Belkin ScreenCast (F7D4501AU) Wireless TV Adapter $19 + Shipping @ Shopping Express

70

Cheapest I've seen this (ignoring shipping).

A quick look on their website puts shipping between $9.95 (SYD, MEL, BNE, ACT) and $12.95 (HBA, DRW).

For those that don't know, this device when plugged into a screen, will allow you to send a signal from your laptop (or other compatible devices) to the screen. So you could use your laptop to send a movie to your TV, play a game or share photos with friends etc. Your device will need to support the WiDi technology though.

I've not purchased one yet as I'm still considering the significantly smaller Microsoft Wireless Display Adaptor which would be more useful for travel and presentations.

EDIT: looking at the specs, it only does 1080p and 5.1 surround sound.

I would buy a 1st chrome cast by adding few extra bucks which will cast my Android phone or chrome browser from desktop.

    • Agreed … Chromecast

    • Cool :) Got a link that might be useful for Android and Chromebook users who might be reading this post?

Or adding a thousand more your tv can have it built in!

So I guess this is a miracast device?

    • …as long as your in place with wifi

  • Is this like a steam link?

sorry @ThePasserby >< I didn't mean to make it sound disrespectful. I know some of the technophiles here may have 4K sets wtih 7.1CH+ sound so wanted to make sure the information was clear :)

  • Is this the poor mans chromecast

  • just wondering
I have a chromecast, and I am trying to watch the wwe network on my tv

the wwe app does not have the cast icon (they have said they were going to introduce it in june last year, we are still waiting)

trying to cast off google chrome makes the video choppy
tried miracast and casting off my android with similar results

no issues watching youtube or Netflix as they are chromecast compatible

would this device help me watch the WWE network on my tv?

    • Screencast AV4 would be your best bet but they dont make them anymore unfortunately.

Low latency Full HD wireless HDMI kit, great if you can find one!

If u have a laptop, connect to your TV via HDMI cable ?

    • How about cast the whole android phone using "home" app and run the WWE app?

I've been doing this if my Netflix app having difficulty recognising my chromecast

These are as buggy as hell. I'm assuming hell has plenty of bugs.

    • +2

using Belkin devices is the definition of hell

      so yes

    • I had one of these, it wasn't worth the effort. If I remember correctly you need to be using one of only a few different WiFi adapters, then 75% of the time it wouldn't work anyway! Get a chromecast!

  • How does this compare to Microsoft Display Adapter 2? I have been using Netgear PTV 2000 and thinking of upgrading. Not a big fan of chromecast as often do presentations where no wifi available.

  • I would spend about 5 dollar to get a HDMI cable and plug it to my TV.

  • You can't ignore shipping, unless you're not paying it, the price of an item is how much it costs to get in my hands.
