    bluray not blueray!

    • haha picky, fixed

      • For true pedanticism, it would be Blu-ray.

No deal: I would only get a Blu-ray burner.

  • With free shipping, that's pretty sweet. Usually around $100 without shipping.

  • yeah i grabbed one

  • what is dvd-w?

Come on Jennica, one up your collegue!!!

  • I bought one a week ago for $99 at MSY, just my luck! One thing I did notice this is listed as model SH-B083L, the one I got from MSY is SH-B083A. Not sure if it's any different but the link on the PricesEngine site takes me to the Samsung Canada site.

Good to see lots of bargains coming through Pricesengine. If it helps, this pricesengine site and the 9289 cashdeals are most probably going to get me to buy at least $2000 stuff through 9289 - so these bargain sites are certainly doing a good job of advertising :)

  • Is this a bluray burner?? or just a player?

    • says BD-ROM so i assume reader only

  • +1

    • Ahh , so just a dvd burner that can read bluray disks right?

      • yep.

      • Correct!

    • +1

Uh, that spec says nothing about reading BD-ROMs…

    • Miss one line

      BLURAY 8X BD-ROM

    • So this is the retail boxed version with software and not a drive-only OEM version?

      Local warranty?

      • Local Warranty for sure.

  • Good price, note that this is the older model though. The newer model (SH-B123A) is a 12x drive for about $20 more if you want extra speed.

    • It's $20 more not included shipping and surcharge I think…..

  • Does the L model just add Lightscribe support?

    • ya…

      • Thanks, didn't realise they had 2 versions of the same drive. I have the A variant which doesn't do lightscribe, probably won't matter to me though.

  • +2

Good bargain and save me $20 if I am buying. But I will wait for a bluray burner from pricesengine or 9289 :P

  • +3

Thanks pricesengine doing a great job!!

    • Second that.. they keep feeding the bargain hungry mob on here! Thanks PE!

    waiting for bluray burner

  • I was going to get a bluray burner, but the costs of discs are painful and I just want the reader so I can convert my blurays to MKV to protect my collection and bluray reader in my PS3, easier to stream it all off my network, thanks Pricesengine :)

    • i bought a burner about 12 months ago…. still haven't used it!

  • $97 at MSY, this is a good deal that includes free shipping.

    • But as mentioned before, the one at MSY is the non Light-Scribe version.

PricesEngine also looks to be the retail version whereas at MSY you get OEM.

This is a great deal even better.

      • MSY supply the retail version with box and Cyberlink BD Suite software, it is the non-lightscribe drive though.

  • Have tried 3 times now and keep getting a session expired message after clicking through the details on paypal……

    Anyone else?

    • Managed to get it through, the session time wasn't allowing me to change the delivery address in time. Had to end up going to my default PO box, so not my fault if PO boxes aren't allowed! Bit short if you ask me…..

Minniewu.. I have sent an email last night regarding my Samsung HDD, but havn't got a reply yet.. http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/27642
For those who are wondering what this is about:
I bought the HDD and after a week of not receiving my order, I sent them an email to inquire about it. They replied that my PayPal account was “unverified” and hence the delay. I have since verified my account and emailed them several times, but no reply and no HDD.

  • What's the easiest method of dumping and converting BRD now guys? I take it that we use a program such as AnyDVDHD or DVDFabHD to dump but is there still the long winded procession of demuxing etc?

  • +3

hi MINNIWU, are your service guys reading emails? I have sent 3 emails to cancel my order and today i still received a letter saying that my order was processed. Could you please ask them to cancel my order? thanks. My order id now becomes: O-12192

    • +3

hi minniewu, since your service guys do not read emails properly, i have to post something here. i sent them an email to cancel my order 1 minute after i placed it, but received nothing until somebody sent me a information telling me to verify my paypal. It said "*** You can either do the verification through Paypal OR reply us with the cancellation request. We'll process you orders as soon as we get you reply." I replied this email on the spot to cancel my order, but on the next day i received something saying you order was processed. then i received another email saying my order cannot be canncelled???? I was very confused with what your service guys are talking about. I just want to make clear that, i am not going to verify my paypal account, and when can i get my money back?

      • fair call.

        • not really worth neging this deal though as by the sounds of it rainy's problems have nothing to do with this deal in particular as he mentions on the next day…

          • +3

@Chux: Its in regards to this company so i guess by way of that… this deal.

he also mentioned sending an email
            * i sent them an email to cancel my order 1 minute after i placed it, *
            AND
"OR reply us with the cancellation request. We’ll process you orders as soon as we get you reply.” I replied this email on the spot to cancel my order"

its a warning… if that happened to me, i dont think any deal would be a good deal….fair warning i think… until his issue is sorted.

            • @wisc: yeah good point

            • @wisc: That email it's our system email. Because our system has check your account status which is sent from paypal to us. if it's unverified our system will send an email to you which is (rainy118) received.

              • @minniewu: hi minniewu. i am not saying about your automated email. i am saying that i had sent email to cancel my order several times, even you guys offered me an option to cancel, but you still processed my order, and told me the order could not be cancelled.

                • @rainy118: Can you send an email to me with your order number. that I can find out what happen with your case.

                  thanks

      • Sorry the late reply.

If you are not going to verify you paypal, I will ask our account to refund your payment for you.

Sorry about your confused. our customer service are very busy the the email and shipment right now.

I'm very sorry for the customer who have not receive their item.

I will trying to follow up for your guys.

        Thanks for your understanding.

      • I've emailed them a few times asking my order to be canceled, then a few days later they have confirmed my order and emailed me telling me that my order cannot be canceled since its already confirmed.
        Beware of these guys.

        • That is because there have lot of customer in the mail queue. We can not just jump over all the other customer to answer your question first.

It's not fair for other customer.

And we don't accept cancel request if you just change your mind or buying the wrong item. Because that will cost our man power and some other cost will increase.

Cost increase means product price increase, That's the things we don't want to see right.

You can take your time to consider you want to buy or not. Don't just buy because it cheap

We are always suggest our customer consider before you buy, That it's good for you and us and also our future product price.

I'm very sorry about your issues here.

    • .

  • Missed Out. OP / Mod, please update title to indicate sold out.

    • woot - checked this morning just in case, and was stocked. Ordered. Happy.

  • Very sad. I just missed out.

  • good price… was flip-flopping about getting one but took the plunge and got one… must have been close to sold-out when i got mine.
who's shopped with pricesengine before? how long should i wait for it to arrive before i start sending angry emails lol

    • usually within a week. 5 business days. They are pretty good. They let you know once your product is shipped.

      • thanks for that. my paypal is verified so i was hoping it would be pretty quick…

  • Uhm I've just ordered one and it seemed to be still there. WTH o.o

  • Please bring us more deals. One deal per day is not enough…

    • yes it is, otherwise I may go broke.

  • Dammit, I missed out on another good one. Geez you have to be quick. I check the site 3-4 times a day. Some of you guys must live on here. XD

    • +1

just check around mid day, as thats when all the one day sites update typically… but yeah, i got it open pretty much all day at work :D

      • +1

+1 I check here every hour when I'm at work :D

        • exact same thing here… i try to stay on ozbargain constantly when it at work so i dont miss anything like this lol

  • need deal for Bluray BURNER, not the READER!!!

I would go for Bluray-BURNER if you guys can do a deal?
everyone got $30 DVD-RW burner nowaday anyway…who need another one?

    • I see your point but think that it is at least handy that it can burn DVDs; people may not have room for a second drive, or may be looking to replace a broken RW, or intended to boot a live cd on their existing drive, or build a machine from scratch.

hi minniewu. I AM NOT GOING TO VERIFY MY PAYPL, PLEASE CANCEL MY ORDER AND REFUND MONEY ASAP!!!

    • I didn't think you could complete the transaction without a verified PayPal account?

    • take it easy

  • I can't believe I missed out on this deal. Shattered.

  • I'll take rainy's order!

I had to pop out and never had a chance to order so yeah, when you get around to cancelling that order be sure to send me an email to [email protected] and I'll take it.

  • +2

Why bother with a burner? Honestly. Hdd's are so cheap, buy twice as many as you need, backup to the spare and unplug it.

Its faster than blu ray by a LONG way and it's rewritable and resellable.

Unless you want to author video discs watchable in a blu ray player, I can't think of a valid reason to own a blu-ray burner.

  • everyone that missed out, keep watching as they add more stock during the day usually.

  • This is a damn good deal. I made an argument about Samsung, but for DVD drives, I don't see much of a difference between DVD/BD drives. I normally stick to ASUS, but I don't think there is much of a difference.

  • BD's are so expensive that they are not worth using yet compared to DVD's (For burning). I would wait until the Cents per Gig are a little higher than DVD's, if not, DL DVD's.

    • I just want one for dumping to HDD so I can put my BRD collection away from my kids and still watch them without the hassle of getting them out again.

      • Sounds pretty reasonable, there's always going to be a niche out there.

  • +1

They must have added some more stock, now showing as available.

    Hi all.

Our manager have something would like to share with you.

    "Dear OZbargain menber.

Recently our customer service are dealing with lot of email, and I totally understand what your feeling is. I would like to use this opportunity to thanks and sorry for those who waiting for a long time on their email reply from us. everyone is our priority we don't want to miss out any one of your message, that's why we have to answer it one by one.

In order to make everything more clear, we have open few other email box for customer to asking different question.

If you are the customer just finish your verification with PayPal, please email to:

    [email protected]

If you are the customer who are looking for warranty, please email to:

    [email protected]

If you are the customer who have not receive the tax invoice, please email to:

    [email protected].

The reason why we will ask our customer to verify their account with paypal it's because it's protect your credit and our company, there are lot of customer using others person credit card or paypal account to shopping online, If you credit card or paypal account has been use by an unauthorized person, paypal will block your credit card and paypal account which mean you can not use your same credit card to purchase with any other online shop including us. in order to stop every unauthorized purchase activities, we suggest you to verify your credit card or bank account with paypal. that is good for you and good for all the online store. your simple action will change the online shipping environment into a different level and also bring the cost down of their business, which mean bring the selling price down, which is good for everyone.

So that's do this together, and we will keep looking the good deal for everyone.

Thanks and hope you can understand.
