Officeworks School List 20% Price Match

220

90% of the items on my kids school list (at http://www.schoolstuff.com.au/booklists/) are cheaper than Officeworks, so by taking this to Officeworks (you can also upload online) that will beat the cheaper prices by 20%

You could also compare the prices on any other list to these and take to best to Officeworks to price match. Just select a school and year to get a list from Schoolstuff. Other suppliers might be even cheaper?

The only thinkg they often don't stock are the maths and english books so you may still need to get these from the school supplier.

Anyone know a rich school that lists MacBook Pros on their book list??

    • I did this two years ago when my daughter started High Scool. Officeworks honoured it. It appears the school no longer lists MacBook.

    • I was joking, but now I'm actually on the phone trying to make it happen. A little hard because the item I want is online only at Officeworks, so I can't just go instore. The people on the phone said laptops aren't covered as it says BOOK list, I said the laptop is on the book lost, and it says SCHOOL list elsewhere anyway.

      • I had a similar kind of argument with them, but it was short and they honoured it. Was at a store rather than online.

        • Can you PM me the store?

      • No go. They've used every excuse under the sun.
        - It's not a book, so we won't match it (Pens aren't books either, but they'll do that. Also, it says equipment list in places, not just book list.)
        - JB are not a equipment list provider (Yes they are, they have been engaged by the school to provide an equipment list just like other book list providers.)
        - Apple products don't count (T&Cs don't say that.)
        - JB Education prices are publically advertised (The nature of book lists is that they are not publically advertised. Also, T&Cs don't say that.)
        - We will only match our own prices, not JB prices (What?! If they were your prices you wouldn't need to match them. The customer service rep refused to explain this and accused me of going around in circles.)
        - We don't have stock and the T&Cs say we can't do customer orders (To me, that sounds like a custom order as in something that isn't normally stocked, but that's where I'm stuck at the moment.)

        • Got it!

I went to a store with stock and showed them the emails from the other store.

        • MBP 13 Touchbar 256gb $1966.40. Less $180 thanks to gift cards from amex's First Choice deal. Then salary sacrificed. I could have got the GST back if I bagged it before I went overseas (just got back) but there was no stock and I didn't want to travel with it anyway.

Alright parents of school age kids, can you help the rest of us our and upload some useful lists?

USB sticks, laptops, tablets, phones, MFDs, 4k projectors….. they're used at school right?

You will need to prove to Officeworks that you are a student or a parent of a student.

No you don't. They'll make the assumption.

I can't tell if you're joking or not. I tried price beating an iPad a few years ago, I was asked for student ID or a letter.

        • If you want the 20℅ PB, it has to be on the school list, which are usually downloadable from the local school websites. They also keep some in store IIRC.

ooh interesting! thanks for sharing the code! not too sure if OW will actually price beat that though as sween64 tried and failed above.

They're not going to match anything technology related other than usb drives.

    MacBook, ipads etc ain't happening

    • I asked Officework support centre and they said that they would do 20% price beat on Macbook as well. All we need is - price to be cheaper than the price listed on OW school supplies list which is already 10% cheaper than retail price

  • I remember having to stand in the line for an extra 20ish mins due to this offer, parents price matching the many items on the school list, to say it was painful was a massive understatement.

Hi Guys, need some help here. Helping a family to buy Ipad 2 air for their school. Its the genuine case, they have been given the code by their school I think, which allows them to buy Ipad 2 32gb for 508 from Jb hi-fi, Officeworks is showing 567…does that mean we can get officeworks to beat jb hi-fi price by 20%….appreciate your feedback please….

    cheers

    • Yes, assuming Officeworks aren't (profanity) about it. There is nothing in the T&Cs to prevent you from redeeming this offer in that way. The offer ends today though.

      • Thanks it worked. Fingers crossed hopefully order get through without any issues now.
