    • Went to the Sydney warehouse this morning and collected mine. The process was simple - pop into the office and quote your order number. They then go and pull down a chair from the warehouse and build it for you, and then (kindly) load it into your vehicle. Top service, nice people, easy process.

  • When does the sale end? It would be convenient if I could drop in, try it, and take it with me, after the new stock arrives.

  • I checked this last night and it was listed at $1050

    • +1

      $1050 with arms

      • Ah yep, thought it was 950 with arms

  • This is still a stupid price unfortunately. I know corporates get this chair for $450-$550 with arms - this price is without arms, so check with your friends who use this at work - they can usually get this at the same price.

Having said that, here are the chairs which are better than the Aeron (even if it's being updated soon):
    - Steelcase Gesture (2nd pick)
    - Steelcase Leap
    - Herman Miller Embody
    - Haworth Zody
    - Haworth Fern (1st pick)

The chairs above are more modern, have better technologies (either for erogonimics/comfort/support) & and can be better priced depending where you go (Embody not included in this).

    • What are the best resellers for Haworth chairs? It seems like their website seems to indicate there's only one seller in Melbourne.

      • +3

Haworth are in the same building as Steelcase in Melbourne.

        • Not any more. Steelcase has moved, Haworth moving soon.

      • Melbourne is only the Haworth Showroom (same as Steelcase I think). I believe the dealers are in Perth and Adelaide.

If you're looking at Fern, it's too new to have any discounts or resellers. For Zody - not sure, but it's been around for a few years so surely somewhere online.

      Thanks for posting, good info.

  • Thanks. Used to have it at work > 10 years ago, and missed it a lot since then. So bit the bullet and ordered one today. Enough sitting on a crap and suffer from the back/neck pains.
Went to the store to check the size, and C is way more comfortable than B (6" 190lbs), so if you buy one online, make you try it out first.

  • Ive had mine for 6 years. Love it.
I'm sometimes in it for 16 hrs a day, but never get a sore back.

Alert for new buyers - common issue is clearance on plush carpet. I had issue with loop pile as well. Pimped it with some new castors and no further issue.

  • Really tempted to purchase one, but am wondering if i should wait for the remastered version?

  • Where can I try the chairs out? All the reviews are making me consider shelling out for the chair.

I'll give Living Edge a call tomorrow to ask them. A quick look on their website, I can't find a Sydney showroom.

    • There are places in sydney that sell them. Just go there, try one and buy from living edge if you like it.

      • True online shopping style haha.

Thanks for the tip man. I will do some googling tomorrow for the closest place. :)

    • Sydney showroom is at Huntley St, Alexandria close to The Grounds

      • I thought they website said the Alexandria location is for pick-up only and that it is not a store.

        • It is. I went there yesterday

        • @first in line:

Just called them. I might check it tomorrow.

  • Does anyone know when the sale ends?

    • Their Facebook page says Saturday.

      • Thanks

  • Just got an email from a Living Edge ustomer Care Representative advising shipping will be refunded when my order has been processed.

  • Mesh seated (not just back) chairs are great! Plenty of ventilation if seated a for long time. Haven't had the chance to compare the Aeron but Mirra are great.

They don't seem to want to provide pricing information on the new model. Perhaps because people might not buy the older stock?

  • Got word from Sydney showroom that I can collect from the warehouse from tomorrow morning. :-)

Read a little about the new model, which is already shipping in the USA - I don't think I'll be too upset knowing that a new one is about to drop.

    • Did you order online or in store? Haven't placed my order yet but was hoping I can just turn up tomorrow and purchase in store and collect the thing?

      • I ordered online. Judging by the number of orders that they have there, versus the stock - I'd say that there's a slim chance you might be able to, but wouldn't guarantee it. Looks to me like this deal has been very popular. They had piles of orders.

        • Alright, I just placed an online order and checked the warehouse pick up option. How sure are you that we can pick it up tomorrow? Don't want to drive all the way there just to find out the chair is not ready for pickup. Who did you talk to in the company?

    • Just called and they said all online orders can be collected from Monday. Don't know how you got from tomorrow morning. Hate it when people post false information =/

  • pretty much every desk in our commercial offices have these chairs, i'm assuming we get a good deal when buying them - but thats tens of thousands of them. They're great in my opinion. comfortable and ergonomic!

  • +1

man..so tempted. Yet i still can justify the purchase to myself…. sigh

    • Haha I know how you feel. It took me a few days to decide, I only just pulled the trigger and got it. I can justify it by saying I will be using it heaps (about half a day on it).

    • Google 'obama aeron' or 'sheldon aeron' ;)

I want to thank the OP and everyone in the thread. You've all taken time out to provide reviews even though you weren't getting the chairs.

I was not even aware of such chairs until this bargain was posted. With increasing admin time lately, I've found my back starting to go. Managed to order two but I'll have to cross my fingers because apparently the stock is meant to be all gone and they're unsure if they can get anymore in since the new Aeron will be coming in.

  • Anybody know what size is suited for someone that is 5'6?

    • Most likely, B. Anyone higher than 5'10 should ckeck out C, as it really depends on the upper legs' size. Read Amazon reviews, plenty of people share their own story on what size fits them well. Some suffered with B so switched to C and found it perfect. The best way is to come to the showroom and test it yourself as every body is unique. Dont listen to their sales rep, it has to fit you perfect.

  • Anyone able to pick up their orders from the warehouse yet? Their customer service is pretty bad, so hard to contact them!

    • I got "Awaiting Pickup." email Thursday night, so I picked it up Friday morning (Alexandria warehouse) - they even assembled it for me.

  • Looks like deal is off… damn. Anybody in vic wanna sell theirs second hand? ><

  • I've just picked mine up today.

Didn't order it online as the website was saying "11 weeks lead time". Instead I rang up the store (LivingEdge Richmond, VIC) and just went pick it up.

Mine was a size B, no arms, fully assembled and fits easily into the back row of my Toyota Yarris.

  • Strange that they removed all Aeron chairs from their website. Has anyone who ordered online had theirs posted yet?

  • Got an email saying my shipping date is February. LAME!

    • Same here. I received this email-

Thank your for your estore order.
Your Aeron B has been allocated from the next shipment due early February.

I will keep you updated of the progress.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

They don't even give a definite date. On their website they say they will be getting the Remastered Aerons on 31 Jan. They really should offer to give us the remastered versions for making us wait this long.

      • Should we cancel our orders?

        • +1

Do you still want the chair?

        • @eug: the poor customer service left a bad taste…

        • +1

@first in line: What was the lead time stated on the website when you ordered?

        • @eug: I called them and went instore, they said stock should be ready to pickup/delivered this week.

        • +2

@first in line: You'd consider that alone "poor customer service"?

Anyway it sounds like you're having second thoughts about the chair and are looking for a reason to cancel your order, and are looking for other people to reaffirm your decision.

It's a lot of money, so if you're having second thoughts, just cancel the order. Impulse purchases aren't as satisfying when you have to wait. :)

  • Anyone got their chairs yet? Worth it? I'm thinking of cancelling my order…

    • I got my chair. It is exquisite. (Size C, Ima big dude)

  • cue sadface:

    "Hi <me>,
There has been a delay in the arrival of the shipment.
It is now due mid March.
I do apologise for this inconvenience and I will keep you updated with the progress.

    Kind regards,
    <them>"

    Anyone else get this?

    • -1

nope, did they send this notice to you or did you have to email and ask?

      • It came to me unprompted. For reference, I placed my order on the 6th of Jan.

        • -1

Damn, that sucks. I just emailed them, if I get the same response I will definitely cancel my order

  • FYI all.. Heard they sold all 200 chairs within a few days. Madness.. Sparta even

What is this, a chair for ants?? Size c doesn't seem to raise high enough for 6'2"+ people. Tried taking off shoes, wearing a nappy under my trousers.. still doesn't feel high enough. well a thin cushion did fix it at cost of mesh/lumbar comfort.

And this version is higher than the newer model by 15mm, and I think 40mm higher than the steelcase leap..

I've sat on Aeron many times 'in the wild' but only now at my workstation I feel the issue. I really only need an extra inch or so (yeah yeah that's what she said etc)

I'll contact supplier for advice, but anyone else experience this? suggestions? higher/bigger castors perhaps?

    • I've found some casters on Amazon that seem to resolve this issue. They add a couple of inches and also can be more forgiving of wood flooring. Will post results.

  • Finally got mine delivered today

    • +3

so much for being first in line! :)

    • +1

Also finally received mine today as well.
