Nationwide? I need to warm up my car….

    • +2

Not sure. Can't find it on their website, so hoping there are some people already shopping that can check it out.

      • Cheers - This will hit 100+ in under an hour if confirmed available in all Big W stores!

        • +3

Confirmed by Staff Member its in QLD Northside Stores
          Possibly Australia Wide it seems
He couldnt find it via the website but did find it via a product code

Price is the same as the OP
Limited Stocks though and the lines are quite busy
Been on hold 20 minutes just to get one put aside for me

        • @studiosounds: can confirm that Macquarie shopping center Sydney big w did not have these at the sale price.

        • @Cheapcuda:

Not ideal but I guess it depends on the product list and stock available

  • +2

Here we go, good job comrade.

  • Great price!

  • +1

CONFIRMED AVAILABLE in Brisbane Northside Stores

Stock will vary store to store though

    328.30 is the price (:

  • +5

That's even cheaper than the $399 Havey Norman deal 2 years ago.

    • Other than being slightly irritating to read, do you realise you got the words out of order by mistake?

  • Careful, the specs quoted by OP says the 4k resolution is a weird 3180 x 2160 format. Could this be a 3k UHD screen with rectangular pixels?

    • it has 4k on the Box

    • Sorry, copy pasted the details from another site. Updated now. Thanks

      • +1

DW mate Alvian obviously never opened up the picture of it :/

  • Resolution 3180 * 2160 (4K) UHD

    Isn't 4K 3840 x 2160?

    • +2

      Op is wrong
      Confirmed

      3840x2160
      Contrast ratio 4500.1
      Brightness 220cd/m2
      4xhdmi input
      1xusb input
      1x optical out
      48 inch

      It's a steal
Be warned Stafford is selling out fast

  • Would this be any good for PS4 gaming? Does refresh rate even mean anything anymore?

    • Should be good enough mate
      60hz is better than nothing

    • +2

didn't think even the ps4 pro can do higher than 60hz maximum.

    • +3

It's lag that you should be most worried about. A lot of cheaper 4K TVs suffer from terrible response delay and aren't ideal for gaming (even with game mode turned on, if they include that feature).

That would be my primary concern with this TV. I can't find any reviews online for this TV to confirm whether this is an issue or not sadly.

  • +2

    Confirmed 4k resolution
    Stafford store has stock

    • Where!!!

    • +2

Never mind, they were down to the last few out back! Cheers for the heads up

    • Grabbed the last one at Stafford yesterday afternoon thanks!

  • +5

Hey guys just walked into big w in Highpoint. They have 6 left. 328.30 is the price

  • -7

Warning this is considered a "DUMB" tv
    ie no netflix ect..
Would be awesome with a new Apple TV

    • +4

Better with a 4K capable device like Xbox One S, Fetch Mighty or Chromecast Ultra. Why get a 4K TV and then use an Apple TV?

  • how good is the picture quality? as a normal pc monitor?

  • +8

Good deal. If only I had money and needed a tv

  • +2

All Big W's in my state (SA) are closed so I can't even find out if any stock is available! This is perfect though because we were just about to buy an outdoor TV for $600 from Harvey's.

  • +2

Picking up last one from robina. Thanks

    • Robina store has 6 out on the store floor atm. Potentially more out back for those still keen.

  • Just want to confirm that this is 60Hz refresh rate and that the Xbox One S will be able to output 4K on it? My current 4K TV is only 30Hz so doesn't bloody work with the Xbox :(

    • -4

LOL. Sorry mate but IMO don't waste your money on this TV if you are solely using it for XB1S gaming. A TV needs to support HDR10 bit and HDMI 2.0. This tv is a cheapie so it will be a sideways step for your current TV. Cheers

      • Not using it for gaming. Just want bloody 4K netflix/blu-rays :P So if the Xbox will recognise it as 4K 60Hz that'll be enough for me!

        • +3

I would still stay away from this TV IMO if that is your sole purpose. It is only an entry level tv. If you want guarantee 60Hz, unfortunately you have to spend way more on a Samsung KS8000 or a Sony X8000D. Check out another thread that has the Sony 43" for $799 I think. I know its more but you may get your 60hz @ 4K. IMO, this TV reminds me like a Soniq, cheap and nasty, especially for warranty. Cheers

        • @vinni9284: Ok. Thanks a lot for the reply :)

        • @gnarlyrocks: You're welcome. The Sony X8000D supports HDR, HDCP 2.2 (To support the new Ultra Bluray if you decide to go that path), future proofed, so it is a biiiiiigggg step up.. OK its twice the price though :-)

        • +2

That person is talking nonsense. You don't need 10bit HDR for gaming, not that many games even support it. And other comments say it supports HDMI 2.0 so you're fine.

        • @MrMcHairyHead: need hdcp2.2 as well as hdmi 2.0 for uhd bluray. Sony's older receivers are hdmi 2.0 but not hdcp2.2 in their last sale. I ended up refunding it since it wouldn't accept 4k60 from my shield TV when my TV would.

For games, you only need hdcp2.2 if you plan on Hdr. Otherwise it won't matter.

    • +10

I have confirmed Xbox One S

      1. Supports 4K
      2. Supports 60HZ
      3. 8 bit panel
      4. Input lag under 50ms from tests done so far in 4k mode, even better in 1080p mode

Buy this TV, it is the exact same software as the excellent Bauhn Dumb TV's

4 games support HDR, I wouldn't waste your money unless you are wanting a decent HDR TV
      ie 3 times the PRICE

I am very happy with this TV, Same Samsung Panel as Bauhn, didn't quite make quality testing but at this price point I can live with the response rate and good quality picture.

      • +2

Thanks for the review. Not bad for a TV for that cheap. I only hope it lasts :-) Cheers

      • I'll have to jump on it then :) Considering how cheap it is (can always sell it for $150-200), can't really pass it up if it does work for 4K content

        • +1

LOL. I'm even tempted!!! … considering I really don't need one! LOL

        • +4

I'll have to jump on it then

Let us know how it turns out after you jump on it mate

  • A warning, the Australian distributor Yale Prima can be rough to deal with for warranty service.

    • Chargeback works fine
Had no issues with Tempo and they werent the best either
      ACL protects you

      • +1

Yeah I would suggest buying with credit account.

Even with ACL in effect they are known to have refused warranty service before.

  • Hi Guys, Any idea where is it in stock in Brisbane?

  • +26

I have just unboxed and good news everyone

    1. It uses the same EXACT system software and Panel as the ALDI 48K UHD
    2. it is not a smart TV but for 328.30 I didn't expect it to
    3. Input lag is EXCELLENT, much like the 65 ALDI TV released in September
    4. Xbox one supports 4K and 60hz, No HDR, but at this price point 2/3 is good enough for most games, remembering once again this is a 48 incher for less than 500
    5. It uses the exact same Menu, 1147 service mode as the Bauhn TV does
    6. Supports 4K 60hz Chroma 4:4:4 subsampling
    7. No issues with mine, backlight bleeding was minimal, Panel quality excellent and no dead pixels
    8. Panel Model is LSC480NF07
    9. Software is fast, smooth and buttery like the Bauhn TV
    10. It appears to be a direct ripoff of the Bauhn with a change made to NO VIP MODE (HOORAY) and also a change in boot logo
    11. 4x HDMI inputs supporting HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2, foxtel iq3 works FINE
    12. I would say 8/10 for price vs happiness factor

Stock is available in Stafford QLD, I asked the operator and he advised less than 30 units in stock :)

    • +1

Thanks Mate. Dont understand technical terms - but will 4k on XBox work? not for the games for Netflix and other movies?

      • +1

Confirmed yes it works fine, had no issues with Xbox Gaming or Netflix over 4K
Detects and seems to work OK

    • +3

Confirmed Southside Brisbane (Underwood my closest one). Prices were not marked (they had to scan) so good for us Ozbargainers who know before hand. All their JVCs are on sale. The 50" Full HD was only $349 - tempted but wanted the 4K.They also have a LG 49" FullHD 49LH570T for $649 until 4/1/17.

    • +1

      Thanks for the summary.
Sounds like it could be used as a pc monitor as well

Don't suppose you have some pictures of it unboxed?

      • +4

Yes. According to a previous poster. Be aware that you may need a decent GPU (Eg GTX970 or above) to take full advantage of 4K. (as it has HDMI 2.0 out of the GPU) Cheers

    • +1

      Thanks for the detailed reply!

    • Could you please check if it supports HDMI-CEC?

    • Is contrast okay? That's my main concern… that blacks would be terrible.

    • Has it VGA connection for PC?

      • -1

        Hello, no VGA. soz

    • +1

I've just come here to read the comments. And you my friend have done a great service for alll those interested in this TV.

      Well done.

    • What's the sound quality like? I usually fine jvc to be poor in that aspect.

      • Sounds not bad, Nothing exciting but its not complete rubbish

        • Has it VGA connection for PC?

        • @compugrid:

          No VGA connector
Cheap enough to get a VGA to HDMI cable though

        • +1

@shawncro 222: thanks for the reply, mate

        • -1

          @compugrid: No VGA!

  • Whats Free to Air picture like?

    • +11

Whats Free to Air picture like?

Crap. Same as on every TV.

    • its not bad, supports mpeg4, not the best on every channel but for 328 I can deal with it

  • good for pc monitor?

    • Id Like to know this too.

      • +2

Yes but you need a decent GPU (GTX970 or higher) to take advantage of the 4K resolution. Plus the GPU has HDMI 2.0. Cheers

        • +1

Yes does Chroma 4:4:4 at 60hz

  • +1

My brother got one from Big W Karingal an hour ago. They still had a few left.

  • +5

Stafford now out of stock! Kudos to the fellow Ozbargainer behind me in line! ;)

    • wow that sold out fast

  • got the last one at merrylands stocklands, but display still available. thanks op

  • +1

    How long is warranty?

    • Prob 12month, but at this price… who really cares lol

    • 12 months

  • +1

    none at Murray bridge..
rest of SA is closed?? wtf?

    • Standard SA behaviour

    • Yeah, I just noticed that myself. I'll probably try calling 9am tomorrow.

  • +2

There was one left at Eastland ringwood 30m ago (might have some out the back , only one on the shelf though) after the one I bought

  • +5

Great deal, saw a guy carry one out of BigW Bankstown. Very tempted to get one but I really don't need any more junk.

New years resolution to take 15 minutes and actually think about if I really need to buy something from ozbargain.

Before, I would impulse buy straight away. Now - the more I say no, the easier it gets.

    • I have been rethinking my purchasing decisions for the last 6 months and have no regrets and some extra cash in the bank🤔

  • Im gonna sit home nd play video games whole day, these discounts are none of my business, cuz im true ozbargainer

  • +8

5 6 5 left at Stocklands Wetheril Park

    EDIT: resisted
    EDIT2: Nope, did not

  • There are a few left at parkmore shopping center Vic. Ask the guy and he will grab it for you

  • Sydney:
    None at Top Ryde
    None at Macquarie
3 left at Chullora Big W - You'll have to ask the guy behind the technology counter as they are all out back or call and ask them to hold one for you.

There was also a JVC 50" for $349 (Sorry, forgot to take a pic)

    • The 50" for $349 is only FHD not UHD but may suit others.

  • +4

I GOT the last one from campsie Big W but the misses not happy.

    • Has it VGA connection for PC?

      • -1

        Nah mate no VGA love.

  • The deal is good. Big W do not advertise their TV's online. My store at grafton had the tv listed fot $500. After getting it scanned it came in at $328. The staff are not told of deals like this.

    • +1

What is it with TV's and BigW?

They stopped selling them awhile back and now they have crept back into their stock again.
