Long time user, first time poster :-) Went into Harvey Norman Fyshwick, A.C.T yesterday armed with the Xbox 360 Elite: Controller, Forza 3, Halo 3 ODST bundle deal previously posted on ozbargain http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/28626, but came out with an even better deal, $198.00 for the bundle! I asked them to price match the deal at QV Melbourne, mentioned in comments in previous post ($198 Elite bundled with Lego Batman & Pure) but they didn't have that bundle on the floor so ended up with a much much better bundle. I assume if A.C.T stores match Melbourne stores, this can be used nationwide. Apologies for the smudges, they were tears of joy

        Would rather this deal. I can get wireless controller from my local HN for $45 anytime. Besides they were selling for $28 at Game the last time round

      I'd say chances are pretty good. The ACT store
      matched Melbourne straight away no problems, so
      I don't see why others wouldn't do the same

      haha thats what I was thinking. Sony must be shitting themselves that an Xbox 360 elite is now the same price as their RRP for the ps2 LOL. I want to buy it now but i've got uni so it may not be a good idea! These discounts are so getting to me.

      Yep, no point waiting. They're only cheap because they're just getting rid of them now that the new 360 model is available. Though I'm kinda kicking myself having bought the same bundle from jbhifi for $248 last month. But then again all the jbhifi stores I've been to since don't sell the bundle anymore. So like I said, once they're gone they're gone. So best just get it while you can.

    Once they sell to minimal stocks the prices will stable, it's probably because of the news of the cheaper slim coming out soon. Pretty much the same as the current one but with 4Gb of storage, that will make the elite deals look pretty bad once it arrives, so they'll want to clear stocks before then.

      Show them the print out… I called before goin and the guy was happy to give it at that price even on the phone.. So guess this is the new low price as they're clearing old stock n had many units available… Tell me if u want a copy of my receipt…

      From the xbox website that I saw long back, it said kinect was compatible with every xbox.. But someone on ozbargain was saying its only compatible with the slim version..

        Don't worry Kinect will work on all 360's, but only the slim will be able to directly power it.
        Previous 360's will require Kinect to use an external power supply for it. That's the only difference.

      No problem conradl. The only difference in terms of Kinect is that
      with the fat 360 you will have a power cord from the kinect to the
      wall. With the slim the power comes from the 360 itself. No
      biggie :-)

        ..and look. All of a sudden the original Xbox 360 is being labeled as the 'old fat'..

        Are they trying to make the original sound like an old piece of crap that no one wants? Had my 360 Elite for a month now and it's far from that..

        I think that term should only be reserved for PS consoles (PS3 Slim, PSP Slim, etc) otherwise everyone will start calling every console revision a slim…

          I think Microsoft was going to have S as silent until the press made it the slim themselves. I've listened to the comparasons on youtube and the old one sounds like a tornado compared to the S

    I went to Harvey Norman at Broadway Shopping Centre in Ultimo, NSW. They told me this is a fake and refused to match the price. Went onto say someone came in this morning with this receipt and when they called the store in ACT, was told this didn't happen. I think they are full of crap. Good bargain, just wish HN over here weren't so uptight.

      Should've told Broadway they're missing out on a golden opportunity, as soon they'll probably have to sell them at half this price to move stock (ignore the exaggeration). Than again, if they shut you down, let them stew with all the old stock.

    Finally spoke to someone who knows something at Harvey Norman Frankston, VIC. They are selling the 250GB Elite with Forza and ODST for $248.

    Wouldn't budge on the $299.95 price for the Arcade.

      UPDATE: I went in to the Harvey Norman store today and guess what? I saw 18 Elite Boxes bundled with Forza 3 and Halo 3 on the floor in a pile with a sign advertising them. So the salespersons I spoke to on the phone yesterday was not only rude to me, but he lied to me as well when he said they didn't have any in stock. Wow. Needless to say, I just walked out. The good news is I went to Domayne and showed them the receipt that I printed out and they price matched it for $198. Plus the salesperson was very friendly and there were no problems. I'm giving this deal a + for the 360 deal itself and for Domayne, NOT for Harvey Norman. I will never shop at Harvey Norman again.

      Most of them seem to be. Hence their deserved reputation. Gerry Harvey needs to visit his stores every week and/or stop employing dodgy staff ;-) Most of his chain may as well be completely independant given the randomness of their offers/service.

    Hmm well just rang up the Fyshwick store and they gave me the run around and they won’t honour the deal, they tried pushing a price of $249 on me then I reminded them their own website states a price of $227.
    Anyway congrats to you mate for the price you got, guess I’m just an unlucky bugger.

    Harvey Norman Sydney City (Martin Place) matched the $198 deal for Halo ODST and Forza 3 + 2 years extended warranty.

    I didn't think they were going to do it, but they rang the liverpool store, confirmed that was a legit price in one of these uploaded receipts, and so said OK…

    I got this deal today at Broadway in Sydney. Showed them the 3 receipts from ozbargain on my iphone. First they offered it for $250, when I was going to walk away they gave it to me for $198. The one I got was the last they had on display there, not sure if they had anymore.
