Hisense 65M7000UWG 65" Series 7 4K Ultra HD LED LCD Smart TV - $1592 @ Joyce Mayne

170

$3 cheaper than last post of $1595 at The Good Guys.

Also $1595 at Harvey Norman now. http://www.harveynorman.com.au/tv-blu-ray-home-theatre/tvs/t…

I had a look at them in several different stores over the weekend (JB, JM and 2 HN's), and there is a huge difference in the setups. Sometimes this TV looked quite ordinary, particularly in JB HIFI (compared to the Sony right next to it, which the sales guy plugged REALLY hard).

In one Harvey Norman they had it set up really well, and it looked amazing, right up with the Sony's and Samsungs, so I bought it!! They matched the best price I had just got from Joyce Mayne.

  • very tempting tv to buy, thank god id dont have a big enough house for it! might be time to save up for a new house me thinks!

    • I thought the same until I bought the ChangHong 65" a couple weeks back. I've got it mounted on a corner and it's really not that bad.

It's funny. People often say "I probably could have gone the bigger size" but no one ever says "I should have gone the smaller size". According to THX and SMPTE viewing recommendations, most people actually either have a TV too small for their room, or sit way to far away.

I say go for it for a more immersive experience. You won't want to go back to a smaller TV!

  • I upgraded from a 10 year old 50" Pioneer Plasma (only 720p, too), and the picture quality on this is outstanding with a good feed and some setting up.

Movement tracking is still better on the old plasma though, noticeably. I'm no videophile either.

    65" is big! :-)

I got one on the weekend too! Looks fantastic (friends who came over thought it was a Samsung…which it looks very similar to by 1/2 the price) But any tips on setting it up?

Also picked one up on the weekend. Went with 'Jamesh12' settings from that av forum and it looks awesome. Got rid of the 'red faces'

        • Thanks, they are similar to what I put in, I'll make a couple of changes.
My menu seems slightly different, I don't get a P1 or P2, and no B107 on white balance?

Does anyone know if it needs a firmware update?

          @beerbudget:
Mines Running G0909 firmware which apparently is the latest in Australia. There are different ones overseas. To get to the menu where you can change panel from B1 (not P), you need to:
          1. Press the COG WHEEL on your remote then press the RIGHT ARROW
          2. Go to SOUND then select ADVANCED AUDIO SETTINGS
          3. Highlight BALANCE ensuring it’s set to 0
          4. Press 1969 on your remote (it won’t appear on the screen)
          5. The letter M will appear on the top left corner
          6. Press the COG WHEEL

        • Awesome, thankyou.
Did you need to do the firmware update, or was it already installed?

        • [@beerbudget](/commentmine /4363889/redir):
          Mine was already installed.

Cricket looked great last night, but had to be on nineHD, standard looked horrible.

Yep agree - I was very impressed by the quality on 9HD last night

Rayboy2006 got the TV for $1520 at JB and has posted a receipt. Lincolnlenny got it for $1475 but no receipt yet. Keep those in mind when shopping!

    • Actually got mine for $1515 just by asking for the best price at JM, but would not be able to pick up until next day (it was late Sunday arvo).

HN price matched and walked out the door with it.

      • hi could you post your HV receipt here? thanks

        • Will do! Won't be able to until tommorow though.

        • hi any luck on the receipt? I'm looking to get one this weekend so was hoping the receipt could help with the negotiation. thanks

  • Do you reckon these prices ~ $15xx will reappear in a few months time (or better) or do you reckon I should grab one now?

    • I reckon they will not get more expensive, maybe temporarily only.

my 10 year old Pioneer plasma starting having issues, great excuse to get a new TV!
