid?

      • There is no smell if you give the inside of the bin a clean every couple of weeks. I also put a little bit of bin buddy in the plastic bag which seems to help.

    • How long have you been using it? And are your plastic bags super thin?

From what I was reading in the reviews, the plastic tabs in the ubbi tend to rip weak bags.

      • I just use the bin bags from coles, the ones that come rolled up. Have never had an issue. I buy bags that are bigger than the bin though, I can see how it would rip a smaller bag it's not designed to have the bags suspended because the weight of the nappies would be too great.

  • We use normal bin bags. With twins they fill up pretty quickly.
What I do is flip the plastic bag upside down and then put them into the plastic refill circle. So when we put a diaper in we can turn the bag and lock it. Saved us $100s!

    • Normal bin bags? Ie: not regular shopping bags?

      • Yea the bigger ones.

        • Sorry I'm still a bit clueless.

Black bin bags: A roll of them, the ones that are like a metre long each?
Take out an empty plastic circle. What do you mean flip upside down? Do you just mean to jam the black bag open-end-first into the top of the circle?

        • @justtoreply:

          Got a PM from DaWeizOne

          Yes, the ~1m bags
Yes, separate the plastic container into it's two pieces. Push the bin bag open-side down into the container. Put the two container pieces back together. Pull the bag through like you do the regular bags.

  • thanks for that! was still marked as $50 at Big W Southland (VIC); but scans at $44. Got 6! That'll tide us over for a month or so ;)
