  • I saw this at Aldi recently, but I can't recall the price. I think $28.

I have the Aldi one, it isn't great. The screws they supplied to hold the tabletop to the frame are about 1mm too long, and make bulges on the top of the tabletop.

Had I realized before I did up the screws, I could have added extra washers to "shorten" the screws. Now that it has been done, the chipboard/MDF is damaged, and the lumps are permanent.

I'm glad you told me - I was still trying to find the Aldi ones so I can purchase. I'll just purchase the Ebay ones linked above, and will be mindful about screw length (and maybe add washers if need be)

        Thanks for the heads up.

I am now sure mine was from Aldi and I did not have any issues with it and it was easy to put together. Maybe Russ had a bad one. Mine is perfect.

          @Sun n Moon:
How much was the Aldi one btw?

@unistudent1: I think it was less then this one but I do not really recall.

  • what is this for?
does it go on your desk?

  • Got this exact looking product for the missus 4 months ago and it's not bad. Didn't care need the cooling fan so haven't installed/tried that but desk is OK not solid but quite a bit of adjustability. Paid just under $48 :-( after discounts & cashrewards but met our needs at the time.

I have a similar one. Not sure where I purchased it, maybe Aldi?

Anyways, I use a HDMI to connect my lappy to my big screen TV and use an ext keyboard and mouse while sitting on the sofa. This table is perfect for both items. It can be used from the left or the right side of the sofa/chair or based in your dominate hand for the mouse.

I did not have any mechanical issues with it and putting it together was a breeze… Mine does not have a USB cooler on it though, not that I need one for a keyboard.

Anyone thinking on getting one - it is a good use of your money.

edit: here is the link to the black one at the same store as the OP

  • Can anyone with one of these tell me the height of the wheels plus the bottom rails? I'd like to know if the base will fit under my sofa which only has a 55mm gap underneath.

    • The dimensions are mentioned in the store pictures

      • thanks, but not the particular dimension I need

        • I hope the second image has all the dimentions

        • @shoppingjoey:

it has dimensions but not the particular dimension I need. i.e. the height of the wheels plus the bottom rails.

@cactus5000: as soon as I get mine. I will measure it for you.

        • @xoom:

          cheers

My base sits 6cm/60mm off the carpet; that is the wheels plus the base the wheels are under.

@cactus5000: just got the desk put together.

measured from wheel touching the ground to top of base plate. measures 60mm.

          mini quick review of desk.

build quality is ok. instructions clear enough.

metal bit inside cross beam of base. unable to remove. so its rattling around when I was putting it together. not ratlling wheeling the desk around however..

could do with a pilot hole for usb powered fan.

provided screwdriver a little small. started to wreck screw head. used my own screwdriver to prevent this.

over all. im ok with it.

        • @xoom: BUT DID IT FIT UNDER YOUR SOFA? ;)

        • @Sun n Moon: my sofa has higher clearance than 6cm.
