Cheaper to get them 2nd hand.

Thats great if you want to keep discs (and dont mind 2nd hand stuff). A lot of people are now interested in moving away from that.

Can you sell these when you're tired of them?

Good luck selling your second hand DVDs.

Better luck selling your second hand Google Play movies.

Why would you buy a movie you don't intend on keeping?

          @aja12:

Sometimes you get sick of them and don't want to watch them again.

        • @jv: I guess everyone's different. The only movies I buy are movies that I want to keep in my collection. Everything else I just rent or borrow (I didn't neg you btw).

        • +1

@aja12: How would you know until you've bought them?

Reviews are subjective, the cinema is extremely overpriced and if you pirate then it's illegal and defeats the purpose of buying it.

        • @ChillBro: Because I've seen the movie before. I only buy movies that I've seen before and, like I said before, know that I want in my collection. Either at the cinema, or rent beforehand. I don't care for reviews. We have a brand new Event Cinema near us, it's $10 on Tuesdays. I call this reasonable, not overpriced. I wouldn't buy a movie that I've never seen before. Thanks for the neg.

  • Thanks for posting. Just used my 50% off code too so a bargain.

    👌

  • Personally would need to be bluray quality for me and streamed via an android tv box.

Tablet or smartphone or phablet would be nice but none currently do over 1080p for tablets and 2k i think for smartphones and phablets.

Hard going back to SD and HD is slowly starting to become outdated too.

Man technology changes so fast these days.

Agree. Any movie worth owning is worth being (at least) Blu-ray quality. Steaming is not HD, regardless of advertised resolution, because the content is extremely compressed.
The most underrated movie of all time is Speed Racer - the story is simple and the foreground steals attention, but there's so much art in the fast moving background you need half a dozen sittings to see it - I hope to see it in HDR one day.

      • Amen. I saw Independence Day: Resurgence on google play when there was the 0.99 cents deal to rent a movie. Watched the HD version and while it was nice it just felt cheap to me on my nvidia shield tab since i have seen movies like the hobbit on blu ray on a nice 55 inch screen tv. Definitely not the same and until it could be google play tv and movies is still a huge gimmick to me unless you are in it for the comedies or tv shows. We are nearly there just not quite and i know once 4k comes around we will be whining and complaining about 8k haha lol.

  • Browse to the banner in the Play Store on your Android phone and you will have the option to purchase every bundle in HD for a few dollars more.

  • I haven't seen the new ghost busters, is it really that awful?

    • I've seen most of it in bits and pieces (kids have watched it 10+ times) and it seems OK. Not the worst movie, certainly watchable.

      • Fair enough, thanks for the reply. The original was definitely a comedy, I'm wondering if they've aimed the newer version more for younger generation? My younger cousin loves it, so it's obviously a mixed bag of some who like and some who don't. As oppose to a movie that is widely disliked by nearly everyone, I.E; Battlefield Earth.

  • Great held onto my 50% off … Star Trek collection for under $14.
