  • Real 18k gold?

    • +7

      Real thin plating.

    • 'Gold-plated', not to be confused for solid gold..

      • Ok so not real gold…

      • +5

you'd have to be pretty damn delusional to think an usd$80 watch is solid gold

an ounce is $1,500 aud plus? that's 28 grams

a watch like the above is probably tipping 150 grams at the least

Doesn't matter anyway, it will just start rub off after a few wears around the clasp and bracelet joins.

      • it'll make your skin go green as well

        • no wonder we call it Green and Gold ….

        • @dlovep: isnt it Black and Gold?

        • +1

          @sky blu: Aussie…. hehehe

    • Even better real plaatic gold! From Mr Fox's shop.

  • Invicta is notorious for making shitty watches, inflating the rrp and then "discounting" them, and also having horrible customer service. This gets mentioned every time amazon has a "special" on them. If you want a dive watch then get a seiko skx07/009.

The Invicta's with Seiko Automatic Movements are great watches, except for the Invicta logo stamped on the side of the case and the word Invicta everywhere else, but they have a massive following on Watchuseek for modding

You are pretty safe buying through Amazon as their customer service is up there as one of the best online.

You only need to check Camel to see what the real average price of any watch is, so I don't see the inflated prices as a big deal myself, after all we are professionals on here.

The Seiko SKX007 is my favourite watch.

I agree that when they have the seiko movement they are fine, I just thought that it was only in the 8926OB, maybe it is in more model now. I think the fact that they routinely act a bit shady is rather pertinent to the deal, and plenty of people have bought through amazon and still had bad customer service experiences. I have a skx009 and love it too.

        • why would customer service matter if you're an australian and not buying directly thru invicta

          amazon pick up the warranty

        • with only a couple of movement makers, if you like the case you can always get a better movement … and it's not pricey …. the guy that changes batteries for me wanted $80 to swap out a Ronda to an ETA movement if I wanted something better…. luminox …. expensive watch, cheap movement.

hard part is finding a quality case you like with features you like eg screw down crown, good luminescence, etc.
