Australia vs Pakistan Day 5 Cricket Test Match Gold Coin Entry with All Proceeds Donated to McGrath Foundation @ SCG

2480

This was mentioned a few times by the commentary team during the last session today. $1 or $2 will get you into day 5 of the Test match between Australia & Pakistan. All proceeds will then be donated to the McGrath Foundation. I believe 11,000 is the all time record attendance between these two teams for day 5, so why not get your family to the game for next to nothing, and all for a great cause.

At stumps on day 4, Pakistan is 1/55, requiring a further 410 runs for victory. Australia requires 9 wickets. Enjoy :)

    Niceee Garry

Josh Hazlewood claimed the only wicket at the change of innings to leave Pakistan at 1-55 at stumps. Gates will open at the SCG at 8am for Members and 8:30am for general public, with play scheduled to commence at 10:00am.

Above is from their website.. Garry didn't get his credit.. Lol

    • S. Khan c: Warner b: Lyon

Hazlewood took the two to end the first innings in the morning

Really hoping Sarfraz Ahmed is put in at number 4 and knocks out a tonne in a session. Final test, final day, it'd be great to see a close finish

    • Yes, Gary took the wicket then got changed (not for the first time after breaking thru either).

What does Smith got against him?

      • +4

I think it's more that Smith wants to attack the fresh batsman with our (usually good) fast bowlers

Anyone know if we can bring our own food whilst sitting at the Members Pavilion? A mate handed over his card to me and said Go, but I'm an OzBargainer, not going to pay $18 for chips.

  • Wish I was in Sydney, planning to watch all day tomorrow.
Hoping we pull this one again like second test, would be legendary!

All right Iam in! Just gotta figure out the best deal on a Melbourne_Sydney return flight.

  • Can someone tell me where I can buy the ticket . Is it online ?

    • +2
      • I meant the ticket . Do I need to goto the ground and get the ticket or we can book online ?

        • -1

          Gate A

        • You give a gold coin donation on entry i.e. you pay/donate a minimum of $1 to the McGrath Foundation when going through the gates

        • +1

A bloke named Spider in the carpark…he'll be scalping the $1 tickets for a crisp C-note! ;)

        • +1

@StewBalls: lol. Someone's been scalped before hehe.

        • Wrong gate, thats for members! Gate B will get you in

  • +2

I wonder if all stands are available obviously excluding members if you are not one.

  • What badge do we were tomorrow so we can recognise fellow ozbargainers?

    • +4

Just wear a packet of 8 or 16 eneloops taped to your chest and walk through security….
      You'll get noticed!

  • +1

Hope its better watching it live

    • -2

God no! It's even more boring when you're at the ground with no commentary, no close ups.

I think you're meant to go with friends and have a nice social day. The lone die hards take a radio.

Sorry but I asked this question for the last sausage sizzle in school and I still don't remember the answer.

Can I bring a collection of non-gold coins that add up to a dollar or more? If not I'll be outside gate A at about 12 or so.

    • No it must be a gold coin $1 or $2. If you give them a $50 note they will not allow you to enter.

      • +1

Darn it. All of my gold coins are stuck in my ING bank account.

    • +4

Why are we pumping Mgarth so much

Dude, i know it's ozbargain, but it's a gold coin donation

    • +1

      Seriously 😒

    • +2

Didn't your parents sit you down and tell you where you came from?

      • You keep putting money in his coffers he'll be laughing at you while he's somewhere in the Bahamas

    Howzzat???!! Just love cricket

Test matches quite often have FREE entry on Day 5, especially if a drawn match is possible. Not really a bargain.

All Proceeds Donated to McGrath Foundation

Which is great, all for a good cause. Just pointing out getting in for free/almost free on Day 5 is normal.
