20% off Apple Music Gift Cards at Coles (~ $7.93/Month When Purchasing 12 Month Sub)

230

Coles currently have 20% off iTunes and Apple Music gift cards.

The stand out bargain here is for purchasing the 12 month Apple Music subscription. You already get 12 months for the price of 10 with this gift card ($119, saving $24.88), so with the additional 20% off this becomes $95.20, equivalent to ~$7.93/month. A nice saving (~34%) over the regular $11.99/month rate.

Of course the discount on iTunes cards is par for the course, with most good Ozbargainers knowing this is the regular 'everyday' price at Officeworks!

Edit: Also 20% off iTunes cards at Woolworths this week, but Apple Music cards are not explicitly mentioned, so unsure if included…

  • Same deal in Woolworths as well. Just went there yesterday and got the 20% off iTunes gift card.

    • Yes, I saw in the catalogue that Woolworths also had 20% off iTunes, but Apple Music gift cards were not explicitly mentioned (like they were in this deal) so wasn't sure if included?

      • They're all the same cards, just re-branded.

        • They're not exactly the same. The Apple Music cards can be redeemed either at face value for iTunes credit, or for a particular subscription length to Apple Music service (3 or 12 month cards available).

Whether Coles/Woolies distinguish between the cards in terms of these sorts of promotions is another matter however!

I'm guessing there is no point to these cards for those of us who are "students" with the discounted apple music subs using our UTas email :)

    • The point is to use discounted gift cards to pay for discounted subscription.

      • Very true for the iTunes cards, but I'm not sure how this would work for the Apple Music cards.

When redeeming the code you can choose between getting the face value of the card credited to your iTunes account or selecting the Apple Music subscription option (3 or 12 month cards are available).

        • Very true for the iTunes cards, but I'm not sure how this would work for the Apple Music cards.

I think when you select Apple Music, you can pay for it via your iTunes credit first.

This is what i do now. 20-25% off cards at a minimum

  • Has anyone else besides me had success walking into OW any day of the week and getting 20% off itunes cards? seems pretty standard price IMHO

shame those days of 1/2 price at HN are gone..

    • Lots of people, given 20% off is their 'everyday price' ;)
Try don't however sell Apple Music cards as far as I know.

not always convenient either. If i just want to add $30 credit to my account, im not going to make a 40 minute trip + fuel to save 6 bucks so its good to know that an outlet that is 3 minutes away is doing the same

  • Can Woolworths egift cards be used? If so, then 0.95*0.8=0.76, 24%off?

    • +2

At woolworths yes. I have been doing that lately after prepaying several hundred dollars onto e gift cards.

  • I've seen people mention that Apple Music cards are just rebranded iTunes gift cards, is that correct? If I buy a 12 month Apple Music card and apply it to my account, does it just give me 12 x $11.99 iTunes credit or does it instead just give me 12 months of Apple Music (not affecting my existing iTunes credit).

When you redeem the code, you get a choice to either apply the face value of the card to your iTunes account, or to subscribe for a particular period to the Apple Music service (3 or 12 months card available). Choosing the latter does not give you any iTunes credit and does not affect exiting credit.

The main reason for posting this bargain is that the 12 month subscription is particularly attractive, as it already is normally priced at 12 months for the price of 10 ($119, rather than ~$144), so the extra 20% discount on top of that is a bonus. It effectively makes a discount of 34% off a 12 month subscription compared to paying $11.99 month to month.

        Thanks for the explanation!

  • has anyone ever had any luck in price matching these offers at office works?

    • You can't price match, as Officeworks already sell at 20% off as their 'everyday' price (as mentioned in the OP).

      • Sorry. I meant "price beat" I.e get officeworks to beat this price by 5%

        • +1

I think you'll find a product has to be advertised cheaper for Officeworks to 'price beat'.

My feeling is that Officeworks offer 20% off as their standard price so they don't have to price beat every other week when iTunes cards are on sale elsewhere.

@Jad: Thanks for the reply. I ended up getting one from coles as I was already there.

  • Do these gift cards work for Family Share plans?

    • They will only work when redeemed for iTunes credit in this case.

Months of Apple Music membership from an Apple Music gift card can't be applied to a Family subscription, student subscriptions, and mobile phone service provider bundling (through supported carriers).
