Thanks to a comment in my previous post found out this deal.
USRegion restricted and as I know many have the US account to avail the fantastic deals from the US stores lately, must be useful for them.
Once again use a no international transaction fee card like (28 degrees and ANZ travel adventurers)

  • Any down sides to using the US one over the AU one ? Will be my first time getting PSN+. Will you still be able to get the discounted games on the AU store?

US PS+ will only be usable on US PSN account. All purchases must be done through US PSN store.

You only get benefit of extra PS+ discount when purchasing from US PSN store.

      • Thanks I though the PSN + was shared throughout all your users so my AU user with all my saved games could still access online gaming ect.

Yeap that works too. If you have a US PSN account and set the ps4 is the primary, all the other users in the same PS4 will have the benefit to play online :)

Stahh - you can buy games from the AU store as well, but if they are on sale with a lower price for AU PSN+ members then you will pay the higher non-member price. I have PSN+ on the US PSN and an AU normal PSN account as I mostly buy games from the US site (where they are substantially cheaper - usually. But there have been some exceptions).

eg: AU store - Technomancer was $17.95 AUD on sale (and I think may have been $13.95 AUD if you were an AU PSN+ member)
US store - Technomancer currently on sale for $29.99 USD for US PSN+ members

in this case, I bought it from the AU store.

you can compare AU and US prices with these web sites:

      AU - https://psprices.com/region-au/discounts?sort=date&page=1&pl…

      US - https://psprices.com/region-us/discounts?sort=date&page=1&pl…
(don't forget the exchange rate for USD, can be a gotcha)

      • Thanks for info we always get ripped here AU tax

        • not always, as shown above.. AU prices on some recent games were MUCH better than US - but yeah, the majority of the times the US flash sales etc. for $5 are MUCH better value. I buy US PSN funds from Amazon as digital codes and then add them to my US PSN+ wallet when I want to buy games.

  • Sold Out, Damn missed out again

Setup SEA account (Singapore) cost $35.14 AUD from OffGamers and redeemed on Singapore Playstaion Store.

    Worked fine, no problems.
Found some advise on OzBargain that helped.

Should also be noted that Sony have advised a LOT of people (check the ps4 reddit) that from march 1st, they are region checking PS4's to determine eligibility to purchase from stores not from their region.

    SOME EXAMPLES:

    Dear XXX
On January 7th 2017 you recently purchased (GAME TITLE) from the PSN Store, We wish to advise that due to region requirements from March 1, 2017 this purchase will no longer be able to be accessed from your PlayStation 4 as the device is an Australian model and your purchase was from our US based Store. Please click link below if you wish to arrange a refund on your purchase, this refund option is only valid for the next 7 days. You are more than welcome to re-purchase (GAME TITLE) from the Australian PSN Store.

    Dear XXX
We noticed you currently have a PlayStation Network account linked to your PlayStation 4 that is linked to an address in North America. Please be aware that from March 1, 2007 this account will no longer be accessible from your linked PlayStation 4 as the device is an Australian model and due to new region requirements we are no longer able to support non Australian based accounts on Australian purchased PlayStation 4 devices.

    • Thanks so no refund on psn + but refunds given on games.

    • Not true.

    • Would anyone happen to know if this applies retrospectively? I haven't received a similar email but my US PSN PLUS account has been my main purchasing account since 2010. US PSN still has the best discounts plus flash sales. A bit concerning.

      • Dont take it as gospel, yet to confirm situation refarding region requirements.

"Please be aware that from March 1, 2007 this account will no longer be accessible from your linked PlayStation 4"

Reddit PS4 has 3 posts in last 3 days, no warnings….so. will keep looking.

2007 seems a long time ago though.

        • 2007 typo? Prob fake then

        • Dunno yet, hard finding confirmation on the topic.

I thought it would be easy to find info if there was such action being taken.

        • @waladare: fingers crossed indeed. You would think that such a major change to PSN's user policies would be all over gaming news websites such as IGN. Hopefully it's a hoax.

        • @Innamura:
Worth a try, $35 for 12 months PS+….all I will use it for.
