pretty sure you could combine both headphones in one post..

    • I hadn't found the others until half hour later. I might just do this though.
edit. Can't work out how to delete a post, i've reverted to how i had it :(

I shall buy 400 and give them to the local school. Whoops, I thought i was commenting on the 5 cent Officeworks deal. I shall only buy 399.

  • crazy? that much for a headphone?

    • +3

same like, crazy $10,000 for a bag with letter L and V on it? o would prefer this - bag cant make a sound

      • +13

        bag cant make a sound

it did when it was taken off the cow…

        • Did anyone else have a vision of JV doing a grab-and-run off some Kim Kardashian lookalike when they read this comment?

      • ha, agreed! but…. women love them!

      • LV can bring you peace with girl friend.
        headphone can't

    • It includes the manual.

cheap compared to electrostatic headphones …… my budget stops at $400, I have the Sennheiser 600 series which I had sent over from USA, and they do sound good, but when you get to these levels it becomes personal preference, unless they are Dr Dre, then it's bling or because you were stoned when you walked into JB Hifi.

I think people buying this level of headphones have tried them before and would find value in how they compared to other options.

      • i thought BOSE QC35 is good enough already :)

        • +1

This is where the personal preference kicks in, I for one would never buy Bose headphones…ever, they have no mids at all. On par with beats IMHO (also terrible).
Bose do one thing good, and that is small form factor loudspeakers (see SoundLink Mini), and their Noise Cancelling (which the QC are). The noise cancelling is amazing, but I would still not buy them…unless I spent a lot of time on planes. Anything larger than the SoundLink Mini, don't get Bose. Anything other than the SoundLink Mini, don't get Bose.
Like I said, the above is my personal opinion and preference…don't listen to me if you disagree.
          edit: formatting.

if you are a politican can you claim it as you need them for when you are jetting about to suffer through the inflight entertainment ?

Once you've saved $671 on these bad boys, you might as well save another $700 on a matching headphone amp - now also only 2 grand!
    The saving just never ends!

  • I have these, the best sound quality. Don't know if I would buy if your just using for your iPod though.

    • What price did you paid? I will wait until it is around $1200 though.

I see ppl walking around with L series lenses that are more expensive than this, and yet most ppl spend more time listening to music than using their dslr

    • Yeah but you look at the photo hanging on your wall a fair bit, it's not just "the taking" that brings joy.

  • holy piss !! $2K for headphones? I mean, im not saying its not a good deal but holy piss, Batman!

I'd be afraid to use them in public incase a brand conscious meth addict steals them from me and bystanders do nothing but film it and upload to you tube.

"are you OK, lucky he only tool your headphones and not your wallet".

      • +1

at that price, i'd be afraid to use them or even touch them, lol, let alone wear them out in public!

      • Same here, I'd also never wear a gold Rolex if am catching a train to work. But a 6"5 dude may not worry so much.

Your comment made me genuinely LoL. My cloth ears wouldn't appreciate these things. For a while our best sound system was in our car, and it wasn't that great a car. We bought a second hand amp at one stage and the salesman said "it sounds just like the real thing". When I was growing up we were still playing 78s on the record player. In my parents collection was the 78 of Slim Whitman singing "Indian Love Call"; that is the song that they use to blow up the Martians heads in "Mars Attacks". Mum swore she bought it for the song on the other side, but we thought it was hysterical when we saw the film. In summary - this things may be fantastic but they would be wasted on me.

    I admit I can't help desiring them.

i wish i was the guy who won $55M last week.

  • Great post OP! love the fact that it comes with free delivery!

    • Great bargain!

  • wow, this or the hifiman, decisions decisions…

  • Is the difference between this with the 'S' and the regular 800, the addition of the balanced cable?

  • +1

I guess I could add it to my home loan…

  • I think I'll buy a few pairs for spares in case my normal headphones pack it in… And why not by some for the kids?
