Good find OP - I'll do a quick check now at my locals. usually they are only UK brewed, hopefully they are Germany Belgium like yours!

  • Sbm888 stella are from belgium not germany nice drop.

Most stores UK brewed but better then Aussie brewed.

    • thks will grab some

yeah, not sure if they taste different due to freshness, or it's adjusted to suit a market. We have software in Victoria, so it would be different to if it was brewed in country that uses recycled or hard water.

Not sure if better or worse, but do taste different, and I guess we want to tastes it the way the brewers intended e.g Belgian beer brewed in Belgium, German beer brewed in Germany, etc.

I'm loving the 500ml cans but they are brewed in UK.

      • Most of the water will have some type of filtering prior brewing.

The ingredients would probably be locally sourced.

The only thing they can control is the yeast.

Melbourne water is probably one of the best in the world but still need filtering.

      • Belgian beer is highly regarded partly because it's brewed in hard water locations. The UK brewed Stella is from Burton on Trent also a hard water district.

    • I picked up a slab from Dan Murphy's yesterday for just under $39 and it is brewed in the UK.

If it's on eBay, probably China.

Sheesh! I just read the label on a bottle of Asahi that I was enjoying.
"Brewed and bottled in China" :o( That's the last time that I buy Asahi. OZB is educating me :))

      uk brewed,feedback from ebay

My local Dan Murphys price beat this eBay deal for $34 UK brewed.

    • You should note the EBay slab you have linked is the pilsner, not the lager that Stella is known for….

      • I acknowledge the description, but I don't think there is a Stella Pilsener different to the usual lager. I think it is just saying that Stella Artois includes Saaz hops.

  • Bought. Parched AS in this SYDNEY heat. Need a good thirst quencher.

Sounds like you've got a.. Hard earned thirst.. And a hard earned thirst needs… Well not this beer

  • just bought a case at BWS in epping vic, alc % is 4.8 not 5

  • BWS stock I have seen is UK brewed at the same price.

    • I just bought this too. Definitely UK brewed at $39 at BWS in QLD.

Same price nationwide from what I know.

My store has stock produced in Belgium, so other stores most likely are too.

      • Yeah but UK version bro

        • i got the belgium version?

  • So which one is better guys? UK brewed or Belgium brewed

    • +1

Belgium is the original, and has slightly higher ABV.

  • $38.95 @ Dan Murphy's

    • -1

Dan's will beat the $35 eBay deal if you show them yr phone.

      • -2

So, if I pull out my Nokia 6230, Dans will price match?

  • Somehow I dont like the idea of a carton of beer man-handled my auspost or courier please. Would rather pay a few dollars more and pick one up from the store.

  • Your killing me OZB. Was off grog for a break, but $39 for imported? Got one. Was ENG. variety (4.9) but still better than the local drop from what I'm told.

  • +1

Don't forget that Stella is the megaswill VB of Belgium. Typical Euro lager with not much flavour, and it was cheaper last December at BWS

Also, 330mL (vs 375mL) is worth 2 fewer bottles per 24 carton.

  • Can confirm $39 at Coles derrimut vic

Better buy is Hollandia beer imported from Holland and very similar to Heineken. Everyday price at Dan Murphy is $29.90
Check out the reviews at Dan Murphy online.
Everyone says its a great Heineken substitute at a fraction of the price.

    • A totally different beer flavour altogether. Dutch beers are inclined more hoppy (bitter) than their Belgian counterparts.

      • Hollandia and Heinekin are both brewed in Holland

  • Following the eBay link and purchased Stella for $35. PayPal confirmation showing the seller is woolies / Danmurphys… Just fyi if u didn't know…

  • Bought a slab at DM Hornsby, price beat Ebay deal for $35, UK brewed. Have had 5 already and got a bit sloshed. It's tastes like water though.

  • 3 slabs eBay deal $105.00 - $20.00 (THANKS20) = $85.00
    $28.33 a slab isn't bad.
