Hi its comes with one controller, yes the cords are very short and will need an extension cable, yes normal phone charger will work.

      Comes with 1 controller.
Cords are short, I got extension cables because I was literally sitting 1 meter away from a 70" screen haha.
You could also simply get a longer HDMI and USB cable too if you don't want to get the extensions for the controllers.

You can use a phone charger, I just plugged mine in to the USB port on the back of my TV and it worked.

      Yes 1 controller

Yes deff get extension cable got mine off ebay

I just use one of the USB ports on my TV and it works perfectly fine

does come with 1 controller with the unit or not?

Yes, the console comes with one controller.

also, are the controller cords really short?

Yes, it's really that short. The controller is about 75cm in length.

like is it essential to buy an extension cable or would do without?

Unless you're playing at your computer desk, then yes it's necessary.

lastly, it says it needs an AC adaptor for the usb power, and im assuming a normal phone charger ac usb adaptor would work right?

Yes, a regular phone charger will work. Some have even plugged it in the USB port on their TV to supply power to the console.

(although for reselling im sure some people would opt for the nintendo branding one)

It doesn't matter as collectors mainly care about what's in the box, rather than things bundled outside of it. Also, many would already have millions of AC adapters lying around the house from all the phones owned.

    • thanks for all the replies guys!
just another quick one though, in regards to the AC adaptor (https://ebgames.com.au/wiiu-223023-Nintendo---Mini-NES-AC-Ad…) and the usb extensions (https://www.ebgames.com.au/wii-220153-Play---Mini-NES-Classi…) if anyone has bought these particular ones from EB, are they nintendo branded?
from the pic the usb extension doesnt look like, and may just be a generic black color, but if i can get someone to confirm that possibly? if it is generic black i will just get one off ebay as jamferma did.
But more importantly, can anyone confirm whether the EB ac adaptor was a genuine nintendo branded one? i know many people gave suggestions on ways around this etc. but ive ordered one for my uncle who is a big nintendo and NES fan, and id be happy to pay for a ninteno branded ac adaptor for him, if it happens to be the case.
Thanks to those who replied and thanks in advanced for anyone who can help on this :)

The power adapters are Nintendo brand as far as extension leads no they are aftermarket

Not a bargain. Dear than this which is also not a bargain

  • Considering it has such low storage space, it's not like there is much hacking potential into the future for other systems.

I'm going to pass on this one, although I was tempted. NES games just weren't very good, the only ones I liked were the mario ones, and I really prefer the All-stars SNES version.

Now, if this was a SNES classic, you can bet your butt everyone would go mental for one of these.

    • Have a look at Hakchi. People are putting the entire NES catalogue onto a machine.

      • Yeah I see that, but, nes games are sooo lame. gameboy games for e.g. are so much better.
Now if this thing could be hacked to support GB and Snes etc, itd be worth it, but it can't, and is limited by storage.
So I think this is definitely for the NES fans only, rather than just 'nintendo' fans.

Erryone should remember, both the Wii U and 3DS are hackable to the point where you can download the games right from nintendo's own servers.

    RRP is not a bargain

    • Find a cheaper price with stock?
This is a special case where people are paying double and sometimes triple for the product.

      • It's like when the Wii was selling with Wii Sports for $399, except the Wii had more life in it.

    Thanks. Got one (finally).

  • I got one. But realised i need another controller, do they have them?

  • Wow hasn't sold out. Decent amount of stock this time?

  • I ordered it from EB Games @ 2:38pm, had to call them around 10 mins ago to see if I can cancel as I wanted to add the 2nd controller to my order and was told I couldn't as they already lodged for dispatch.

From the words of the customer service staff I spoke to… "our logistics are smashing these out".

    • well its taken a week and a half and i still dont have my new mini

      • I'm in WA and mine says estimated delivery 14/2 but order is still listed as "processing" - maybe I should have selected express delivery… :/
