1Password Families Free 6 Months Trial (New Subscribers Only)

150

1Password no longer needs an introduction I believe? Free trial is usually 30 days but extended to 6 months with this promotion (saving ~US$25).

Do note that this is for AgileBits' new web-based service, which is different from the standalone, one-time purchase version.

  • Hmm. I was doing some research a few days ago on what to choose for a password management program and ended up using Dashlane because I found someone's referral link which gave me 6 months free - didn't want to outlay the money for 1password.

Now they've got a free 6 months trial!

Absolutely love Dashlane's UI and apps for Mac/iOS so I don't think I'll swap.

I'd be tempted to purchase the one-time app on Mac if it was discounted (I think the RRP is $99.99 AUD on the App Store and iOS is $14.99 to unlock all features). Would work out cheaper long-term.

Free for personal us. Have used it for years. Of course is more about what you do than what you use. Using this makes it easy to use good passwords and different ones on all sites.

  • Thanks very much for the promo code. Even though this is not for me, it does look like a system that will suit quite a number of users with general password requirements and good overall security. While it's free, try it out - if it's not for you, let it lapse.

By the way, as this 6 month free account is on what they call the "Family" plan (suitable for up to a family of 5 individual users), when monthly billing eventually starts, it will require your payment method and for you to pay US$4.99 per month, as opposed to the US$2.99 per month (both billed annually) for the "Individual" plan.

And it seems like you will not be able to "downgrade" from "Family" to "Individual". Referenced in comments here: https://blog.agilebits.com/2016/08/03/new-1password-hosted-sā€¦
