Samsung Galaxy S5 16GB $385 @ Harvey Norman

160

Hi,
Harvey seems to have matched TGG's Galaxy S5 pricing. For those with AmEx credit offer already saved it's a incredible value for Galaxy S5 which is still a very solid phone at this price point.

AmEx Statement Credits: Harvey Norman - Spend $300 Get $100

Hope some of you find it useful. Have a great day!

Regards :)

Still a solid phone?? What does that even mean?? Compared to what?? I think it's an old dated piece of junk

  • Something like the Xiaomi Mi 5S Plus, OnePlus 3T or ZTE Axon 7 is just far better value (getting near top of the line specs and metal build) even if they are a bit more expensive.

      Except for warranty and 4g

Warranty yes, although I suspect you can find international sellers of these that will at least honor 12 months. 4G, we're generally talking about B28 missing which many have said has not impacted reception noticeably although YMMV of course.

        • the band 28 means I get full signal in the lavatory cubicles at work (multi-task), my old phone barely got reception. Also get better speed, but might just be due to lack of congestion or band aggregation …. will change as more people get phones with band 28.

What is it that you are multitasking exactly? :)

pooping and updating social media .always a challenge when time poor….. some would called it synergy.

The Samsung has band 28 for the heavy data users, most Xiaomi's don't. We still have one as our spare phone, has 1080p screen, all the Australian bands, and local warranty and support
The Moto G4 plus is a nice phone, we have one in the household, has 2 sims, supports all Australian bands, OTA updates, etc.

      • Moto G4 Plus has nice specs but lacks NFC if this is important for mobile payments which the S5 has.

      • Yep, it's a tradeoff. Better specs and build, but less warranty protection and potentially worse reception. It comes down to priorities. I like to post in these kinds of threads because most are familiar with the more popular Samsung / Apple options but may not be aware that there are lesser known alternatives.

I'm particularly keen on the Axon 7, just waiting for a sale at the moment. One of the best headphone jack performance levels, great speakers, near top line specs, high res screen and reasonable battery life.
