130

Probably not the best deal, but my dad has been eyeing the $50 plan with the iPhone 7 for a while - and now is a great time to buy. Only on the $50 SIM + phone plan will you receive a $100 credit on your next bill. Ends 11/1/17. Hopefully someone finds this useful :)

Plan includes 4gb data currently as a bonus.

PLUS - use Cashrewards for a $50 cash back!

  • $100 Credit When Signing up or Upgrading

So I get $100 credit if I pay $10 more and get 7GB less than my current Virgin plan… Who is running their marketing department these days?

    • I'm guessing you're on a SIM only plan?

      • yes, on one of deals posted here earlier this year…

          50 Plan with 4GB and a phone - e.g. Samsung S7 for $5/month is pretty good value. Kogan's got the S7 for $729; $55*24 = $1320 (-$100 credit) = $1220 - $729 (phone) = $491 = ~$20.50/month for 4GB, unlimited calls SMS etc…

          Or Sony Z5 Premium for free on 50: $1200 - $100 - $819 (Kogan's price) = $281 (about $11.70/month for plan).

        • @steinmeister:

There is no mention of a phone above.

    That's pretty crappy value.
Even Optus has a $40 plan with 10Gb data

But this deal is an included phone plan - not sim only.

      • ah the post (or the link) doesn't mention that. What sort of phone?

        • Several to choose from. Some at no extra monthly cost and others pay extra. If you click the 'choose me' link, it will take you to the page to select the from available phones.

    • Virgin has 12Gb on $40 12 month plan if you don't need sports package from optus. Plus you get roll over data etc. Buy 2 plans get bonus 2.5gb (total 14.5gb each) through online chat.

      • There's heaps of better value plans, I was just linking to one on Optus. But apparetly you get a phone on the mentioned plan

        • Oops- posted wrong place but can't delete

  • OP - might be better if you change the title to clarify this is + phone plan

    • Thanks for your feedback, I've made the adjustment :)

And cashrewards cashback, i think its $50

    • After completing my dads upgrade, Cashrewards recognised this cash back! Edited the post to reflect this.

      • What phone did you order? I'm interested in knowing if all phones on the $50 plan are eligible for the cashrewards ( looking at iPhone 6S)

  • It's just a shame I don't get reception on Optus network at my workplace and borderline reception at home.

  • Was looking at getting the missus an iPhone SE - she has resented me ever since i got her a samsung s6 instead of another ios model. Works out $50pm phone included and then $100 credit so $1100 which i thought was good value. Hard to find the phone cheaper then $650 for local stock so would be $18.75 for 4gb data, unlimited calls/sms and unlimited music streaming……

    • Lol sounds like my missus, resented me for all the androids I got her in the past so I finally caved and got an Iphone 7. Went against every fibre of my value-for-money being!

The Iphone 6s 32GB deal for $60p/m + $100 credit doesn't seem bad as well if your looking at the SE. Less gigs but you get a bigger screen.

      • Yeah, women can be a tough crowd. My missus seems to prefer the smaller screen actually so she can SMS one handed. Only downer on the SE is a poor front facing camera by the looks of it

  • upgraded my plan to $50,
    received $100 credit immeidately.
