140

Long time lurker, first time post. Needed this adapter to hook up a keyboard to the iPad to work with Garage Band. This is the cheapest I could find. Apple has it for $45.

  • Good deal on original cable, just note I think this cable is being phased out for a new version by apple at $59.

The new version is a powered usb cable so you dont have those issues of usb not being recognized cause its underpowered

          Happy new year Seinfeld!

  • Bought this from David Jones last time for $21.

  • Does anyone know if this can be used as a card reader on the tablet and not just transfer? Looking to extend the memory on my ipad

    • No you can't use external storage to add capacity to the iPad. Best bet is iCloud to stream in media if that's taking up a lot of your space.

FYI, the model that GG is selling here is the MD821ZM/A, which is the older version which supposedly only works with iPads and not iPhones, even if there are anecdotal evidence of it working on iPhones too. The newer model is the MD821AM/A, which is the one you can get from Apple store etc and works with anything requiring a Lightning adaptor. I got around this by getting HN to match the GG price via the online chat and picked it up instore, and banked on the staff at my local HN (Osborne Park) to not notice the very subtle difference in the model numbers between the 2 and getting me the newer one…worked a treat..:)
