  • Just a warning, the 1080 Ti is getting pretty close.

    Still a solid deal.

People keep saying 'oh 1080ti is coming out.' 1080ti is going to be at least $1500. It's wont even in a comparable price point that it will effect whether or not you should buy a 1080

      • Source on that at all?

        • +1

bro you know aus prices, dont expect anything cheap on those Ti's, im guessing they would be trying to sell it for $1400

        • +2

Remember the 1080s were something like $1100-1200 when they came out and stayed around there for a while, it's a fair guess on the Ti

  • But is it worth saving $60 to lose your warranty.????

Yes. Amazon give 30 day no questions asked returns in any case.

Is there any further coverage by Amazon or MSI?

But for only $20 more you can get a card that may be better (faster I think, but it's the DT version) and local too, with 3 year warranty. See my post below.

Difference between Armor and Gaming, aside from look?

    • +1

Gaming has a backplate, upgraded cooling system (marginal), and better out of the box overclock

Locally (Futu) $790 delivered after cashrewards for EVGA 1080 FTW DT ATX 3.0 using coupon COMMIT20 (expires 22/1/17).That would have a solid 3 years warranty.

          @Blazk:
Well there may be a saving, but it's certainly not a real $200 saving (inflated prices). But for $20 more than the OPs deal, to get quick delivery from an Aussie seller plus 3 year warranty it's a more solid deal.

Just beware the FTW DT means the card didn't meet requirements to be labelled/sold as a FTW edition so you'll probably have piss poor luck trying to overclock. If that doesn't matter to ya then all good! FTW cooler is damn sexy :D

      • I didnt realise the DT. Darn i wonder if i can get a refund / cancel my order.

  • Asus GTX 1080 strix OC is the card I am waiting for a deal on :)
