They would if the prices weren't absurdly high for outdated models. They send outdated models to Target/Big W because that market is the cheaper/lower budget in general audience than Harveys or Good guys who have the later models. That business model would work if the DC29 and other models you mention were half the price they are currently sold but no they are about $100 or so less than the current generation. I feel sorry for the people who don't do their research and think they grabbed a bargain when a Dyson is on sale in those kind of stores.
I was in big w the other day and a young couple were about to spend $599 on the one in there, I told them to go to the good guys where they would get a better one cheaper :D

Depends on how you see it but it is mainly down to the technology which no one else has, because of that it isn't mass produced thus the machines are more expensive to produce hence the price.
The non-motorised accessories are the ones I do agree are pricey lol

There are better performing vacuum cleaners and filtering systems with different technology.I ahree there are development costs but the technology haven't evolved much for last few years other than few gimmicks and huge marketing budget.
I don't care about the brands for the sake of it.
Well, the latest Cinetic Big ball models of Dyson has no filters needed whereas no other brand can boast that, as well as other brands rely on a big motorhead to boost pick-up performance so that is also another variable depending on how you see it but I agree, some machines performance initially better just depends on how much you look into it.
Dyson's head on those models I mention is mostly air driven if it had models similar to the V6 range where it has directly driven heads it furthermore increases performance.
Whether you see in your eyes or in general that the technology hasn't improved it is still mainly due to the development costs, yes some gimmicks are annoying but they do focus on making things better and won't release a model unless everything is improved on the last generation model with the technology they have at the time.
Also, don't forget, we get effed over with price conversions, etc lol

Yes, but the tangle free tool will not be 100% efficient on a DC58. The Hose I can't confirm if it is the same size to fit on cordless or not.

I got DC 54 , the original head comes with the machine got jammed in the wheels by hair. Is there any way I can dismantle the head and release the wheels?
Will this turbine head in target suit my dc54?

Just looking through the comments but can't see a similar query - will the turbine head here fit a DC39 Animal? Our turbine head just died and this could be a very opportunistic replacement - if I'm quick enough to snag one!
Can always return via post or in store for a refund. Might be best to grab one now before they disappear and if not suitable, return it.
