[PS4] No Man's Sky - £18.13 Delivered (~AU$29.45) @ The Game Collection

160

Yeah, No Man's (Lie) Sky was obviously surrounded by a lot of controversy when it came out, but recently (months after release), I believe it had a big patch to address to issues it had. Anyway, for those that want it, good price :)

Inspired by classic science-fiction and its overwhelming sense of adventure and imagination, Hello Games presents a game of unprecedented scale and ambition. In No Man’s Sky you explore an infinite universe where you will discover unique never-before-seen planets and lifeforms. A mystery lies at the centre of the galaxy, an irresistible pulse that draws you on an epic voyage to discover the true nature of the cosmos. Your journey will be charged with danger, encountering hostile creatures and fierce pirates; in order to survive, you will need to prepare, upgrading your ship, suit and weapons. Whether you choose to fight, trade or explore, every decision you make has consequences, shaping your journey as you travel ever deeper into No Man's Sky.

22.95 dollars too expensive for this caliber of game.

  • Rip off

    Great game imo

    ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Really enjoyed my time with it. At this price may as well make your own mind up.

I agree, it wasn't the best game but I spent a good 20 hours (before the recent update) and quite enjoyed it. It certainly lacked a lot of things but it wasn't the worst game I've ever played or wasted money on.

This game is a punchline now but I think that post update, its actually quite good for what it is.

    I'll buy that for… a dollar…

  • Still $22.95 too much.

This demo is only worth $5

  • It forces 4 pounds worldwide shipping and comes to £18.13 - $29

  • It's $28 @ eb for used copy for those who may want it sooner.

    Worth $5 max IMO.

What's the big deal with this game and all the controversy?

I never followed it at all, and all I know is people got hyped, it turned out to be average, the guy/s behind it lied about shit, and that's it.

I started it up the other day for the first time (free rental from the library so if you hate the people behind it, they didn't get a cent out of me) and while it's pretty simple seeming so far, for what it is, it's quite enjoyable. Exploring cool shit and killing dinosaurs and flying a space ship and shit, it's honestly pretty fun. If it debuted at this price I think it would be pretty cool, but I don't think it's worth 100 (or the 64 I would have paid at launch at Target/JB if I gave a shit)

Edit: I am legit asking what the deal is, I don't know most of the history and would like to get caught up.

    • The game is essentially incomplete.

Sony over hyped a game and then forced it out the door early (remember Driveclub.. though when this made Sony look bad they basically sacked all the developers of it).

Then people were like, hey this isnt everything you said it would be.. and it wasn't, you know.. because Sony pushed it out before it was ready.

End of the day, Hello Games copped a lot of flack for what is essentially Sony's control over its platform.

It's unfortunate because Hello games did everything in their power to keep building on the game and have been releasing frequent updates/patches AND additions to the game.

People buying it now for much less, are getting much more of a game than what people like me did when we bought it day one :)

I'd highly recommend it to anyone who likes a Mindcraft type of game.. but, if you just like multiplayer games like COD and GTAV, it's not for you :) IMHO

      • Pretty sure it wasn't Sony who was hyping the game. All of the comments about features that did not appear in the game came straight out of the mouth of the developer. The developer is also the one who puts together the trailers.

        • +1

Sure.. However, ONLY Sony decides when a game gets printed and distributed for its platform.

If that was Hello Games decision to make, obviously they would have brought it out when it was developed to their satisfaction.

  • For $29.45 you too can see what all the disappointment was about!

  • pretty expensive indie game

What's indie got to do with price?

      • You're right. There's no difference between a triple A title and an Indie Game.

        • -4

Exactly.. Either you love a game or you do not - that's what you price it on :) playability

  • +1

Waste of money. The game has no actual game. After the first hour you've seen and done everything there is to do.
There are lots of really good games at half or a third this price that will keep you occupied for hundreds of hours.
